It was a good visit. However, it was a long wait to see the doctor and a very quick visit with him once I was in a room. I think they were just overwhelmed that day, but that wasn't communicated well.
Everything was great. The RN Jaime was excellent. I felt very comfortable throughout my visit.
A little bit of a wait but only about 30 minutes - well below a lot of other offices. Really great, kind doctor.
Dr. Patel pays close attention to what you say, takes his time in thinking about what you've said, and then discusses how what he's thinking with you. It's a one on one discussion, not a lecture. Great guy, great staff, highly recommended.
He introduced himself to me and quickly started to see me. He seems to be in hurry . I got what wanted.
Dr Patel is always efficient and kind. Would recommend his services to anyone.
This was by far one of the worst experiences of my life. I went to this doctor for seizure medication and he told me that he "chooses not to prescribe things". I have been on the medicine for over two years and am new to DC. I was not asking him to prescribe it, I was asking him to fill it until I could see a decent doctor. Let's face it, if you have same day availability you are probably a terrible doctor. I blame myself, but victims usually do blame themselves. I am a victim of Ashesh Patel. I arrived on time, had filled out all my paperwork in advance and had my ID and insurance cards ready. After being there for an hour he came into the room to tell me that he "chooses to not write prescriptions" and my only option was to go to the ER because legally they can't turn away someone. That's right. He admitted that I DID need this prescription or else I would have seizures, but said he refused to help and I needed to go to the ER. After discussing with my previous doctors and family; I will be seeking an attorney. He should not have a medical license. NO-ONE should have to go thru what I did. PS The facility is very small with thin walls so no privacy, it was beyond dirty (dirt and blood smears on the walls, a full used needle bin sitting out, etc.,) and the front desk staff is not helpful or knowledgeable.
Dr. Patel has an excellent bedside manner. He carefully listens to every concern and has a very reassuring manner. Highly recommend regardless of long wait. Seems like he's popular!
Long wait for the Doc. But he was cordial, caring, and patient. Explained everything, excellent care.
The office is pleasant and cheerful, the staff is friendly and professional, and Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable, thorough, and exceedingly kind.
Dr. Patel is great when he finally gets to you, but this morning the wait time was ridiculous. I waited for over an hour for my appointment. Even the secretary at the front desk complained about how appointments are overbooked and that there is no coordination between the front desk and bookings done in other ways (i.e. online). The guy in front of me left after an hour of waiting because he had somewhere else to be. This needs to be fixed.
Good diagnosis and patient connection.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Patel for a number of years now. Professional, responsive, and to the point.
Dr. Patel and his nurse practitioner were incredibly attentive to my needs and provided genuine care towards my condition. Unlike most doctors they actually listened to all of my symptoms before prematurely diagnosing me with the wrong condition. Both physicians made me feel very comfortable in their office space and I was seen right away. I will definitely be going back to Dr. Patel in the future and would recommend his office to all.
Dr. Patel is very good and I would recommend him. However, today I had an exceptionally long wait.
This may have been the worst experience I've had at the doctor's office. The waiting room was filled with at least ten patients all with appointments for the same time with one doctor. The receptionist was rude and dismissive when I inquired how much longer I might have to wait (she never let anyone know the wait time would be so long) since I had to get to another appointment. I was told the doctor had been on vacation for a couple of weeks and had a lot of back appointments. How is that my problem? Why would you schedule several people for the same slot with only one doctor? I expect to potentially wait at the doctor's office 10-20 minutes, but an hour plus is ridiculous. Save your time and energy and book elsewhere.
Effective, efficient and caring.
Dr. Patel is AWESOME! Very professional and mild-mannered, yet warm and funny. His office is very clean but isn't the typical sterile medical setting; it's intimate and cozy. A little cluttered but I find it to be charming more than anything. I've seen some of the reviews here complaining about "rude" staff; I have not encountered any rudeness at Dr. Patel's office. Happy to be a patient of his!
Dr Patel and his office could not have been less professional. I've been calling the office for test results and have not received them. I've also received bills for services not performed, and my calls asking about why I'm receiving the bills have not been returned. This is maddening and unacceptable in the medical community. If you care about good service and you care about knowing the results of medical tests, DO NOT GO TO DR PATEL.
Consistently good service. Front office is fantastic.
I have been seeing Dr. Patel for over a decade. He is the best Dr. have ever had. Does not over prescribe meds and encourages other forms of health and wellness.
