About Dr. Anjan Chaudhury

Dr. Chaudhury received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and MD from Kolkata Medical College & Hospital. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center and Tufts-affiliated hospitals in England. He then pursued a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine (high-risk OB) at Tufts University. He was teaching at Boston University and Tufts University before transitioning to his own practice. He is a practicing OB/GYN and maternal fetal medicine specialist and is board certified in OB/GYN.
Dr. Chaudhury is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. He was recognized as the Best Teacher at Boston University and received a lifetime achievement award for Best Teaching. He has authored several book chapters and multiple publications in various medical literatures.
Dr. Chaudhury is known for his compassionate care. His practice interests include repeated pregnancy loss, preterm delivery, diabetes and hypertension in pregnancy, and targeted ultrasound.

I had a terrible experience at this office. I prefaced my 3:30 appointment by letting them know I had class at 4:30. This information was completely ignored. I came in at 3:20, filled out all the forms and didn’t even enter the examination room until almost 4:00. As a male gynecologist I assumed he had been educated on how to make women feel comfortable. This was not the case. He did a full breast examination on me in front of his assistant and even told me to “watch him”. He then proceeded to make me do it myself while he corrected me. When I had to get the Pap smear, he asked me several more uncomfortable questions such as if I usually shave. He then told me he could feel the strings of my IUD and asked me to feel them myself. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with that and was visually upset. He asked me to explain why I was upset. I didn’t end up leaving the office until almost 5:00. I came in for a simple STD screening and left feeling so violated.

He is the doctor i was looking for, that I never thought I would find. I can't believe how lucky I am. He is thorough, he asks questions, he listens, he advises, he is pleasant. The location is easily accessible for me. Office staff is helpful, polite, friendly, competent. A wonderful experience.

The doctor took the time to explain everything to me before he even started the appointment. He told me what he was going to do and used a booklet to illustrate it. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and answered all of my questions. Unlike most providers I've been to, he didn't rush me and was very thorough with the exam. I will definitely go back.

This doctor has terrible bedside manner. He refuses to be timely or efficient with care. Your time will not be valued and your pain treatment will take eons for relief. If you are in immense pain and seeking professional help from Obgyn Avoid this doctor at all costs

I called ahead to checked that my visit was covered and was told yes, I was in network. 2 hours after arrival while waiting for my procedure, I was told I’d need to put a large “down payment” that may or may not be reimbursed by my insurance. They also could not guarantee that the procedure would be covered at all because they did not call ahead about it.
The office is very dirty and very cluttered. I came in and he was dictating an email about arrangements for a person who died which was strange. Additionally, I was there for a birth control removal but the doctor was insisting I should do a Pap smear for some reason. I had to refuse 4 time which was uncomfortable. Finally, I made the mistake of mentioning a long term condition I had and the doctor would not stop asking me about it, recommending medicines (this condition was not his speciality and had no bearing on my OB visit) and telling me how terrible it is I have it after I made clear I didn’t want to talk about it.

I saw Dr. Chaudhury for a confirmation of pregnancy appointment, and he ordered a whole blood panel. While I was able to view the results online when they became available, I still expected some communication from the office to follow up, and never received one. When I followed up over a month later, the response was, "We tell all patients to look at their result in quest portal. It seems that you did not." With instructions to call them back to make an appointment because they'd like to see me next week... If you're looking for a responsive practice where you will feel cared for, look elsewhere.

Not only did they fail to schedule secondary appointments with radiology that we agreed upon, the medication they prescribed me (topical Lidocaine that they ensured WAS NOT ICY-HOT, to use in extremely sensitive areas) was never sent into the pharmacy, and when I got them to write a physical script, it was “illegible, vague, and unfillable” according to my pharmacy. We tried calling but the answering service was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. When I eventually tried to fill the prescription, it was icyhot. All the girls working the front desk, as well as the nurses were kind and lovely. The doctor, however, DID NOT CARE THAT I WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN DURING EXAMINATION. It brings me to tears thinking about how I was treated by this doctor. As a hard of hearing person, his excuse to continue his procedure while I SCREAMED FOR HIM TO STOP due to hearing loss is unacceptable. This is a clearly experienced yet uncaring practitioner who does not know when to leave his practice.

Very unclean environment. I told my PCP about my experience here and he was shocked about the lack of professionalism and cleanliness. There are dirty speculums in the sink and unclean covering clothes for patients. I ended up getting an infection from the tools used on me in this clinic. Overall, the health standards were way below anything I ever experienced. It was a traumatizing experience.
Very kind office staff. Only redeemable quality of this place.

Dr. Chaudhury was polite and knowledgeable. He checked on how I was doing throughout the appointment and explained all procedures to me before he did them. The office was clean and very COVID conscious. The only downsides were that Dr. Chaudhury seemed a little out-of-touch, but I have a general preference for female OBGYNS...

While it was great that the appointment was easy to book and that the office had availability within a week of my looking to see a doctor, I felt like my appointment focused too much on aspects of my health unrelated to my medical care or reason for being at the office. Also, the office is somewhat disorganized. I scheduled a follow-up appointment, but then received a confirmation the day before my appointment for a time that I noted I was unavailable, and couldn't get someone on the phone to reschedule until 3 hours before my appointment.
