About Dr. Alexander Fischer
Dr. Fischer is a native of the greater Washington, DC area, and attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he completed a double-major in Biochemistry and Spanish.
He worked in the field of occupational and environmental cancer epidemiology as a Cancer Research Training Award fellow at the National Cancer Institute for two years before starting medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During his medical training he took an additional year to earn a Master of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He completed his preliminary internal medicine internship at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore before returning to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for his dermatology residency training.
Throughout his training he has pursued dermatology research in population-based health, skin cancer prevention, and clinical research. He has presented his findings at national conferences and published his work in major journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology.
Dr. Fischer sees patients of all ages and is focused on providing patient-centered care. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
In his free time he enjoys travel, fitness, tennis, and playing piano.

The office is definitely a business. Packed waiting room, moving people in and out quickly. I was seen within 5 minutes of my scheduled appointment. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the medical assistant got me set up right away. The skin cancer screening went very quickly, the doctor spent 3-4 minutes with me in total, which I’m trusting is good since they’re the expert. It was efficient and very rushed.

I have a skin allergy. The doctor gave me medication advice very quickly. It is good. The entire visit lasted only a few sentences and he didn't tell me the cause of the allergy or some more detailed skin care precautions. Unfortunately, I felt I wasn't taken seriously.
