Dr. Arvind Shah has participated in the development of programs such as an intensive outpatient crisis intervention program which in turn has supported the prevention of hospitalizations of patients and the development of laugh therapy groups. Dr. Shah has worked with people in recovery and has put together suboxone groups to be held on early Saturday mornings to achieve a higher level of commitment from his patients to their recovery. Dr. Arvind Shah is an experienced psychiatrist who began his fellowship in 1983 at the University of South Florida in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit. Before coming to Bloom, Dr. Shah practiced at the same private practice for over 30 years in CT specializing in Child and Adult Psychiatric Services. Dr. Shah is a wealth of knowledge that he takes pride in being able to provide seminars on various topics such as: “Step by Step Strategies for Recovery from Addiction”, and “The Psychology of Weight Loss”, and leading group sessions for persons ranging in ages 10 years to 21 years of age.
