About Dr. Alexander Oparin
Oparin Medical is a self-pay virtual direct primary care practice. Full payment of $200 is required in advance to confirm your first appointment. This includes a 60-minute video consultation, a written assessment and care plan, and your first month of follow-up.
I offer concierge-level service through unhurried consultations, direct physician communication, and continuity of care. I am a board-certified family physician with 29 years of clinical experience in Russia, South Africa, and the United States. I also hold board certifications in obesity and lifestyle medicine. My work includes preventive care, chronic disease management, weight management, and the evaluation of complex health concerns. I review your history, previous investigations, and treatment to develop a practical plan around your needs and priorities.
Please complete the intake and consent forms before your visit. Your first month begins on the consultation date. Membership renews automatically at $200 per month and includes ongoing messaging and scheduled video follow-up when medically appropriate. You may cancel before the next renewal. I do not bill insurance. Medications, tests, imaging, and other clinicians' services are paid separately.
This practice supports an ongoing physician-patient relationship and is not an urgent-care or emergency service. I do not prescribe opioids or provide opioid pain management. Prescribing requires an adequate evaluation, relevant records, and appropriate follow-up. One-time visits solely for an immediate controlled-substance prescription or refill are not offered. Booking and payment do not guarantee a particular medication or same-day refill. Some concerns require an in-person examination, testing, or referral.
Care is available in English and Russian for patients age 12 and older who are physically in California or Kentucky during appointments. I cannot currently accept Medicare patients, including those wishing to pay privately.

I highly recommend Dr. Oparin. Over the years we had multiple consultations with Dr. Oparin to obtain second opinion for our baby daughter, aging parents and me and my husband. Dr. Oparin is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough and patient. He is very easy to talk to. You never feel like you are rushed and always feel respected. Dr. Oparin has impressive breadth of knowledge through his many years of experience. In addition he is always up to date with modern medical literature, treatment options and development of new pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Oparin provide unparalleled care that can not be found in any hospital and doctor network. His experience and knowledge of quick rotating patient system of other establishments allows him to invest invest time in your care. He actually listens and hears the patients without the "ticking clock" look as one may experience in other doctor's office. Dr. Oparin found the perfect formula of doctor-patient care that was long forgotten where is CARE is essential with solid action plan and a follow up to go over the action plan items. Once, one will experience the practice it will be impossible to go back to other medical office settings.

My experience with Dr. Oparin has been extremely helpful and positive! I had only couple of consultations, but it became very apparent that his professionalism and dedication to his clients set him apart. Dr. Oparin took the time to truly understand my unique situation with weight loss and gain, my current health needs, and challenges. He asked many question to create a full picture of my physical and emotional conditions in the past as well as in the present. Such wholesome approach helped him tailor recommendations to my personal needs and limitations. Proposed weight loss plan and nutritional options target to improve my lifestyle, making my goals not only achievable but sustainable.
