I consider myself a "people doctor" a physician who sees each patient as a multi-faceted whole person, not just a single symptom case. I listen, I ask questions, I hear what my patient's say as well as what their bodies tell me. This may take more time, but it is necessary time...to assure each patient receives the complete care she or he requires. The challenge of a difficult diagnosis inspires me. To look at everything,anything,to be ever watchful for those rare conditions,which can go undiagnosed and cause such prolonged suffering for so many. Dr. Fingesten has been my primary doctor for 5+ years. She's always very attentive and I never feel rushed. Because she takes so much time and care with each patient, there is usually a wait time (note: I tend to book the latest available appointment of the day so I probably get the compounded effect of wait time). I'd suggest bringing a book and all will be fine.

I waited about 45 minutes in the waiting room, but there was no waiting once I got to the patient room--Dr. Fingesten walked me in and got right down to business. She was nice but a bit brusque and businesslike. She listened to me and seemed to give real thought to my concerns, but that businesslike air did make everything feel a little rushed. I wish her bedside manner was a little better, but she does feel like a doctor that I can trust.

Pros: Efficient and helpful receptionist, a quick and thorough physical, and I felt confident that Dr. Fingesten was knowledgeable and capable. She listened to questions and answered thoroughly and patiently.
Cons: Long wait, somewhat rough job of drawing blood for tests.

Dr. Fingesten is a competent physician. Too bad that wait time to see her is SO long. Each time I went for a check-up or for an illness, my wait got longer and longer...and longer. Once inside the examining room, it's another long wait before Dr. Fingesten comes in - usually flustered - to look you over! The examinations are usually fairly quick. The staff isn't too friendly (except for the receptionist). Also, the waiting room is very dark and extremely HOT (you'll sweat even with the air conditioning on).

Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you would like, however, I dont mind. I would rather know that the doctor is sought after and busy than being able to get an appointment next day because they aren't great. Once you are in her office she makes you feel comfortable and is very knowledgeable.

Dr. Fingesten is my favorite GP. She is brainy, attentive, experienced, curious, and thoughtful. Her old school, hands on, approach to everyday medical problems is comforting and well worth the occasional extra 20 minutes in the waiting room.

Dr. Fingesten has been my Primary for the last 5 or 6 years. She's thorough and caring. I feel like I've found a small-town doctor in this crazy city. It takes a few visits to establish a great relationship but I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I waited an hour and a half for the doctor. And then when I was finally put into a waiting room, she came in and thought I was another patient and then said something like, "Oh shoot um okay, let's switch rooms." And apologized to the correct patient. She knew how long I had waited, and that I had to be somewhere in half an hour, so she rushed through the appointment. I appreciate her going quickly but she didn't even ask my name. Felt very clinical and cold. I got my blood work and whatever else one needs for a regular physical so she got the job done. But I will not be returning or making her my primary care doctor.

I was already ready to leave after having to wait more than an hour and a half, but to add insult to injury there was no apology from anyone about the wait.
But my real problem was the way the doctor delivered bad news. She was overly fatalist and dramatic, not comforting, and then never followed up. When I told other doctors about my experience, they said it was atypical. Never could recommend her.

Very compassionate, understanding and intelligent doctor. She did not talk down to me and she treated me like an equal. I have a high amount of anxiety so it's been difficult finding a doctor that makes me feel comfortable. I'm very satisfied with Dr. Fingesten, she was very nice.

My first appointment I waited over 2 hours before I was seen, and then I waited another 30 minutes in the room before I actually met with the doctor. Since then, I have had two follow up appointments where the waits were equally long, and I have received 4 bills for services that were not provided to me. I will be filing a dispute against these claims as both my appointments lasted all of ten minutes. Will not be going back.

Lovely, spent a lot of personal time with me, and discussed every little complaint I had. I waited less than 10 minutes, but was expecting a lot more (maybe that's because I was 10 minutes late myself)! She was wonderful and I felt really listened to.

Excellent. I would add another star if I could. I came in with a health concern, and Dr. Fingesten took a thorough history so that she could narrow down the possible causes. She is thorough and gets right to the point. The wait is a little long, but it's definitely worth it. I am choosing her as my new primary doctor.
