Dr. Andrew Jackenheimer, MD

Psychiatrist
115 NE 100th St, Ste 300, Seattle, WA
Dr. Jackenheimer began his career helping people with severe mental health issues in Snohomish and King counties. He quickly noticed that outpatient mental health services were difficult to access and became aware of the potential harm that long-term use of certain psychiatric medications could have on physical health. Motivated to make a difference, he sought ways to improve mental health care while protecting patients' physical well-being. This pursuit led him to Mindful Health Solutions, where a team of dedicated psychiatrists uses the latest research, technology, and medicines to reduce side effects and speed recovery. Dr. Jackenheimer is optimistic that this modern approach encourages patients to adhere to their treatment and achieve sustainable recovery over time. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University, completed his internship and residency in Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, and further trained in inpatient psychiatry at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Jackenheimer believes his role as a psychiatrist is to clearly explain all treatment options and work alongside patients to reach their health goals. He strives to provide a comfortable space where patients feel safe expressing their needs or discussing symptoms affecting daily life. Staying current with the latest treatment advances is a priority for him, and he is dedicated to recommending the best options-the same ones he would choose for himself or his loved ones.

If I wanted psych meds I could look up the medications by my symptoms and review the side effects to determine what I thought might help. The doctor clearly stated he was a doctor and prescribed medications. I thought there would be more to this appointment than just a shop doc. I’m a nurse and have referred many patients to psychiatrists who did more then just talk meds, how they worked and the side effects of those meds. Unfortunately those psychiatrists have retired. Such a shame if that’s what psychiatrists are today. What a waste of time and hope.
