About Dr. Ameeta Walia
Dr. Walia is a Board Certified Cardiologist who grew up on Long Island, and practices Cardiology in Lake Success. She received her training in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then pursued her Cardiology training at Beth Israel Medical Center, and gained additional expertise in cardiac imaging by pursuing a fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
She was formerly a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at State University of New York at Downstate. Dr. Walia has been involved in extensive research and has published in various prestigious journals, such as Journal of Nuclear Cardiology and European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging. She is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology and has earned a distinction of Fellow of American Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Walia has a special interest in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, valvular heart disease, and pregnancy related cardiac diseases. She sees patients with a wide spectrum of cardiac pathology, including premature coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis, and mitral stenosis.
