About Dr. Alison Young
A native of Arkansas and Missouri, Dr. Young received a BA in American Studies from Carleton College in Minnesota. She earned her MA from the University of Mississippi and her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. Prior to pursuing a career in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, she worked for several years in the healthcare IT industry.
Following her graduation from podiatry school, Dr. Young completed a three-year surgical residency at AMITA Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago. During her residency, she treated a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Young is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, and American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. She is a lifelong runner and previously competed at the collegiate level. She now lives in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago with her husband and two children.
