“Annie does a great job of combining education and guidance. She was able to make an accessible food plan for me, and help manage my expectations of myself. Change doesn’t happen all at once! We are practicing healthy habits that will turn into muscle memory, so when life gets difficult, it will be less likely that I slip into old habits. I am learning so much. Working with Annie has been wonderful so far, and I can’t wait to continue this journey with her guidance!”

About Anne Shutelock

The provider is not licensed in the state of WA. You can do this. I can help. Wherever you are on your health journey, that's where I'll meet you. What's most important to me is what's important to you. Change takes time, patience, and self-compassion. My goal is to get you back to the intrinsic relationship you had with food before the world got in the way. I'll leverage my formal training and lived experience to be the partner in health you're looking for. I hold a Master's in Community Nutrition from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. I focus on what we can add to your diet to ensure balance, real satisfaction, and adequate nourishment. I specialize in trauma-informed nutrition support for neurodivergence, disordered eating, cancer, and cardiac and pulmonary rehab. I've personally recovered from an eating disorder stemming from undiagnosed ADHD and PTSD and have learned how to eat and live well alongside these challenges. I have over four years of experience working specifically with elder clients (65+) and a passion for using nutrition to help aging folks stay active and independent as long as possible. I know the importance of honoring cultural and class context to create real-world, accessible approaches that fit my clients' lives. If I'm judging my client, I've failed. Shame has no place in my practice. I maintain a weight-inclusive Health at Every Size (HAES) approach informed by decades of research, aiming for body acceptance and food neutrality. I pride myself on being a safe practitioner for those struggling with addiction and mental illness. Whether we meet once or start ongoing collaboration, I am committed to understanding you and helping you understand your needs and strengths. I welcome skepticism and, with my research background, am happy to provide detailed explanations to your health questions, including reviewing studies and popular media.

I am so excited to finally embark on changing my relationship to food and improving my nutrition. Anne was awesome, thorough with her questions and super patient, highly knowledgable and kindly walked me through basics of gut health and other terms that I was fuzzy on. Its only been 1 session and I already feel empowered to build new healthier habits. Can't recommend Anne enough after a lifetime of struggling with my eating habits.
