I went in for a menopause consultation and was told that I was only perimenopausal, so she did not even want to hear about my complaints because it had not been a full 6 months of no periods. I wanted to talk about weight gain and metabolism and possible hormone replacement therapy and if it was right for me and I did not get to talk about any of those things. I was very disappointed and should have just seen my regular doctor. Lesson Learned.
