About Dr. Anthony Festa
Dr. Anthony Festa is an orthopedic surgeon in his fourteenth year of practice. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Tufts University, and pursued a fellowship in sports medicine at the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Program. Dr. Festa is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). His expertise includes non-operative and operative treatment of sports injuries in pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients, ranging from recreational to professional levels.
Dr. Festa is an Associate Clinical Professor of orthopedic surgery at Seton Hall University. He serves as the Assistant Director of the orthopedic surgery residency program at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he is also the Assistant Director of the Sports Medicine Division and the Director of the Shoulder and Elbow Service. Additionally, he is an instructor at the Arthroscopy Association of North America’s National Learning Center, teaching the latest arthroscopic techniques to resident and attending orthopedic surgeons nationwide.
He has published extensively in his field, authoring multiple book chapters and dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the American Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and the Journal of Arthroplasty.
Since 2008, Dr. Festa has served as the head team physician for Seton Hall University. He is also an orthopedic consultant for Montclair State University, The New Jersey Jackals Baseball Team, and several local New Jersey high schools.
Dr. Festa has received numerous awards and accolades. The American Orthopedic Association (AOA) recognized him as an Emerging Leader in orthopedic surgery, and most recently, he was named Orthopedist of the Year in New Jersey by the Arthritis Foundation. He completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College.
