My experience at the appointment was OK. I didn't feel particularly listened to and Dr. Hussain does not have an amazing bedside manner. I've been on my medication regime for +9 years, so I felt uncomfortable by the amount of changes she wanted to make after only 1 appointment.
We did not discuss my medication history or other medications I've tried. I left the appointment feeling very anxious and unsure about how to manage the potential side effects of making multiple significant changes simultaneously. I also did not appreciate how critical Dr. Hussain came across (I'm sure she did not intend to come across this way) of my personal choices.
I left the appointment feeling like I am doing everything wrong in regards to my health and I don't think that's right. But, her approach is typical of most psychiatrists. If you are actively in crisis, I don't recommend this provider. Otherwise, the appointment was typical.
