Getting to know Dr. Arif Noorbaksh

I strongly believe in meeting patients where they are in their individual journeys. The ideal client is one who attends their initial evaluation to talk through their experience and potential treatment options. It can be challenging to make the first step and reach out to a new provider to discuss mental health treatment. We often carry a lot of shame around mental health symptoms. My role is not to judge but to understand and work with you on a plan to get you where you want to be. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas at Houston and completed my residency in Psychiatry at its Southwestern campus. This training has equipped me to provide compassionate, individualized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I approach patient care holistically and attempt to develop an understanding of the patient’s lived experience and current symptoms. I discuss various potential treatment options and collaborate with the patient to formulate a treatment plan that will work best for them. Potential treatment modalities include medications, psychotherapy, interventional treatments, behavioral interventions, and supplementation, among others.
