About Dr. Alexander Oparin
I am a board-certified family physician specializing in lifestyle and obesity medicine. Since 1997, I have practiced medicine in Russia, South Africa, and the United States. I am currently licensed in Kentucky and California and based in Walnut Creek, CA.
I offer telehealth services to patients in California and Kentucky and can also see you in person at my Walnut Creek office if that is more convenient for you.
To ensure the highest quality of care, I schedule longer appointments and conduct a thorough assessment of each patient’s unique health concerns. I intentionally limit the number of patients I serve to provide holistic, long-term care, equipping you with the tools and guidance needed for sustainable health improvements. My approach is comprehensive, personalized, and evidence-based.
Please note that I do not bill medical insurance and cannot accept Medicare patients at this time, even if they wish to pay out-of-pocket.
I operate under a direct specialty care practice model. In exchange for a one-time enrollment fee of $100 and a monthly membership fee of $200, you receive:
- Telehealth or in-person 60-minute appointments
- A comprehensive medical and lifestyle evaluation
- Personalized treatment plans, including behavioral interventions, prescriptions, and virtual follow-ups
- Ongoing, tailored care designed to meet your unique health needs and personal preferences
- Same-day appointments during office hours as needed
- Follow-ups via text messages, emails, phone calls, and video conferencing
- Medical and lifestyle management of chronic conditions, complete with behavioral support, education, lab work, imaging, specialist referrals, and medication management (please note that the cost of medications, labs, and imaging is not included; however, I provide access to low-cost alternatives).

I highly recommend Dr. Oparin. Over the years we had multiple consultations with Dr. Oparin to obtain second opinion for our baby daughter, aging parents and me and my husband. Dr. Oparin is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough and patient. He is very easy to talk to. You never feel like you are rushed and always feel respected. Dr. Oparin has impressive breadth of knowledge through his many years of experience. In addition he is always up to date with modern medical literature, treatment options and development of new pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Oparin provide unparalleled care that can not be found in any hospital and doctor network. His experience and knowledge of quick rotating patient system of other establishments allows him to invest invest time in your care. He actually listens and hears the patients without the "ticking clock" look as one may experience in other doctor's office. Dr. Oparin found the perfect formula of doctor-patient care that was long forgotten where is CARE is essential with solid action plan and a follow up to go over the action plan items. Once, one will experience the practice it will be impossible to go back to other medical office settings.

My experience with Dr. Oparin has been extremely helpful and positive! I had only couple of consultations, but it became very apparent that his professionalism and dedication to his clients set him apart. Dr. Oparin took the time to truly understand my unique situation with weight loss and gain, my current health needs, and challenges. He asked many question to create a full picture of my physical and emotional conditions in the past as well as in the present. Such wholesome approach helped him tailor recommendations to my personal needs and limitations. Proposed weight loss plan and nutritional options target to improve my lifestyle, making my goals not only achievable but sustainable.
