With a Master’s in Nursing from Walden University, I take a fun, upbeat, and collaborative approach using progressive, evidence-based prescribed therapies. We offer comprehensive medication management tailored to each person’s unique needs.
My focus is on streamlining dosing intervals and minimizing side effects while being mindful of out-of-pocket costs.

What should a new client know about working with you?
I consider myself lucky to work in health care at a time when mental health diagnoses are becoming more accepted and better understood in our culture. I firmly believe that optimal health cannot be attained without giving adequate attention to mental health. Healthcare providers should work harder than ever before to meet the needs of people with mental health challenges. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, my goal is to advocate for patients and direct their care with understanding and compassion. My hope is that the care I provide will ease my patients’ struggles and empower them to live to the fullest degree possible.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
We will start off by meeting for a one hour initial visit. In that visit, I will get to know you, learn about your history, and discuss any medications you are on or have been on in the past. Then we will come up with a personalized plan of care to meet your mental health needs. Follow up visits to assess how you are progressing are 20 minute appointments and take place every one to three months, depending on your needs.

I have been getting treatment for mental health related issues for over a decade. This was the first time I had been seen so promptly with a provider that was actually qualified to work with someone with multiple diagnosis. I am also a crab and never like psychiatrists, but this time was very different! I highly recommend.

Carmen has helped me tremendously. When I first started seeing her, I was on a boatload of meds. I finally feel more like myself again. We’ve cut down on quite a few meds. I haven’t felt this way in quite a while. My suicidal thoughts are gone! Thank you so much for helping me in this journey :)

After much disappointment and VERY LONG waits from other providers, we were given the information for Alay. I spoke with Olivia, who was DELIGHTFUL!! She answered my questions and scheduled an appointment for our Son for Monday. Our meeting this morning with Ann Barbaro was EXACTLY what we needed. She listened, answered our questions, was compassionate and informative and most importantly, we finished our appointment with HOPE…. and we haven’t had that in a VERY LONG time!!! Thank You SO MUCH!!!!