As with all my other appointments, Dr. Patel met with me quickly and diagnosed the problem succinctly. As always, a really excellent and caring physician.
Dr. Patel is great ! I was a bit hesitant to come here because of the Yelp reviews however I am glad I gave it a try. The front desk guy was very nice and helpful so was Dr. Patel's intern. Dr. Patel himself is a bit shy but that does not take away from the experience. I highly recommend him.
He remembers everything about your medical history and makes educated decisions. His office staff is exceptional.
Dr. Patel is a good doctor, and he is a good listener. Spot on with his diagnosis! David
I'm biased because I have been the Dr. since he was assisting the former proprietor of that medical office. I am super happy with his service and his demeanor.
Dr. Patel was attentive and really listened to me. I didn't feel like he was rushing despite a full waiting room. However, the facility needs updating. I was almost too uncomfortable having blood taken, it did not seem like a clean doctor's office, it was more of a dingy basement. If the facility could be updated (or just cleaned and tidied?) and the wait time reduced, it would have been perfect.
I have known him for few years, He is extremely smart and very professional.
Not a good experience. Dirty office (dirt on walls in examination room) unprofessional staff (nurse asked me to go back to the bathroom and retrieve my sample and bring it to her while she is drawing another patient's blood in what appears to be a dual- use lab/staff break room - just kind of weird) and I'm STILL waiting for a call back on my results nearly a month later. Called four days ago asking the staff to have the doctor call me back to discuss my results and he hasn't done so yet. Logged into LabCorps website to review them and there are two "red" areas. Would appreciate knowing if my kidneys are working or not.
Dr. Patel is very nice but a little awkward. It's almost as if talking about medical issues with his patients embarrasses him. He seems like he knows what he's doing though. His medical student intern was more professional than he was in some respects. Also, the offices are pretty old.
Dr. Patel was great as always! Answered all of my questions and provided great advice on treatment options.
He is wonderful! M glad I found him!
He could have seen me sooner since I was one of the earliest patients.
One of the best doctors around, but the office staff could be a little more organized.
Wonderful doctor and caring staff.
I had complications from cancer surgery and Dr Patel is very knowledgeable about my concerns and accommodating to find follow-up solutions
Dr. Patel, and his staff, is always thorough and considerate.
Very pleasant experience
Office was running late even for a morning appointment & I was asked for insurance info repeatedly, which was annoying and suggests office disorganization. Actual meeting with the doctor was fine.
I'm a new patient and I don't see doctors often because the process is a pain. But my experience with Dr. Patel and his staff were nothing less than professional and even a bit relaxing. I'm glad he's not my official doctor!
I first came to Dr. Patel 2 years ago because of a serious back injury. I did not have a doctor in the area and his office was the closest. I think he did not take my injury seriously and proscribed painkillers and a heat/ice regiment. I returned for a few check-ups and he referred me to a PT who did not take my insurance. Two years later, I still have serious back problems with sciatica in my leg and foot. I made an appointment to ask for a referral to a local spine center with more resources and was treated horribly by Patel's staff. I realize it may seem insulting to ask for a referral, but I am only in my early 30s and simply want to be fully evaluated (x-ray, mri, etc) and move past this injury so I do not spend the rest of my life in pain. The wait times are long and the receptionist takes it personally, despite it not being her fault.
Mondays are overload for Dr Patel, otherwise great expdrience as always!
It was a very long appointment. I was running about 10 minutes late but from the time I got to the office to the time I left took almost 2 hours. Though I did need to get blood work and hadn't been to the doctors in about 10 years so I imagine it was just a lot of catching up to do. The student nurse that saw me before the Doctor was very helpful and sweet though and overall I felt like they wanted to help.
Dr. Patel was extremely attentive and caring, listening to my concerns and taking genuine interest in addressing them effectively (not just writing a prescription and leaving to the next appointment). His support staff were all friendly and nice. Dr. Patel was only here for half a day this particular morning, and as a result he was extremely busy, which probably contributed to my wait time. All-in-all, the appointment took about an hour and included a regular check up, consultation, and taking full blood work/urine samples.
I just came in for blood work and I had to wait almost an hour and half. It was ridiculous.
