About Dr. Alan Naim
Dr. Alan Naim completed his Gastroenterology fellowship training at The University of Arizona/Banner Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to his fellowship, he earned his medical doctorate at The University of Toledo, College of Medicine in Ohio. He completed his internship and residency at USC + LAC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. In clinical practice, he encompasses all aspects of Gastroenterology, with an additional focus on detecting colon polyps and removing advanced polyps using endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Furthermore, he treats bleeding disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, SIBO, IBD, and manages complications of GERD including Barrett’s esophagus, to name a few. He has completed research and has been publicized in fields pertaining to eosinophilic esophagitis, rectal cancer and autoimmune diseases, among others. He has been distinguished for his high adenoma detection rate in colonoscopy screening and takes pride in his thorough and systematic approach to endoscopy and colonoscopy. He enjoys caring for his gastroenterology patients using a holistic approach that incorporates a decreased reliance on medications and emphasizes healthy lifestyle choices and a clear understanding of their disease process. Dr. Naim is a Los Angeles native and has worked as a Gastroenterologist in the San Fernando Valley for three years. The staff is horribly disorganized. My medication, as prescribed by this doctor, requires prior authorization—which I informed them about and they disregarded by saying "we will see"—but despite calling twice a week for almost two months, they have still not filed the prior authorization forms. They forgot to charge me for my appointment until I reminded them. I have never seen an office run this poorly as a patient. I strongly encourage people not to see this doctor.

Not the best and not the worst. The provider took an incomplete history, no social history and did only a cursory exam. He seemed to have his conclusions in mind before I even got there, and mostly recommended adding tests I'm not sure were needed that he would perform at added costs. Eye contact was poor and overall bedside manor could use some work, explanations lacking. I was not confident he really knew what he was doing. While not the worst, I felt like he was overselling procedures and not really on top of the problem.

Dr Naim is very professional, kind, and a good listener. He listened to me explaining my symptoms and constant pain.
He explained the results of my MRI clearly, and what needed to be done.

Very disheartened by my experience with Dr. Naim. I'll preface this review by mentioning while I waited to be seen, I saw a medical sales rep show up/speak to office folks and drop off samples. I didn't think too much of it at the time except that the optics of it look weird. Once I see the dr, he asks me the perfunctory questions. I see him checking his watch a few times and I already have a sour feeling. Next thing, the course of "treatment" is try out various meds to see which ones work best. Then he gives me some samples. He didn't try to determine any other potential root causes or even ask if I wanted tests run. Before I drive out, Dr. calls and asks if I got an exam done. Weird question to ask since he was the only Dr. to see me and knew he didn't perform one. I go back up to the office and he does an exam. I debated writing this review but I think it's important for drs to be held accountable and not make their patients feel like guinea pigs or worse, just another statistic.

Dr. Naim was personable and thorough in his questioning of my symptoms. He answered all of my questions, scheduled a follow up appointment, ordered some labs for me to complete & gave me numerous tips for dealing with my sour stomach/ stomache-aches in the meantime.
The office parking was affordable, easy to navigate, and his nursing staff was friendly & helpful.

The doctor was good and listened carefully.
The problem started after we scheduled a colonoscopy, I was supposed to receive a prescription which I never did. I tried to contact the office a few times, left voice mail, sent an email and never got a reply from them. As I did not receive a prescription I could not prepare and missed the procedure. Even after the day of the procedure I never received any call, I cancelled the next appointment with the doctor and the procedure took around 2 months of my time.

Great experience! Doctor listened to concerns and had a keen awareness of what is probably going on with my GI tract. I didn’t wait long and the follow up appointments were scheduled with the very friendly women in the office. They made sure to book me at a surgical center that was fully covered by insurance since he works with multiple locations so I appreciated them being mindful of that.

Came in just to request specific testing to look at with my homeopathic doc, but Dr. Naim had a very affirming vibe, so I got into all of my symptoms and experiences that had previously been responded to by GIs with things like "I dont know but let's try antibiotics" or "It sounds like it's mostly a mental issue". Dr. Naim was so validating, ordered testing and shared knowledge about what was normal and what was not without giving me a long list of potential diagnoses, which was soothing to me. He was also very validating about me not wanting to do antibiotics, mentioned that he also employs natural remedies, and he even asked to see my tongue which I would not expect from a western doctor! Overall it was a wonderful visit, and I'll hopefully have more information about my health and a treatment plan within a month! The other workers in the office are very nice as well, though if you're booking on zocdoc don't bother doing the paperwork online beforehand, you'll have to do it irl.

My visit was super easy, the staff was super friendly. Had an appoinment and arrived early since it was my first time there. The doctor was 10/10, asked me all the necessary questions and explained everything in fine detail for me to understand. He made me feel confortable which is what you want from a doctor. Have a following up visit in a couple weeks and I am sure the experience will be the same or better.
