“Anca is so pleasant and caring. I had blood drained and someone told her I tend to pass out when I get blood drained and when I got to her office she bought me juice and crackers lol. I thought that was so cute and kind of her. She also listened to my needs and provided feedback for everything. She gives you the will of coming back to that clinic just for her. She is very thorough with exams which it gives me a peace of mind that someone test you for things that other primary care doctors don’t test for.”

About Anca Stuparu
We are thrilled to welcome Anca Stuparu, NP, a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner, writer, and cultural ambassador, to the EMU Health team. Anca brings a wealth of experience in Women’s Health, Emergency Medicine, and Primary Care, with a compassionate, integrative, and holistic approach that emphasizes gender affirmation and psychological well-being. Fluent in French, Spanish, German, and Romanian, Anca’s diverse background enhances her ability to connect with and care for patients across cultures.
Anca completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at The City University of New York, earning her Master of Science in Nursing Practice from Lehman College. She is Board Certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Family Medicine and holds a dual undergraduate degree in Nursing from CUNY and French Language and Literature from The University of West in Timisoara, Romania. Her commitment to specialized care led her to pursue doctoral studies in Women’s Health at The University of Minnesota.
Her extensive career includes roles as an OB-GYN Emergency Medicine NP at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center since 2014, and at New York Surgical Specialists, a Lenox Hill-affiliated practice specializing in breast disorders. She also holds privileges at New York Presbyterian at NYCH (now Maimonides affiliated), Queens Hospital, and has worked with Northwell Health GoHealth Urgent Care. Anca played an active role on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting patient care through emergency medicine and COVID-19 management. Since April 2023, Anca has joined EMU Health, where she provides comprehensive care in both primary care and Women’s Health.
Anca’s dedication to patient-centered care, her broad clinical experience, and her contributions to cultural and literary fields make her a wonderful addition to the EMU Health team. We are excited to have her expertise as we continue to offer compassionate and individualized care to our community.

I’ve seen Dr. Anca a few times now, and she’s easily one of the best practitioners I’ve encountered since moving to Queens. While the wait during my first visit was a bit long, I completely understood—some appointments naturally take more time. On my second visit, I was seen much more quickly. Dr. Anca is kind, patient, thorough, and has a very personable approach. The entire staff is also fantastic—friendly, calm, and professional. The office itself is clean, well-organized, and welcoming. After a long search for the right physician in Queens, I’m happy to say I’ve found the one!

My first appointment was canceled with no explanation, I rescheduled for later that day and she was a NO CALL NO SHOW NO EXPLANATION. I called and reached No one but a full mailbox. Quite frustrating when you set aside time to ensure you are ready on your part, It comes off as unprofessional unfortunately.

I recently visited EMU Medical in Glendale for a physical exam with Dr. Anca Stuparu, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
While Dr. Stuparu was pleasant, she wouldn’t let me speak, rushed through the appointment, and seemed more focused on sending me for multiple specialist referrals rather than listening to my medical history. I felt unheard and dismissed.
The medical assistant, Marina, arrived late and was visibly upset, likely because she had been yelled at by multiple doctors in the hallway. When she entered the room, she was rude, sighing, and rushing through the entire appointment. Her attitude was completely inappropriate for a medical setting.
During the blood draw, she was careless, which resulted in excessive bleeding and a massive bruise—something I’ve never experienced before. She even noticed my bleeding and told me to remind her to change the bandaid, but she never did. The EKG was rushed, and she yanked the stickers off of me before abruptly telling me to get dressed and disappearing.
To make matters worse, I was left sitting in the room for 30 minutes with no communication from anyone. Dr. Stuparu happened to pass by, saw me still waiting, and was shocked. She apologized profusely, but by then, the damage was done.
This was by far the most unprofessional and unpleasant medical experience I’ve ever had. From the lack of bedside manner to the outright negligence, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would.

10/10! Everyone greeted me nicely. The moment I walked in I was helped right away. Front desk assistant were so helpful and friendly. The doctor was really nice and funny. She made me feel super welcome and comfortable. & everyone was helpful in every way possible. & No complaint from me. & Doctor recommended to see me again because even the smallest thing to me she was concerned.