THE GOOD: The receptionist at Dr. Patel's office was the ideal medical professional: she promptly handled my paperwork and took excellent care placing me in the exam room and informing me of the usual in-take process, since it had been some time since I'd last seen Dr. Patel. THE BAD: However, that's where the good service ended. After waiting for approximately 1 hour to see Dr. Patel, I could suddenly hear the Dr. chatting about non-medical issues in the break-room next to my exam room. I gave him 5 more minutes to cease the casual chatting and check-in with me. When no one came in, I then left the exam room, walked past the break-room and back to the reception desk, and informed the receptionist that I could wait no longer and had to leave. Upoon hearing me speaking with the receptionist, Dr. Patel then called to me from the break-room and told me that he'd see me now. He rushed through the exam and quickly performed a step-test, as I had come in for a sore throat. He said that he didn't believe it was strep and that his office would contact me with the results. I left the office without a prescription. Then, I never heard back with the results. At no point did the Dr. or his office try to reach me. All in all, terrible customer service from the Dr. and terrible medical service overall. I would NOT suggest seeing this Dr.
Dr. Patel is great, but the staff in his office is less than efficient. Often times, you wait in the exam room for 30+ minutes and you still have to go out looking for staff so you can make sure that you are seen. When I asked the woman at the front desk when I would be seen she told me that I need to go look for a nurse or the doctor myself.
Always professional and provides thoughtful care in his work!
It was terrible. They have an issue with time management scheduling. I will not go there not recommended to freinds and family. Awful awful awful
Nice, Smart, and Great Doctor. Nice receptionist. Nice practitioner, and assistant. Great overall office. The morning appt. was great!
I feel the practice is very unprofessional when it comes to obtaining lab results and privacy. There are also staff members there that are not cordial or polite. Many times when you call the line continues to ring endlessly regardless of how reasonable the hour is. Ulitmately, I plan to look for another doctor.
On the positive side the woman who took my blood did not hurt. I don't like needles or the sight of blood and she was great. On the negative side the man at the front desk did not look up,speak to me, or acknowledge my presence when I entered. Not good.
Doctor was professional and efficient. However, I had to wait nearly an hour past my original appointment time (during the day on a weekday) to be seen -- hardly ideal when you have work to get back to and were expecting a much quicker visit. Additionally, I asked at the front desk if my prescription could be called into my pharmacy and was told "no" because the woman at the front desk had "already written it down" and didn't want to call it in.
Good doctor, but very long wait times.
Doctor Patel is the primary care doctor for all my family. He is a great professional very dedicated to his patients. Have been his patient for 8 years and I am very happy with him
I went for an annual check up, so nothing too complicated. Was quick and easy, good location, recommended.
Every single person in the office was warm and personable. I have been looking for a general doctor for over a year now, and I will definitely be back to Dr. Patel's office.
Dr. Patel was really great! He made me feel extremely comfortable and had advice for anything I was concerned about. The office was really old, but everyone seemed to have their system down. I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel, but I would go earlier in the morning to reduce wait time.
Everyone was super friendly and we shared some great laughs. Dr. Patel was attentive and answered all of my questions.
Dr. Patel is very caring and knowledgeable. I don't mind the wait, because he takes as long as each patient needs. His staff is great, too! Thank you, Dr. Patel!
I think Dr Patel is an excellent, thorough and ideally old fashioned doctor. Because he is willing to add sick patients each day, there is often a wait. I applaud and embrace this- I want a doctor who will fit me in when I am sick and take the time to figure out a problem. I think Dr Patel is a wonderful doctor. If you want a patient doctor, you need to be willing to be patient too.
I would NOT recommend this office. My interactions with the man at the front desk and the women in the lab room downstairs were really negative and off putting. Both seemed super agitated, inconvenienced, and disorganized. I waited 50 minutes to be seen by the doctor. When I walked in, I got the sense that someone had scheduled incorrectly (booked too many patients) and there was a general lack of management. Several patients were walking around confused and had to ask the front desk multiple times for the same thing. Dr. Patel was fine (not the best doctor but not the worst doctor I've seen) when I got to see him, though he really only saw me for about 10 minutes. I felt that he could have been more comprehensive though.
Highly professional, friendly, and thorough.
Once you get past the waiting room, it's smooth sailing. If you can, try to book an appointment first thing in the morning. Otherwise, you may be waiting for an hour or two.
Waiting for 1hr and 40min to see the doctor. Then had 3min with him. Dr. Patel is very nice and a great doctor, but the office is a bit disorganized and he seemed overbooked. Office computer system appears to be from the 1980s and office appears understaffed. One person is taking calls, getting records ready, checking patients out, calling insurance companies... Worried about the accuracy of the medical data being collected with that combination of understaffed and old data systems.
