Hello All. I am Alicia Wilson. I am a doctorally prepared, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I strive to make sure that each of my patients and their families are reassured that I listen and hear them. Each treatment plan is individualized and supported by standard-of-care guidelines. I utilize my diverse experience as a provider in the emergency room, a family medicine clinic, hospice, urgent care, and a nursing home to apply thorough treatment. With my vast knowledge, I am motivated and dedicated to helping treat a person physically, emotionally, and mentally. I have experience in managing a variety of mental health disorders from school-aged children through the lifespan to geriatrics. I am competent in the diagnosis and treatment of depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. I also have experience working with individuals with various personality disorders. I stay transparent with my patients. I reassure them they are in a safe space with me. I disclose from the beginning that my proposed treatment plan is to make the patients the best version of themselves. If the patient feels worse and no better after an acceptable amount of time, they are encouraged to let me know. When treating patients with mental health medications, one of the main validated effects of treatment is given subjectively by the patient on how they are coping, growing, and feeling. After working as a Family Nurse Practitioner for 10+ years, I encountered a multitude of patients struggling with mental health. At times, I felt helpless in knowing how to help. I decided to gain knowledge to help fill the gap of limited resources for mental health treatment.
