I have seen several doctors over the years and Dr. Herrera is the first one who takes the time to review my bloodwork results with me to explain them, even when they come back looking good. He is very thorough to make sure that all aspects of your health are addressed. I have hypertension and so I have EKGs at his office. I have early menopause, so I have had the bone density screen. He makes sure I see a dermatologist and gynecologist annually. I appreciate the time he takes to answer all my questions, as well, and he is always pleasant.”

About Dr. Albert Herrera
Dr. Herrera joined Mount Vernon Internal Medicine in 1989. He has been serving as its President since 2008 while practicing at our Lorton location. Dr. Herrera began his residency at Yale University- St. Vincent’s Medical Center and finished at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and was on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Society of Medicine, the Doctors Health Medical Group and the Medtrust Medical Group. He also served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine of Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital and was on the Board of Directors at INOVA-Signature Partners Accountable Care Organization. He has also been serving as the Medical Director of Manor Care Alexandria and Arlington Nursing Center.