When I finally saw Dr. Patel (after a 1:15 wait time) I thought he, himself, was fantastic. His staff, on the other hand, was not cordial or welcoming. The office felt over-booked, outdated and disorganized.
Dr Patel is very soft spoken but I felt he did a very competent job referring me to another specialist.
I was actually in the room with the doctor before my appointment was even scheduled to start! Everyone was very sweet, and a complex case is being handled efficiently. I will keep retuning for PCP needs.
Excellent service. Had very little wait time. Dr Patel was quick and we were able to come up with a strategy for my health issues. I like that Dr Patel is not one to push high doses of meds on me unless absolutely necessary.
i came, i saw. i got exactly what i desired. it was a fantastic trip to the doctors.
Everyone was polite and pleasant. Dr. Patel answered all my questions.
Dr Patel was very helpful and very nice, and the appointment was quick, which I appreciated :)
Dr. Patel is wonderful. Highly recommend.
I have been seeing Dr. Patel since his Residency - he is the best!
I always know dr. Patel is going to do his best to make sure I leave feeling better
Per usual, Dr. Patel is very thorough and thoughtful. I am always impressed with how quickly I am able to get an appointment compared to most primary care doctors. I highly recommend Dr. Patel!
Dr. Patel is smart and a true professional with great staff and an ability to diagnose issues expediently!
As always, he maintains a comprehensive, professional approach. He has a remarkable memory and a great referral network.
Dr. Patel was very kind and quickly identified why I was feeling poorly. He had great recommendations to correct it and asked me to follow up if the problem persisted for more than a month. Very helpful!
Terrible experience at Dr. Patel's office. Receptionist was rude and unfriendly. Wait time was almost 2 hours. Medical assistant was friendly and thorough but the actual interaction with Dr. Patel was extremely brief, inconclusive, and awkward. He is a strange to say the least. Stay away.
Very professional office. Never have to wait long and Dr Patel is very knowledgable and thorough during your visit. Highly recommend!
As always Dr. Patel is usually a humble and dignify human. He treats everyone with the respect and courtesy that is deserving.
Great staff but waiting for an hour is a biggg diappointment
Top doc in DC!
The visit itself was good. Doctor saw me within a reasonable amount of time and was nice. Everuone was very nice. But I got some blood work done and the doctor said he would get back to me at the beginning of the next week with results. That was 3 and a half weeks ago. I called 4 or 5 times since then, left messages with his staff, he never called back. Last time I called I was informed that he was out of the office until next week. So, I'm a little frustrated. I don't expect to hear backbat this point. He also told me to check out the results online, but their patient website doesn't work.
As always, Dr. Patel is the consummate professional. Thorough, top quality.
Dr. Ashesh Patel was very kind and would highly recommend him.
As a physician myself, I appreciate Dr. Patel for his quiet and efficient bedside manner. I would definitely recommend his office.
The doctor, Dr. Patel, seemed fine and no nonsense. He had a medical student with him. But the office staff is TERRIBLE. Dr. Patel needs to fire Ellen and spend the money to upgrade his MS DOS computers. The receptionist (I'm fairly sure her name was Ellen) is the reason I will never come back here. That and the 1.5 hour wait. Maybe for a general check up. But when you're sitting there sick and miserable, having an inept and rude receptionist barely register your existence for 1.5 hours is ridiculous. The lab staff was nice and patient with me since I had lost my ability to sit and wait and just desperately wanted to drop off my urine sample and go home. The office is fairly small/not modern, but the whole experience would be improved with slightly more modern technology and a new, nice receptionist
Dr. Patel was very helpfulQ
I was primarily seen by a student doctor who was very professional and thorough but Dr Patel did a rundown and addressed everything I came for.
Dr. Patesh was warm and friendly and the office location is quite convenient, but the office itself seems inefficient. I waited for about an hour and a half before he was able to see me for what wound up being a very brief appointment.
Dr. Patel was able to accurately diagnose and treat me, even after several previous doctors I had seen did not. So I was thankful for a Doctor that took me seriously and gave me a proper treatment. He was very rushed when he spoke, but still answered the questions I did have.
Dr. Patel is wonderful. His receptionist however is rude and unhelpful and not a fan of zocdoc. I had quite an unpleasant experience with her. She was also complaining loudly to and about a patient on the phone and the entire waiting room could hear.
