About Dr. Ankita Sagar
Ankita Sagar, MD, MPH, FACP, is a primary care internist and academic physician leader with expertise in quality, clinical program building, healthcare management, and delivery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Sagar also completed a fellowship in Physician Administration at Northwell Health’s Center for Learning and Innovation.
She currently serves as the System Vice President for Clinical Standards and Variation Reduction at CommonSpirit Health. Dr. Sagar’s clinical interests include standardization of clinical quality, ambulatory antimicrobial stewardship, post-COVID sequelae, and the continuum of care for cancer survivors. She is a Council Member of the Council of Early Career Physicians for the American College of Physicians (ACP) and serves as the AMA Youth Physician Representative.
Dr. Sagar was awarded the 2020 Laureate Award by the ACP in recognition of her leadership in programs addressing physician well-being, physician advocacy for responsible public policy, and medical education. In 2021, she received the INSPIRE Award from the American Medical Women’s Association, honoring women physicians who demonstrate vision, integrity, collaboration, and service.
