Dr. Alan Schneider, MD

Dr. Alan Schneider, MD

Psychiatrist
CA
Feeling better is not enough. Few patients or their doctors recognize the difference between a reduction in symptoms and restoration to full functioning. In my career as a psychiatrist, patients who come to me from other doctors are usually only partially improved. Today, we are struggling with an overburdened medical system where limited consideration is given to the patient’s complete restoration of functioning. I have intentionally kept my practice size limited in order to devote more time to each person I treat. I began this approach in 1987 and continue it to this day. I treat each patient like a family member, with the goal of helping you achieve your best and most fulfilled self. I take pride in the relationships I have built with my patients, many of whom have been with me for over 20 years. I have helped people through all stages of their lives, with all the associated ups and downs. My approach includes a combination of psychotherapy and medications when appropriate. I am Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Addiction Medicine, and Geriatric Psychiatry. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Southern California, completed my residency in Internal Medicine, and further trained in Psychiatry and Neurology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
