About Dr. Angela Kim

I had a great experience with Dr. Kim. I personally would go somewhere else if looking for help with birth control since they don’t allow any method besides the pill. Go to an OB where you have more choices. If you just need normal PCP care she is great and very nice.

Dr. Angela is truly the best primary care doctor I have ever gone to. She is kind and listens to your problems in detail. She explains things in a way I understand. During a physical or follow up she is very thorough and asks all the questions relating to your lifestyle to get a better picture. She never rushes me and always answers my questions. I am moving away and really sad I’m losing such an incredible medical provider. 10/10 would highly recommend if she has availability. Everyone in the office is always so sweet and I never have waited more than 5 minutes. Love everything about my experience with Bayfront.

Angela and staff were quick and efficient! They actually looked through my records and information before I arrived which made the conversation flow smoothly and not get caught up in medical history. She gave me price friendly options for my concerns as well instead of dismissing them or trying to refer me to another doctor or specialist.

I really like Dr. Kim, she is intelligent and takes time to explain things. Also, the front office staff in house is efficient and kind.
However, I had a very negative experience with after hours care. The on call doctor I contacted on a Saturday morning, as directed when new symptoms popped up during an acute illness, was quite rude and dismissive. I ended up admitted to the hospital for an emergency procedure after I called and was told he “couldn’t see my chart, she probably meant call during business hours if something came up.”
Thank goodness I didn’t listen to him!! If you have something that may require use of the on call, be wary of that. As I said, Dr. Kim herself is good, but the care doesn’t seem to be consistent across the practice.

I made an appointment with Dr. Kim for a physical at least 3-4 weeks in advance. When I arrived at the appointment, Dr. Kim informed me that I would not be able to receive a full physical because I would have to be a patient for at least 6 months or more before that is permitted. This is something that I believe I should have been informed of well in advance of the appointment. After seeing Dr. Kim, I was given an authorization form to go get blood work down the hall. After waiting 20-30 minutes, I was told that I would have to make an appointment at another center, because due to my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) I could not get blood work done without an appointment. This is another example where I believe Dr. Kim or somebody else should have known my insurance and informed me of that beforehand. It seemed like there was a lack of awareness on Dr. Kim's part and she should have been more forthcoming or aware of these items.

Dr. Kim is a great doctor. I was looking for a new PCP closer to me and on my first appt, we spent over an hour talking about my health. She’s a great listener and has put me on the right path to get healthy. She is very knowledgeable and will Google something right away if you bring up something, and then we discuss together. Not condescending in any way. Office staff very nice and good at following up.

dr. kim is fabulous. i felt heard. she did her best to listen to all of my concerns and take me seriously, she ordered adequate labs, and i received my results fairly promptly.
my only negative experience has been on the phones with the office staff. i tried several times to get into contact with dr. kim via phone with questions about test results, and the messages never made it to her to call me back. i ended up making another appointment to discuss next steps with her and ask some more questions, and the appointment was great, but i wish we could have chatted on the phone timely instead.

I do not plan to return unless it is to see another doctor at this office. My first time meeting Dr. Kim, and she made very little effort to get to know me, my health history, or my lifestyle. There were some things she talked about that I didn’t fully understand, and when I tried to ask for clarification I was met with coldness and a somewhat condescending tone. Furthermore, the reason for my visit had nothing to do with weight-related health, yet almost immediately she went into talk about BMI (an outdated, inaccurate, and misleading scale) and dieting, telling me I was at risk for morbid obesity. I am taller than average, am slightly overweight with a moderately average body size, and am very active. I have also struggled with disordered eating and a poor relationship with food my whole life, but Dr. Kim made no effort to learn this about me. I found her to be cold and impersonal and would not recommend her to someone looking for a more kind and sensitive practitioner.