Doctor was friendly and fast, but there was 30+ min wait and he had a student (?) with him during the appointment. Was a basic check up, but would have been nice to have had an explanation for who she was.
I had a very good experience with dr patel he is very genius doctor. Thank you very much I appreciate.
No long waiting period. Dr. Patel is great at making you feel comfortable. Great assistants. Highly recommend.
Dr. Patel is always congenial and thorough.
Dr. Patel is caring and professional answered and answered all of my questions. Great doctor with lots of patience.
The secretary at the front desk was very unhelpful and could not even confirm if I had an appointment. She also seemed extremely annoyed when I asked her questions. My appointment started 45 minutes after the scheduled time.
Very kind and thoughtful!
Dr. Patel is great but his staff at the front desk are extremely rude and slow.
Best physical I've ever had.
Dr, Patel is incredibly attentive, was not rushed, and took time to answer all of my questions.
My visits with Dr. Patel and his team are always comfortable, open, and inviting. If you are used to a more corporate environment, the wait time may be longer than what you are used to. Dr. Patel and his team have a more neighborhood doctor's office/practice environment, which feels right for me and my family.
Dr. Patel is extremely knowledgeable, personable and takes in to consideration how your personal life effects your health
Very polite and thorough.
Dr. Patel is very professional, knowledgeable, and fast! I highly recommend him.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for about 3 years now. He is efficient and effective. Get's streghit to the point provides referrals and the lab is right there, very convenient. I've had to come in at a moments notice in the past and he saw me, and he's responsive over the phone, what more to want? The place is a bit rundown which can seem a bit odd at first but it does not bother me one bit. The nurses that do blood work are great as well, no pain while taking blood whatsoever.
This place was a disorganized mess. Bad experience from start to finish. I went in for an annual physical after almost 5 years (not good, I know). The frontdesk person was extremely inefficient and slow. Had to wait an hour and a half before I could be seen and that's when my appointment was already confirmed by zocdoc and all the forms were prefilled and submitted. Explanation: "we were overbooked" really!? First they called someone whos appointment time was after mine. 3rd year med student did my exam. The Doctor did come in to discuss afterward. After that he sent me downstairs for blood and urine test. I forgot to tell him that I had beeakfast that morning and dinner the night before and he never inquired. The lab was a work of art, again dingy looking and disorganized. The phlebotomist sent me back upstairs to bring her the urine sample. The bathroom was too small and the light was too dim. I'm glad I didn't pee on my hands! Lab ran out of labels. When I went back upstairs for checkout, I was informed that they didnt have anymore paper rolls for the little printer to print my invoice or take my copay payment and that they will send me the bill at the house. A couple days later, the doctor called with the lab results, which I hope were mine, and informed me that I was prediabetic and my cholestrol was super high. Completely surprised by the results because I eat healthy, workout , and am young. Maybe the dinner the night before and breakfast messed up the results. I don't know. As far as I'm concerned, this appointment was a complete waste of my time, blood, and money. I will be going to another doctor for the same annual physical all over again, but not without first reading their reviews.
While I admire and respect him as a doctor, the office is very confused, disorganized, often the staff is less than professional, and can be down right rude. I was scheduled for an EKG along with other tests, and not until the very end of my visit did he tell me that the "machine" was broken (for a month now it appears) and had to send me elsewhere for that procedure.
It was a good first visit. I am looking forward having Dr. Patel as my primary doctor.
I love Dr. Patel. I have been a patient of his for over a decade. He is great, listens, and is pleasant.
I showed up a half hour early for the appointment and was seen right away. I was probably out of the office by the time my appointment was actually scheduled. Dr. Patel is a great physician, covers all the bases, answers all questions. Staff is friendly too. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the doctors professionalism. The office staff guy was something, that I've never experienced. Horrible customer service. Excellent medical treatment. Dr Patel needs a new receptionist
He was extremely nice, but just the wait time was long. I got good recommendations for specialists, though.
I've been with him since he took over the practice from the now retired physician. He's an excellent doctor.
Dr. Patel is great. He was working with another female doctor today who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Great experience.
It was good but my wait time I was pretty long. Waited about 30 mins before the DR showed up, in the actual room where I was examined
Dr. Patel is a mild-mannered physician who is patient and thorough in answering my questions or responding to my concerns. The visit was quick and easy. Thanks
He's always very considerate and comforting.
top doc in dc! he's the best
He took the time to answer my questions and I felt genuinely cared for.
