Patient reviews for Dr. Ashesh Patel
No follow up on blood work; not a thorough exam. Old and sketchy establishment in terms of exam rooms and general office space. Seems like an insurance cash grab location instead of a true medical establishment caring about diagnosing issues. The Dr. himself was nice.
This guy is awful, unless you want to waste your time and not get your test results, do not see this guy. I have never written a review of any type before - that's how bad this guy is. Seriously. Good luck calling and attempting to get your blood work. The receptionists will be annoyed with you and your call requesting that they actually provide you with your own your blood work, and then they will take your message, pretend to pass it on to Patel, and then you will never hear from them again until you call back a few days later and repeat the process. Also, the office is like an outdated Soviet bunker. I am not sure how their computers continue to operate. They are pretty much using the first computers ever built by Bill Gates. None of their files are stored electronically, there is just a big, messy wall of paper patient files. In sum, this place is garbage.
All of my questions were answered and I left feeling completely satisfied.
The good thing is that I was able to book an appt within 6 hours of when I needed one. The front desk and Doctor are fine as long as you don't expect to be greeted or talked to when you walk in or acknowledged when you're leaving. The attending assistant was very nice and had a social bedside manner. If all you're looking for is someone to check out a symptom you're having Dr. Patel is fine. I won't be using this office as my new General Practioner, tho.
Pleasant doctor, just wait time was hugely disrespectful with no explanation.
Best doctor in Washington DC imo
I've been going to see Dr. Patel for many years. He is a soft spoken and friendly doctor. He addresses all my concerns and keeps me up to date with my meds.
My visit with Dr. Patel was was professional, caring and timely.
I had scheduled a physical with Dr. Patel. I was seen until 75 minutes after the scheduled appointment time and I have to go back to get the bloodwork because I had to leave because I had other appointments. My actual interactions with the doctor were fine.
He and his assistant were highly attentive, as usual. This time I wanted his opinion on seeking specialized care for a wrist injury. Instead of just referring me to another doctor, he did a thorough examination of my wrist and offered some recommendations on how to care for my injury while I wait on my appointment with a specialist.
Dr. Patel is always pleasant, reassuring, and thorough. He remembers everything about my medical history.
Dr. Patel and his staff are always very friendly, thorough, and prompt. I would highly recommend!
Dr. Patel was courteous and professional. However, his office operations are dysfunctional at best; the front office is a mess and the records don't seem to have any filing system that works. His office hours are erratic and if someone doesn't answer the phone right away, it is impossible to get a hold of him. I called trying to get a prescription refilled and it took eight different attempts before I finally got a response--and even then, the doctor didn't return the prescription refill to the pharmacy. I would not recommend Dr. Patel.
This was the most unprofessional looking doctors offices I've been in. Dr. Patel asked me no questions that were not already on the check in form. They did not even weigh me or ask for a vaccination record. The blood test area was in an unkempt basement. The office and patient rooms are filled with overflowing biohazard containers and the office is using unclosed biohazard containers as storage bins for non-hazardous medical supplies.
Very nice and informative
Dr. Patel is great. I'm very happy he's my PCP.
Dr Patel’s staff was friendly and very cooperative today. I would recommend him to my friends and coworkers.
Dr. Patel does not follow up with patients like he did in the past. He use to call his patients and go over your lab work with you. I visited with Dr. Patel on 5/23, left three messages at his office requesting he call me and have yet to hear from him. This is the second time this has happened. It is very disappointing and will be my last visit with this doctor.
Honestly so dedicated! So friendly and approachable! I had some issues with my medication being refilled and Dr Patel called me after hours on Friday to fix it! I’m so thankful!
Excellent doctor. Can be difficult to get anyone on the phone, which was a problem this time since his admin assistant forgot to send in my prescription.
Medical appointment was good. Dr. Patel is an excellent doctor.
Rushed through my appointment, didn’t introduce himself, not friendly.
Good care overall. However, they never call back regarding blood test results unless they’re out of the norm. I don’t agree with that philosophy. Front desk staff not the friendliest. Inefficient and archaic records keeping.
Very disappointing. He didn't take my blood pressure nor weigh me, nor did he know anything about menopausal wimen and their risk of certain illnesses. He told me I'd have my blood test results back within a few days, that was almost 2 weeks ago and I've heard nothing since. The staff in the clinic were rude and unhelpful. I will not be going back.
