I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. I provide comprehensive assessments for concerns related to ADHD, autism, learning differences, anxiety, mood, executive functioning, and diagnostic clarification. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and strengths-based. I aim to help patients and families better understand what may be contributing to current challenges and what supports may be most helpful across home, school, work, and daily life. Evaluations may include clinical interview, rating scales, cognitive testing, academic testing, attention/executive functioning measures, and social-emotional assessment when clinically appropriate. I have experience working with diverse families and provide services in English and Spanish. I strive to make the evaluation process clear, respectful, and supportive from intake through feedback. For families seeking testing, I review each referral carefully to determine whether an evaluation is appropriate and medically necessary based on the presenting concerns.

Getting to know Dr. Ana Lesquives

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me begins with understanding the referral question and making sure the evaluation is a good fit for the concerns being raised. I provide psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, not ongoing therapy, and my goal is to help patients and families better understand strengths, challenges, diagnoses when appropriate, and practical next steps. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. I try to make the process feel clear and supportive, especially for children, teens, young adults, and families who may feel nervous about testing. Evaluations may include interviews, questionnaires, review of relevant records, and standardized testing. The specific measures used depend on the referral question and clinical need. I take a careful and individualized approach. I do not believe every patient needs the same testing battery. Instead, I select assessment tools based on the questions we are trying to answer, such as ADHD, autism, learning concerns, anxiety, mood, executive functioning, or diagnostic clarification. After testing is complete, I provide feedback in understandable language and focus on recommendations that are realistic, useful, and tailored to the patient’s daily life, school, work, or family needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My evaluation process usually begins with an initial intake appointment to better understand the patient’s concerns, history, current symptoms, strengths, and goals for the evaluation. During this visit, I also review whether psychological or neuropsychological testing is appropriate for the referral question. If testing is clinically appropriate, the next step is completing questionnaires, reviewing relevant records when available, and scheduling the in-person testing appointment. Testing may include activities that look at thinking skills, attention, memory, learning, academic skills, emotional functioning, behavior, executive functioning, and social communication, depending on the reason for referral. I do not provide ongoing talk therapy through this service. My role is to complete an evaluation, clarify diagnoses when appropriate, and provide practical recommendations. After testing is completed and results are scored and interpreted, I provide a feedback appointment to review the findings in clear language. The goal is for patients and families to leave with a better understanding of what the results mean and what supports may be helpful at home, school, work, or in treatment planning.
