While on faculty, Dr. Cole served as the medical director of the inpatient psychiatric unit at UT Southwestern’s Clements University Hospital, was extensively involved in medical student and resident education, and served in a variety of roles in national psychiatric organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, Association for Academic Psychiatry, and the American College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Cole’s clinical interests include mood disorders and anxiety disorders. At UT Southwestern, he was extensively involved in UT Southwestern’s interventional psychiatry program, including evaluation for and administration of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine-based treatments, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). He retains a clinical appointment at UT Southwestern where he is a member of the interventional psychiatry team and continues to teach residents and psychology doctoral students. Dr. Cole is also a psychoanalytic candidate at the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center.
