He clearly explained how he was going to relieve the pain to give short term gains but also how he planned to address the root cause of the issue for long term relief. This felt very reassuring and also aligned with the feedback I had gotten from my orthopedic surgeon.

About Dr. Andreas Schwerte
Andreas Schwerte, O.M.D., L.Ac., has been working with patients in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout Europe for over 25 years. He specializes in the treatment of pain, reproductive health, allergies/autoimmune and hormonal disorders, as well as stress-related illness. His patients highly praise him for his exceptional skills, knowledge, and compassionate, personable approach. Dr. Schwerte is dedicated to helping his patients start and maintain their path to health through personalized treatments, state-of-the-art diagnostic testing, and the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine.
Dr. Schwerte is a National Board and California State Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc), and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (OMD). He received his Master of Science degree from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences, and his Doctoral degree from South Baylo University in conjunction with the University of California San Francisco. Before coming to the United States, he was trained at the Ruhr University School of Medicine in his native Germany. He is also a former member of the teaching faculty at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Science in Oakland, California.

Andreas knows what he's doing! We chatted about my condition and then he knew what he needed to do. Had me lie down and he pin pointed where I would need the most care.
I walked out of his office feeling relief. He only did a little bit, but I'm going to see him again to get more acupressure done! He is definitely work the visit!

I have been seeing Andreas for many years and cannot speak highly enough of him and his care. I have seen him for a wide range of things, from anxiety, to a shoulder injury, and back pain; but primarily for reproductive health during IVF treatments. I truly believe the success of my fertility treatments was due to his care, and for that I will be forever grateful!
Andreas is a wealth of knowledge, patient, empathetic, and incredibly kind. He goes above and beyond for his patients, and it's truly appreciated! I would recommend Andreas to anyone!

Andreas is first class.
He is a highly skilled acupuncturist. I have gone to him for everything from digestive issues and sleep problems to musculoskeletal injuries including serious shoulder, hip, and knee injuries.
I have been a patient of Andreas’ for 5 years and his bedside manner and conversational nature is just as good as his medical expertise.

After a wrist and forearm injury that was not healing with traditional therapy or time, I decided to visit Andreas on the recommendation of a trusted friend who recovered from a similar issue. My experience with acupuncture with Andreas has been nothing short of life changing.
His commitment to the practice and his ability to provide clear and concise rational combined with effective treatment to areas of pain and discomfort that did not respond to other forms of treatment has been super helpful. I highly recommend Andreas for anyone seeking help and relief from aliments related to the body. Although I’ve not used his herbs and other medicinal therapy, he’s inspired immense confidence and I highly recommend him as a professional.

After suffering sharp abdominal pain for over a year and unsuccessfully attempting discovery through typical western medicine approaches such as MRI, ultrasound & colonoscopy, a friend recommended acupuncture with Dr. Schwerte. During the initial consultation, Dr. Schwerte listened to my concerns and soon came to a probable cause. The first few treatments were tough as the therapy required intense rehabilitation from years of bad habits but over the course of treatment, the pain has completely subsided allowing me to live without constant discomfort. Besides the treatments, Dr. Schwerte suggested strength building exercises to maintain fitness and avoid the possibility of relapse. I'm beyond grateful for his expertise and help getting me back to normal and highly - very highly - recommend him.

I've been going to see Andreas since January 2022, and he has helped me with several injuries. from sprained fingers, and overworked muscles from construction and exercise. I even went to see for an auto accident because the regular treatment wasn't sufficient.
His knowledge and expertise and bedside manners are worth the trip a cross the bridge. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Andreas is a fantastic practitioner. He has immense knowledge of both eastern and western medicine.
I see him for dry needling, and he is definitely the best acupuncturist I’ve ever seen. Before him, I had seen 4+ other practitioners, but he is by far the best - he is the most knowledgeable, effective, and respectful!

After trying several other treatment options without any results I made an appointment with Andreas Schwerte as a last resort. First he listened carefully to my problems. Next he took a great amount of time to diagnose and to set a treatment plan. After only one session I felt 10 times better than with any other options I tried. For any future problems Andreas will be my number one source for help. He is an amazing human being and I'm so glad I found him.

