Getting to know Aminata Wane
Have you struggled to find a provider who will take the time to really get to know you and support you? It can be difficult to find a professional who is qualified and truly able to see and hear you. You might be experiencing depression, anxiety, or symptoms from past trauma. I specialize in helping people learn how to overcome these symptoms, as well as manage many other mental health and wellness challenges. Most importantly, I’m here to listen and help you understand yourself. By building the right skills, you can create your own toolbox to use anytime you need to feel more in control of your life.
I am Amina, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of South Alabama. This advanced training and experience allow me to treat mental health issues from both a medical and emotional perspective. I’m known for my ability to connect with patients and understand their experiences from their point of view. Together, we will create the best wellness plan for you moving forward.

I was a little skeptical at first with booking this appointment because this was my first time using ZocDoc. Overall, I highly recommend her. She’s very understanding and is an excellent communicator. She gets to know you personally on a very detailed level, which made me feel very comfortable. I was grateful she also explained the medication that she was prescribing until she knew I was confident. She reassured me that we would find what works for me and the what the next steps we would be taking.

I had to cancel/reschedule so many appointments on Zocdoc overall, because they say they take my insurance but don’t. I’m not notified of that until the last minute.
When I had my first appointment with this therapist I called to make sure my insurance was valid with them. They said at the moment they are not , BUT in April they would be. So I rescheduled for today at 11am.
I did not receive a text, call, nor email from this therapist. I only got an email and text from Zocdoc automated services to remind me of my appointment.
2hours have passed and still no updates.
I don’t know if Zocdoc or the doctor is who I should be highly irritated at. If it’s says it takes my insurance then i shouldn’t find out that it doesn’t until I drive and pull up at the location, or the day before when I’ve taken off for the appointment.
