About Dr. Aishah Suleiman
Dr. Aishah Suleiman is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She has ten years of experience in diagnosing and treating adult patients with complex acute and chronic medical conditions. She has worked as a hospitalist and is currently working as an independent contractor for a hospital system, providing consistent, quality care. She has served on the Committee for Infectious Disease during her time at Memorial Hermann focusing on strategies to reduce infectious disease spread, judicious antibiotic use, and hygiene practices. She mentors new hires to the group ensuring they are familiar and comfortable with the expectations of the role, the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and the hospital system/staff. She has completed training and certification for prescribing suboxone which is a controlled substance used in treating opioid addiction. Opioid use disorder is a significant problem within our chronic patient population and requires multimodal management including pharmacotherapy to improve patient outcomes.
Due to her excellence in documentation practices, she has been recruited by her group to undergo additional training through American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She is working toward completing the required certification material with plans to become a Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner to become the documentation resource for her hospitalist group. This will not only allow her to further improve her personal documentation, it will also allow her to share her knowledge and teach her colleagues to improve the quality of documentation of the group. This will translate to increased reimbursement for the hospital and physician, as well as decreased chance of litigation. Dr. Suleiman will take these skills into the clinic as well, ensuring best documentation practices which are essential for maximizing revenues.

I had a great experience at Dr. Suleiman’s office. Monica at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful with the check-in process. I was able to be seen right away. Dr. Suleiman was very kind and showed genuine care during the visit. I especially appreciated that she took the time to listen to my situation and asked thoughtful questions to try to provide the best care. In my past experience, this is been hard to find. I feel very thankful to have found her will continue to use her for future visits. Thank you Dr. Suleiman!

Dr. Aishah Suleiman was such a great listener, she asked all of the right questions about my health and made sure nothing was missed.