I've been seeing Andreas for over 5 years, after initially being recommended to him for a debilitating pinched nerve in my neck. I was in constant pain for over 6 weeks and within 2 visits he had reduced the pain and constant discomfort by 90%. Since then I have been going to Andreas acupuncture once a week, regardless if I have neck or back pain. When I have back pain, sometimes 1 acupuncture session will eliminate the tightness, and 2 sessions will usually get me fully mobile again. I workout often and play golf and tennis and ski and Andreas has become part of my weekly routine to keep me fully mobile and out of pain. Highly recommend his services and I look forward to the acupuncture sessions, as those needles are my friend.

Andreas is beyond gifted in his ability to treat and care for this patients. I was having some back issues and a friend of mine told me, "you must go see Andreas". I continued to put off seeing him, as I had seen a few acupuncturists before to no avail. And frankly, I'm not the biggest fan of needles.
Looking back, I'm so grateful I ended up making an appointment with him, because not only did he fix my back --but he also healed my whole body. That was over 15 years ago! ... And that was the best decision I have ever made regarding my health. I still see Andreas to this day. He has continued to help me maintain my health and even had to put me back together again a few times, after some bumps along the way of life.
I can't recommend him enough.

I have been a patient with Dr. Schwerte for several years and during that time have seen him for different ailments. At each juncture, Dr. Schwerte was thoughtful in his approach. He fully explained the diagnosis, the course of treatment and my responsibility toward healing. In each case, I found immediate relief and long term results that have enhanced my well-being. In addition to direct muscular/nerve care, Dr. Schwerte also takes the time to understand your overall well being and has been instrumental in proper stress relief and relaxation techniques and treatments that has allowed me to weather the constant changes in the world around me. Dr. Schwerte is truly a partner in my wellness plan.

I started seeing Andreas in 2017. Initially I went for a very bad sinus infection. I was on my second round of antibiotics when I went to see him. Nothing was working. After a pretty intense and worthwhile treatment plan my sinus infection cleared. I’ve been going to Andreas ever since for any kind of infection such as sinus infection or UTIs. I’ve also gone for muscle eches and other medical issues! He is a very knowledgeable Doctor Who listens to you and takes great care of your issue. I’ve recommended Andreas to all of my friends.

Dr. Schwerte's diligent treatments have saved me from two serious surgeries in the past 10+ years, latest being an unavoidable back surgery according to two UCSF professors and one of the top Neurosurgeons! (80% of my spine was blocked due to a herniation at S6/L1 and I was almost 100% immobilized, so visiting his office was an extremely painful experience ) The other one was about ten years ago when I developed a major hip trauma due to extreme sports.... Again, a few expert doctors found the only solution to be an intrusive hip surgery after having exhausted all sorts of therapies. The one therapy I did not give up and insisted on going back to was Dr. Schwerte's. And it did pay off!!... So, better later than never, I am trying to give him the best review that I can so that he can help someone else like you to heal. I have also worked with other acupuncturists, and Dr. Schwerte's very direct and intense approach is par to none. Besides the two major injuries which required multiples visits per week for extended periods at time, I really appreciate the occasional visits now, where a tweaked muscle, a stiff shoulder or a back spasm is resolved in one session. I am very grateful and can't recommend him enough!

I've been seeing Dr. Schwerte for a little over 2 years, initially at the recommendation of my chiropractor for treatment of a particularly stubborn bout of lower back pain. I've dealt with chronic back pain for the past ~22 years and this was my first experience with acupuncture.
To be honest, I was skeptical. It's not that I didn't believe that acupuncture could help people, it's more that I didn't quite believe that acupuncture would help ME when nothing else I've tried has consistently helped. I was wrong. When my back is flared up, an appointment with Dr. Schwerte offers almost immediate relief, and when it's not flared up, I visit monthly to keep my back as healthy as possible. I am currently 11 months (and counting!) with no flare ups!
Not only is Dr. Schwerte excellent at his profession, he's also easy to talk to and he makes the appointments as comfortable as possible (soothing music, blanket and heat during treatment, if desired). I love my appointments because it also forces me to unplug and relax for the duration of the treatments. I admit that I've actually fallen asleep during treatment more than once!
My only regret is not finding Dr. Schwerte and trying acupuncture sooner; I could have saved myself literally years of pain. If you have chronic pain, I cannot recommend him highly enough!
