Getting to know Alexis Goss
I am a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I provide compassionate, evidence-based care for adults and geriatric patients, with a special focus on perinatal mental health, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and medication management.
My approach to care is patient-centered, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe in blending evidence-based medicine with each individual’s unique values, culture, and life experiences to create personalized treatment plans. The theoretical approaches I most often use include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive therapy, and trauma-informed care, alongside medication management when appropriate. My goal is to empower patients through education, partnership, and holistic strategies so they can feel supported and achieve lasting mental wellness.
My patient focus is on adults and geriatric populations, as well as individuals navigating the perinatal period. I most commonly treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I am also experienced in supporting patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions, with a focus on providing compassionate, holistic, and evidence-based care.
My communication style is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to share openly. Working with me feels like having a trusted partner who listens carefully, provides education, and helps guide you through challenges with compassion and evidence-based strategies. I balance professionalism with empathy so patients feel both comfortable and confident in their care.
I was drawn to mental healthcare by a passion for helping others feel supported and understood. My journey has been driven by the belief that compassionate, evidence-based care can empower people to heal, grow, and rediscover hope.