The appointment was fine. However, I had work lab work done while I was there and it has been over two months and I still havent' been told the results. I have called several times and left messages and my calls haven't been returned.
I love Dr. Patel but I've witnessed the receptionist being incredibly rude to many people both in the office and over the phone and I had to wait over an hour past my appointment to even get taken back to wait even longer in the exam room. Not okay.
Doctor Patel and his staff are professional and courteous. He took the time to listen to my needs and was very helpful in planning a course of treatment.
This was the most uncomfortable I have ever felt at a doctor's office. Where do I begin...first, I called to let the front desk know that I would be 5 mins late due to traffic - a courtesy call. She was rude and acted like I was bothering her. Next, I arrive. No one is at the front desk. Instead, the front desk attendants are in the other room gossiping about a patient/coworker -- was hard to tell. When I said "hello?" the woman at the front desk scoffed at me as if I was intruding on her time. It was extremely unwelcoming and unprofessional. Not to mention the computers are from the 1980s and all the confidential patient files are paper. It was immediately off-putting. Dr. Patel himself is nice enough, quick and to the point. I then had to use the bathroom which felt highly unsanitary as it had not been cleaned (in the toilet bowl...) before I used it...I mean, this is a doctors office. Come on. I then had to carry my own urine sample down a flight of stairs and set it in a sink next to other urine (and who knows what else?) samples? The lab felt unsanitary as well, and the nurse was VERY VERY rude to me. She was supposed to take a blood sample of mine but I declined because at this point, I did not want to be in that office one more second and was near tears because of how the staff treated me. When you are in pain or have a health issue and go to a doctors office, you want to be surrounded by PROFESSIONALS who are there to help you in a safe, clean environment. I did not feel this when visiting Dr. Patel's office.
Everyone was extremely nice at this office. I would recommend to a friend!
I joined Dr. Patel's practice as a new patient this past week and I could not be happier or more impressed by him and his office. Dr. Patel took the time to listen to me, to answer my questions and to make the requisite recommendations. When I had a question the next day he kindly called me back after he was finished with office hours. He has a lovely manner and is clearly very smart. I feel extremely lucky to have found him and trust that we will be able to build a long standing doctor-patient relationship.
Doctor Patel was very friendly and professional. He and his assistant, a medical student, addressed my issues and provided reasonable answers to my questions. I will go back to Dr. Patel next time I need a doctor.
I have seen Dr. Patel since he took over the practice from Dr. Fenton (whom I started seeing over 30 years ago). I would highly recommend him as a GP. He has always been available to see me at short notice, and the ZOCDOC reservation systems works well. Now I can even access my lab results on LABCORP.com! I have appreciated Dr. Patels' professional advice, he responded to my concerns and took time to discuss, and referred me to a specialist when needed. His office has ably handled my insurance claims to both primary and secondary insurers. Another plus: parking in the neighborhood in the early morning is relatively easy and the waiting room typically is not crowded before 9 am...
Exemplary, as always. I've been a patient of Dr. Patel's for many, many years - and very happily so. I've also brought many overseas visitors to Dr. Patel when those needs have arisen.
Nice, soft spoken doctor. Office outdated.
Every visit is fantastic. He's a great doctor and his staff is just awesome!!
Dr. Patel is very softspoken, so sometimes difficult to hear, but incredibly nice and willing to listen and offer advice for taking better care of myself!
Small, but efficiently run doctor's office, very convenient from the Dupont Circle metro station. Dr. Patel was nice, straightforward. Pleasant visit.
The office staff lack any kind of people's skills. Interactions with patients are unprofessional and borderline uncourteous. The doctor himself seemed a bit absent-minded. After my first visit, I left with the impression that they don't have very well established protocols for dealing with new patients. I was asked to show my insurance card THREE times!
Dr. Patel is the best doctor. I really love his work. He is detailed and he makes sure he runs every test that needs to be taken. I have recommend some people to him. If you need to be fixed Dr. Patel is the Doctor to go too. I went to the emergency room at GW and I still went home unable to breathe right. I went to Dr. Patel and he gave me some medicine and I was able to breathe again. He is the Best!!!!!!
Awesome doctor but wait time is too long. Visited twice. Both more than 1 hour wait :(
Dr Patel gets right to the problem and finds the solution and details what is going on, plus he has great bedside manner
Dr. Patel was friendly and attentive.
Loved him. I'm deaf. No interpreter was provided. But didn't need one. Read and wrote all the way. Easy to understand. Great dude.
