Ann Tran, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Assistant Fellowship Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Tran evaluates and treats a wide variety of urogynecologic conditions, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis, as well as various complex gynecologic conditions. She also performs a range of in-office procedures, from urodynamics, cystoscopies, and bladder Botox injections for management of overactive bladder. Surgically, she is proficient in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery. Prior to her medical training, Dr. Tran served as a research assistant in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Mount Sinai. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Icahn School of Medicine, where she twice was honored with the Resident Teacher of the Year Award and was also recognized with the Excellence in Patient Satisfaction Award by Mount Sinai Women and Children's Services. She went on to complete a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra, Northwell Health, where she trained extensively in the surgical and non-surgical management of all pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Tran is actively involved in research focused on the prevention of pelvic floor disorders, specifically looking at ways to augment the reparative process after childbirth. Her latest research studied the effect of vitamin C on the collagen structure of the uterosacral-cardinal ligament complex in postpartum.