The appointment itself was fine even though the close to an hour wait was annoying and he seemed rushed. But what really made me want to write this review is the lack of responsiveness to refilling prescriptions and how rude the front desk staff is. I called to ask if they had received a fax from my pharmacy and the woman was practically yelling at me saying they turn off the fax at 3pm so they didn't get it and essentially it wasn't her problem. I had my pharmacy resend it at 11am and they STILL DIDN'T REFILL IT! Also, I got blood work done after my appointment in the lab they have in their basement and it was so dirty in there. I won't be coming back.
Dr. Ashesh was great at listening to the issues I had and making recommendations and referrals. The nursing staff was perhaps having an off day but were generally pleasant. The lab area could use improvements bc it didn't feel like a professional space where bloodwork should be performed.
It’s a slightly quirky place but that’s what I like about it. And Dr Patel knows his stuff; he’s a caring man.
I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to be seen by Dr. Patel
As always he is is a consistently great doctor.
Dr. Patel is great. He's knowledgable and sensitive concerning topics around physical health. His front desk staff is rude, discourteous, and openly discuss patient names and other information in front of the entire waiting room.
Dr. Patel is very competent and efficient in his interactions, but his office is exceptionally poorly run. I had the first appointment of the day and waited for more than an hour before being seen. The front office staff were very rude to me, which was a surprise because I wasn't causing any trouble for them and did not complain about the wait time. I only saw Dr. Patel very briefly - he was kind but seemed rushed. He sent me to get blood work in short order -- this took a long time and there was lots of confusion about what kind of blood panel I needed. The technician was taking care of personal business on their cell phone and did not draw my blood for a while. The icing on the cake: the office never got back to me about my results. I finally got the results from the lab company themselves and have been trying to call Dr. Patel's office for weeks to get an interpretation of them. Dr. Patel has not called me back and the front office staff have been incredibly unhelpful over the phone. One of my findings from the blood panel was pretty concerning, but the doctor and office seem uninterested in helping me with interpretation. This has been a pretty upsetting and expensive experience and has provided me with no actionable information.
Dr. Patel has been my primary physician since 2006. He has been consistently friendly, knowledgeable, clear in his explanations, and obviously interested in his patients. His entire staff also provide a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
Visit was very good. Would be great if the doctor and his attending would slow down a bit when asking questions.
Dr. Patel was very kind and friendly, but I found the physical exam to be overly brief - just vitals and heart sounds. Also, the wait was 45minutes (despite an 8am apt and arriving 10min early) and while the support staff were friendly, things were quite slow-moving.
Went in for a wellness visit, waited almost an hour to get a room, and then almost another 30 minutes to actually see the doctor, unfortunately this isn't the first time I've waited, though thankfully not this long.
Dr. Patel's intern interviewed me initially. He was very kind and supportive. He briefed Dr. Patel, who came into the treatment room, informed of my situation with a treatment recommendation. I plan to return for a full physical. Dr. Patel's staff has taken a beating in various reviews but they were kind and helpful to me.
Dr. Patel is always great! The student Doc is also great. There is an older woman that’s been there forever that is awful and needs to learn how to engage with patients. Other than that, I have no complaints; it’s always a pleasure to visit with Dr. Patel.
A personable doctor, thoughtful and caring. It's like talking to a friend with expertise in medicine.
I have been seeing Dr. Patel for more than a decade now. I am very pleased with his care.
very good visit!!
Actual Doctor was great but the office mgmt was moderate/poor (front door marked office as closed and front desk attendant was rude).
The doctor and the medical student I saw were nice but very rushed. The wait time (an hour past my appointment time) was unacceptable, however. The location is also not conducive to privacy—I could hear the doctor speaking with a staffer very loudly about another patient’s symptoms and it wasn’t difficult to figure out who they were talking about. And the front desk staff were actively complaining about patients in the waiting room, which was less than ideal.
Terrible facilities. Rude staff. No respect to privacy or patients. Very unprofessional.
the consultation was efficiently organized and to the point.
I think the office needs to be better organized. There are office files and folders all over the place, which poses a risk of leaking PII. It’s also very dimly-lit and very unkept. The downstairs area where the phlebotomist was located was VERY cold. It truly needs a makeover. The entire office takes me back to a 90s style doctors office.
Visit was okay but when scheduling appointment you are talking to medical students for consultations and not Dr. Patel.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for more 10 years now. He's very caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Highly recommended!
