I believe in a holistic approach to health, including mental health. My focus is on patient-centered care using a combination of medication, education, and therapy, guided by evidence-based medicine and patient preferences to drive treatment. I hold a Master's in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and earned my Bachelor's degrees from East Carolina University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Appointments are available in 1 to 2 weeks, or sooner pending insurance confirmation. I am also willing to work with your individual finances.

What should a new client know about working with you?
In our first session you can expect a review of your medical and psychiatric history and medications with a focus on your current primary area of concern. Depending on the complexity of your condition it may take several sessions to fine-tune and adjust treatment to maximize your results. I look forward to going on this journey with you!

A copy of billing/payment for reimbursement is available, but patients must check with their insurance to see if the visit is reimbursable. Flexible payment terms for those who may be struggling to pay for their visits. I AM in-network for traditional NC Medicaid coverage.
If you schedule an appointment, but then realize you cannot attend the appointment, PLEASE try to cancel ASAP, preferably within 24 of initial scheduling as I will be charged whether we meet or not unless you cancel within 24 hours. I can also do this for you if you message me. Thank you.

Aimee Myatt is awesome and I highly recommend her. I have not had the greatest luck finding a good, helpful, and understanding PMHNP. I was shocked when I started talking to her because I automatically felt comfortable opening up to her. It felt like I was communicating with a best friend and I didn't feel judged or embarrassed about my ADHD. Aimee is super nice and a warm hearted person. She is understanding, knowledgeable, and relatable. I felt like I was actually being heard and not just another number. Aimee was thorough within the appointment getting to know me on multiple levels, which is a great thing when it comes to understanding your patient. She sent me the pre-appointment paperwork/questionnaire ahead of time and even helped me understand the insurance process. I am definitely going back! At the end of my appointment, I booked my follow up appointment. :)

It was such a wonderful to have a doctor actually listen to me, and understand why I felt the way I did. She didn’t make me feel uncomfortable in anyway. I will recommend her to all my family and friends… honestly anyone that will listen to me. Amiee was really great and I mean REALLY great. I’ve been to 3 other psychiatrists who have failed to properly classify my ADHD symptoms resulting in treating my side effects rather than the root cause. She even helped me resolve a billing issue with insurance and as you know with ADHD that was enough for me to give up with the process lol. First session went great, she’s easy to talk to and funny as well. If you feel like you’ve had a bunch of bad doctors and are skeptical about booking another appointment I definitely recommend booking with her to get on the right track. ????
