About Alexa Toohey
Alexa M. Toohey MSN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Over the last four years, she has worked as a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner in Maryland, providing medical and cosmetic dermatological care to patients. Most recently, she spent the last two years at Johns Hopkins Dermatology, caring for a wide range of dermatological complexities. She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from The Catholic University of America and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Alexa was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing and received the Dean's Award for academic excellence in Master's studies. Prior to working as a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, Alexa was a Clinical Nurse for six years at Georgetown University Hospital, working in the PACU. Alexa received her Bachelor in Nursing from James Madison University. She is a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Dermatology Nurses Association. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending time with family.
