“Dr. Waqar is what we all want in a PCP. Her bedside manner was beyond impressive, and she was so warm and thoughtful throughout the whole conversation. She’s very thorough in trying to bring herself up-to-date with medical history and explains the importance of creating a long-term relationship with her patience. She was able to recommend fixes for any of my small medical questions and recommended what I need to do going forward to keep myself at optimal health. She spent a great amount of time with me. I have not seen a doctor go above and beyond in all areas as she did upon our first meeting. It was also extremely easy and quick to book an appointment, meaning I didn’t wait more than a few days. I cannot recommend her enough. I feel lucky to have found her! ”

About Dr. Anum Waqar
Dr. Anum Waqar is an experienced member of Summit Health's Internal Medicine team who joined Summit Health in 2018. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Waqar practices as an outpatient general internist and primary care physician, highly qualified to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, while also offering preventive care.
She enjoys developing lifelong relationships with her patients and strives to partner with them in making informed decisions about their health. Dr. Waqar is passionate about the roles of preventive care and lifestyle in patient well-being. She was inspired to pursue medicine by her father, who practiced internal medicine and cardiology in a rural area.
During her residency training, Dr. Waqar received the Mark J. Marmora, D.O. Memorial Award for excellence in osteopathic medicine and osteopathic manipulative therapy. In her final year, she was honored with the Internal Medicine Clinical Resident Award, recognizing the resident who best exemplifies excellence in primary care. Dr. Waqar is also a member of the American College of Physicians.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
