What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a thorough, thoughtful, and collaborative experience from the very first visit. I take time to listen carefully, understand your history, and clarify your goals before making any treatment recommendations. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized — there is no “one size fits all” plan. I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. When medication is appropriate, I use a measured, data-informed approach and adjust thoughtfully over time. I also incorporate supportive therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, and practical lifestyle strategies to support long-term stability and resilience. I practice from a trauma-informed, stigma-free lens. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, or substance use concerns, you will be met with respect, honesty, and transparency. My goal is not just symptom reduction — it is helping you move toward healing, balance, and sustainable recovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we take time to review your history, current concerns, medical background, prior treatments, and personal goals. I believe in building a clear understanding of the full picture before making recommendations. From there, we collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include medication management, supportive therapy techniques, lifestyle interventions, or coordination with other providers when appropriate. I take a measured, evidence-based approach to prescribing and adjust thoughtfully over time based on your response and feedback. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring progress, refining treatment as needed, and ensuring you feel heard and supported throughout the process. My goal is to create a safe, respectful environment where you feel empowered, informed, and actively involved in your care.

More information on payments and coverage

Insurance, Payments & Coverage Northern Lights Psychiatry Services is committed to providing transparent, accessible mental health care. We are in-network with select insurance plans and also welcome self-pay patients. Insurance Coverage Coverage varies depending on your specific plan (HMO, PPO, POS, EPO), deductible status, and behavioral health benefits. We recommend contacting your insurance carrier to confirm your copay, coinsurance, deductible, telehealth coverage, and whether prior authorization is required. As a courtesy, we verify benefits prior to your appointment when possible; however, patients are ultimately responsible for understanding their individual insurance plan and any associated costs. Copays & Deductibles Copays, coinsurance, or deductible balances are due at the time of service. If you have a high-deductible plan, you may be responsible for the contracted rate until your deductible has been met. Out-of-Network Benefits If we are not in-network with your plan, you may still qualify for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. We can provide a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurance company. Self-Pay Options Transparent self-pay rates are available for patients without insurance or those who prefer not to use insurance. Please contact our office for current fees. Payment Methods We accept major credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and secure electronic payments through our patient portal. Our goal is to ensure financial concerns do not become a barrier to care. If you have questions about coverage or payment options, please contact our office — we’re happy to help.
