About Amal Amar
Dr. Amal Amar-Alattaby, DM, CNM, OBGYN NP is a women’s health clinician with more than 20 years of experience dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based women's health care. She specializes in providing comprehensive GYN services to women of all ages, with a strong commitment to patient education, prevention, and culturally competent care.
Dr. Amal offers a full spectrum of gynecologic services, including annual well-woman exams, Pap smears, STI testing and treatment, contraception counseling, birth control management, menstrual and hormonal concerns, perimenopause and menopause care, and management of common GYN conditions. Her approach is rooted in personalized, patient-centered care—ensuring every woman feels heard, respected, and empowered in her health decisions.
In addition to her clinical practice, Amal has an extensive background in academic leadership and women’s health education. She currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where she helps train the next generation of women’s health providers.
With a longstanding commitment to health equity, Amal has devoted her career to serving diverse communities and creating a supportive, inclusive environment for all patients. Her goal is to make high-quality gynecologic care accessible, comfortable, and tailored to each woman’s unique needs.

I would recommend NP Amal Amar to anyone looking for one. She’s very nice, friendly, understanding and easy to talk to. She’s a great listener and was very understanding of my concerns. The office staff was very polite and friendly. The office was very clean. Im definitely returning as an ongoing patient.

I really liked Dr. Amal; she is an experienced and good doctor, and I recommend this office to everyone.