Dr. Patel is a good doctor with a very calming demeanor, The staff isn't that friendly and it usually takes a little while to see the doctor. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Patel.
Dr. Patel is patient, and answers all questions. Staff is friendly.
Dr. Patel has a calm manner. He's patient and kind. The waiting can be boring but once you get to see the doctor you can't help but be forgiving.
Knowledgeable and genuinely interested physician.
A lot of people reviewed them harshly of the office manager, a woman. When I went, it was a man at the desk. He was fine although was speaking rather unprofessionally to a vendor in earshot regarding a bill he wanted, "to go away." Dr Patel was efficient and empathetic. Didn't push too much treatment and seemed to prescribe a very sensible and modest approach to my symptoms.
I have unhappy with the wait time in this office hence the 2 star review .
Facility did not have sufficient medical supplies or technology for a simple procedure I needed.
Dr. Patel is a wonderful physician, very knowledgable. One of the best!
I have never written a bad review before, but I feel it is important to write one here. I have been trying to renew a prescription for over two months now, and have been unable to reach the doctor despite well over ten calls and numerous messages. I have tried to reach the doctor directly and through the receptionist and have had no success with either despite this being about a very straight forward request. I am extremely frustrated and have never experienced such disorganization in a professional setting, particularly one that deals with sensitive medical information.
Excellent Doctor who takes the time to listen and has excellent bedside manners. I feel very comfortable with him.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for primary care since I moved to DC several years ago. He is a thorough and highly competent physician with excellent diagnostic skills. I would not hesitate to recommend him..
I had written him a note when making the appt. He had read it and was ready when I arrived so it was quick and painless!
I went for a physical and was seen right away. Dr. Patel was very nice, but I felt the appointment was not very thorough. He asked me a series of standard, medical questions (am I taking any medications, when was the last time I saw a physician, etc.), and I got some bloodwork done. However, I was not weighed, my height was not checked, nor did I get checked for a hernia. I thought all of these things were standard practice, but maybe not. In Dr. Patel's defense, I did not ask him why these things were not checked. I just figured he's a medical professional so he knows what he is doing, and perhaps these things are not necessary to get checked.
Super thorough, as always.
The office smelled like mold. Apparently there was some type of flooding so hopefull this is a temporary issue,, but it was not pleasant to go to the doctors office and worry about what you are being exposed to there.
The office was incredibly old fashioned (paper files everywhere, MS-DOS computers, etc.). As suspect as the office seemed, the staff were very kind and Dr. Patel was very honest and helpful.
I am so glad that I visited his office. It was one of the better doctors I have seen in years. He knew the right questions to ask and listened well.
I like Dr. Patel but this time I came for a flu shot and there weren't any in stock. I waited for over an hour and nobody thought it fit to inform me there were none after booking the appointment (I chose flu shot) or checking in at the office. I had to wait until I was in the room with the clinician to find out and then I left.
Great and friendly support staff and Dr. Patel was knowledgeable and approachable!
Would recommend to friends
It was quick and easy, the doctor only spent about 2 minutes actually in the room with me before he wrote up the prescription. Before that I had about 5 minutes with a nurse to detail my symptoms.
Dr. Patel is great, timely and remarkably remembers everything about you, even from 6 months ago. Great guy and very helpful.
He was fine. I thought he was little timid. The offices are pretty old and outdated.
Dr. Patel was great. The wait usually is pretty short, but today I arrived 15 minutes early for a 9:45 appointment and wasn't seen until about 11:15. So long as that only happens once in a blue moon, I can live with it, but still a little frustrating.
Very knowledgeable and professional with very little wait time.
Dr. Patel listened to my concerns while quickly and thoughtfully making a diagnosis. I felt as if he made strong recommendations while also listening to my concerns and suggestions.
Dr. Ashesh was great, however his staff was greatly unprofessional. They only have paper medical files and they leave them everywhere. There was a patient file at the front desk by the sign in sheet unattended when I walked in. Also, patients would freely walk back to where the patient records were stored. In addition, I tried to set up an appointment with the receptionist (Ellen) and she was incredibly unhelpful. She left me on hold for about 30 min before I hung up and never got back to me.
I though Dr.Ashesh was a pretty good doctor, He was very nice and professional, He took the time to listen to me and was very helpful, I will be returning!
Doctor Patel is fine. Saw him for 10 seconds. The staff was super unprofessional. I had blood work done and have been billed but never was called with results (it has been 2-3 months since my appointment.) Honestly, don't go here. Stay away. They will waste your time.
