Getting to know Dr. Angelica Acree

Life has been stressful and it’s been difficult to cope with the multiple stressors and emotions we experience day by day. Sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly is wrong, and you may be feeling disappointment and a lack of direction and meaning in life. The majority of my clients come to me feeling lost, overwhelmed, confused, and wanting to figure out how to manage difficulties in life. I have worked with numerous individuals throughout my career in counseling centers who have experienced anxiety and depression due to events or relationships in their lives. I am confident I can help with my ability to meet clients without judgement, learn more and understand what they are experiencing, provide education and support, and help them in their journey. I also have 14 years experience working with individuals who have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, amputations, and/or other chronic health conditions, and they have been angry, sad, and want a better life. Throughout my years of experience, I have also helped support and educate many family members and loved ones when someone they care about has become a different person due to their brain injury. I have also worked with many caregivers and helped them with adjustment of their loved ones' medical issues, as well as individuals who are in the sandwich generation (i.e., taking care of children and their parents).
