About Dr. Angela Tomaschko
Dr. Angela Tomaschko is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee surgery. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Medicine from Boston University. She completed her internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Naval Medical Center, San Diego. Her areas of special interest and expertise include hip and knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, partial and total knee replacement, and the treatment of complex failed hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Tomaschko believes in providing her patients with a care plan tailored to their specific goals and expectations. She offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment options designed to help patients return to a life they enjoy and the activities they love.
She served in the U.S. Navy as an orthopedic surgeon at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center at Fort Meade, where she treated active-duty military members, their dependents, and military retirees. Additionally, she was a Staff Surgeon, teaching orthopedic residents at these institutions.
Outside of work, Dr. Tomaschko enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and traveling.

The doctor immediately put me at ease. I came to her thinking I needed hi replacement. She took my hand and assured me that I didn’t need surgery. She gave me medicine prescription and advised as much PT as I could get. That was March. I returned this week and she was impressed with my progress. The pain is lessened. She advised more PT and the gym!

The practice is part of MedHealth on the 5th floor of a small hospital. The paperwork + iPad only took 10 minutes (first time customer) and the staff was efficient. I was seen shortly thereafter with triage to find out what was going on. I only waited a few minutes to see Dr. Tomaschko who was awesome. She let me explain what I thought was going on: symptoms, history, pain, etc. then asked prudent questions, did an exam and talked me through some options -- the best bed side manner I have had in a decade. No pressure towards any particular treatment -- she gave me options and asked for my questions throughout. I did not feel rushed. Check out with the desk was fast and I left with my next steps in hand. Great visit.
