“Our daughter had a wonderful experience with Alex at AKP Speech! She did speech therapy with her for two years and in that time it completely transformed her speech, taking her from barely coherent to crisp speech that her teachers and classmates could easily understand. Alex is very kind and sweet and our daughter loved her patient manner. I enthusiastically recommend her. ”

About Alexandra Princiotta Lowe

Alex received her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from St. John’s University. She is a NY state certified SLP and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She currently works with the early intervention (ages 0-3) and preschool populations on speech, language, and feeding skills. Alex also works on fluency, articulation, apraxia of speech; and with people with aphasia and individuals with varying receptive and expressive delays. Prior to this, Alex provided speech language therapy to children on the autism spectrum; and accent modification in Barcelona, Spain. She started her career working as a school based SLP, creating and teaching social skill classes for adolescents. Alex provides therapy in both English and Spanish. She is both PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained and trained in DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing) for treating children with apraxia and articulation disorders. When treating individuals with sensory processing disorders and oral motor skills, Alex follows the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to feeding therapy. Aside from speech therapy, Alex has experience working with typically developing children, having taught English to toddlers in Spain and used dance in toddler development for over 10 years. These experiences have helped craft Alex’s approach as a therapist as she is able to benchmark against the speech and language milestones of typically developing children. It is important for speech pathologists to understand the progression of typical developing children so that they can assess and set appropriate goals for therapy.

Our daughter had a wonderful experience with Alex at AKP Speech! She did speech therapy with her for two years and in that time it completely transformed her speech, taking her from barely coherent to crisp speech that her teachers and classmates could easily understand. Alex is very kind and sweet and our daughter loved her patient manner. I enthusiastically recommend her.
Alex is simply amazing! She and my son, who has Autism, had an instant connection and he trusted her completely. She not only worked on speech goals with our son but feeding goals as well and was able to introduce a variety of new foods with virtually no anxiety experienced by my son.
We have worked with Alex both in person and virtually for three years and cannot recommend her highly enough. Alex has a patient and thoughtful approach to her practice, and she gives steady, non-judgmental guidance. She is engaging and kind, and we've been extremely appreciative of her wisdom, energy, and knowledge over this time. Thank you, Alex!
Alexandra is incredible with babies ! I was so concerned that my 8 month old was quiet and behind with his speech development. Within 15 minutes, Alexandra got my son babbling and mimicking her sounds. She taught me the tools to continue to develop his speech. I am so grateful to have found her. Her resources make me more confident in my son’s development.
My daughter and I love working with Alex - she is so amazing and patient with babies and I have seen so much progress since we started seeing her!
Working with Alex was so easy. I went into this with no expectations because toddlers are so unpredictable and because everything was virtual but Alex was really great at listening to us and providing guidance.
Alex has been amazing as a speech therapist for me. I’ve come along way with speech and she has really helped me to become more confident I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with their speech
Alex is so amazing, she has helped my family so much and we are just so grateful. She is very knowledgeable and quick! I don't know what we would have done without her immense help. She has taught us so many valuable tricks!
Alex is really the best. I went from having no idea where to start to help my child's stutter to feeling totally equipped to help him navigate the issue. After the first week, my son began showing improvements with use of one simple exercise we still use. Alex is so professional, courteous and very naturally great with kids. I have a child who is very easily disinterested in anything that doesn't directly align with his specific interest, but she made it so fun for him and kept him engaged. Highly recommend.
Alex worked with our son Oliver, who was diagnosed with mild Autism in late 2020. She was in every single way an asset to our family and we were so incredibly sad she moved to California. Our son Oli loved her. He was always looking forward to the days she was scheduled to come see him. Alex was punctual, super professional, deeply knowledgeable and resourceful. From the first call I had with her I felt so comforted, heard and like my hand was held. She was a wonderful communicator and honestly went entirely out of her way to offer suggestions, work schedule changes and just give her all to her craft. If you have the chance to work with her DO IT. We miss her!
Alex worked with our daughter for several years (ages 2-4), and had great success in helping her transition from an extreme picky eater to eating a variety of foods. Alex spent a lot of time building a strong rapport with my daughter to the point where my daughter considered her a close friend. We loved working with Alex, and recommend her to anyone looking for a pediatric feeding therapist.
Alex is amazing! She is proof that tele-therapy truly works. Without ever meeting us in person, she was able to build a relationship with our son in which he looked forward to sitting down and attending the 30 minute virtual sessions. She is an excellent speech therapist with an endless list of props, visuals, and techniques to capture any child’s attention. She is so creative and knows how to help a child feel less frustrated and more confident in their language development. She makes it light and fun so it feels like a virtual playdate instead of a “class” while at the same time evoking speech from the child and providing educational tips for the parents. The progress in our son’s speech says it all for us! Can’t say enough good things about her!!!
Alex is a fantastic speech therapist! She is enthusiastic, patient, committed, always well prepared and very knowledgeable in her field. She has been my son's therapist for a year. My son went from not speaking at all to speaking full sentences. He can now ask for things that he wants, he can express himself and engage in pretend play with his sister. He also has less temper tantrums as well. He is so proud of himself and has acquired more confidence. Alex is our support! Thank you Alex!
She is the best!

We started working with Alexandra after my 90 yr. old client had a mini stroke that affected his speech. Since he has a form of Alzheimers, we had concerns whether he would be able to relate to someone on a computer screen, but Alexandra was able to put him at ease right from the beginning. His speech has remarkably improved in such a short time. Alexandra brings a balance of deep professionalism and her fun personality to each session. I highly recommend her.
Alex Prince has been my son James' speech therapist for close to 2 years. Alex is the most honest, passionate, educated, devoted and trustworthy speech therapist and has truly played an instrumental role in my son's language development. Even during these uncertain times, Alex has managed to make our virtual zoom sessions engaging and productive through themed sessions and creative zoom backgrounds. Alex has always gone above and beyond our therapy sessions to ensure that family members are educated with the tools needed to help implement language exercises into James' everyday routine. My family and I feel honored to have gotten the chance to work with Alex, she is one of a kind!