Dr. Patel always makes me feel comfortable whenever I go. I'm not used to going to the doctor for things, but he always looks over my charts and asks about any issues that I might have mentioned beforehand and looks at all the notes on Zocdoc, no matter how brief it is. I feel confident that Dr. Patel is giving me good information and he is never condescending, but always open to listening and explaining things. His newer front desk staff is so much nicer than his previous staff, I believe her name is Ellen. Sometimes the wait is as short as 15 minutes and sometimes it's longer, but Dr. Patel is pretty efficient once he sees you. He gives you what you need and is quick, but it never feels like he is rushing you because he has other patients.
Wait time was about 45 minutes at 10 Am on a Monday. Once I got inside the appointment was fast and easy, however.
Dr. Patel is not for everyone, but he's great. His office is very organized and things move quickly. It's a pretty spartan operation with no frills in the exam rooms. Dr. Patel is frank and open about everything. He is respectful, but doesn't feel like he's glad-handling you. Generally, his philosophy seems to be that people worry too much and he'll let you know if something is actually serious. If you want a doctor to indulge you in niceties of a visit to the doctor or to indulge you in all your worries, he's not the person to go to. If you want a doctor who will tell you not to worry because you're probably okay and then have an honest discussion about your risk for various conditions, he's just right.
From the time I checked into the time I walked out of the building 2 hours had passed. The first hour was spent waiting in the waiting room.
Dr. Patel was professional, though I felt that my visit with him was a bit rushed. He would provide diagnoses after each of my individual thoughts instead of aggregating all of my comments and thinking holistically about the situation.
This is probably my 4th visit to Dr.Patel's office. At first, I was a bit unsure of what to think, but each subsequent visit has been better and better. He is very nice and has a great bedside manner. He answered all of my questions thoughtfully and even offered a phone consultation next week to follow up on a recommended therapist.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for a long time, he is a good listener, very patient with all my questions.
Dr. Patel was efficient, which I very much appreciated, but he left almost everything to the LPN. This was fine for what I had, which was relatively minor, but I would hesitate to go back if I felt something more serious might be wrong, as I wouldn't feel confident that I would get the requisite attention.
Dr. Patel saw me after my bike was hit by a car for a general follow-up to an ER visit. Brad, one of the GW med students who rotates there, evaluated me initially, and was great. Dr. Patel was very direct and clear when he came in to explain his diagnosis, and, as always, I felt very comfortable with his understanding of my medical history and his prognoses.
I had some troubling blood test results that my insurance company vs. my doctor brought to my attention. He has of late become less and less attentive. I've since found another primary care physician. I lost confidence in Dr. Patel.
So far so good. I have had to wait a long time in the waiting room, but I think its because he takes the time to actually talk to the patient and think about what is going on. Not just a hello and goodbye. He comes across a bit soft spoken, but he is sharp and competent.
The person who took my blood was abrupt and had no interest in speaking with the patient. I waited for a while and then felt rushed through the visit. I was also asked to repeat information multiple times, for the different staff.
I got to see the Dr. Patel after an hour wait. They seemed to have problem taking so many people's appointments and everyone seemed tired of waiting. I finally saw the dr and he was mumbling and didn't seem confident of his treatment method, which made me want to go to another dr. He was supposed to give me a sample medication but the front desk did not have it so he just gave me a higher dosage medication and let me go. The front desk lady seemed stressed and unorganized. I will never go back to him.
Dr. Patel and his staff are a very welcoming and professional group. I was able to streamline the paperwork of the process with Zocdoc and therefore was able to focus on the medical visit with minimal paperwork. My only complaint is that Dr. Patel is very soft spoken and speaks very quickly. However, he stayed to address all my concerns and gathered all pertinent medical history in a thorough and patient style. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff for any general health needs.
Succinct diagnosis. Understood issue and made referral as needed.
I like Dr. Patel but I waited over 30 minutes to do some blood work. He was quick to get me taken care of when i finally saw him but I'd suggest an appointment later in the day because the mornings may always be busy.
The wait was slightly long, but clearly they cared about the patients, so I didn't mind at all. It's difficult to find a caring doctor, so I highly recommend... Will update when I see how the insurance worked out.
Great doctor, always like going to see Dr. Patel.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for a few years now. He is a good solid dr. Very soft spoken, detail person. He listens to all my issues and provides good feedback. I highly recommend him.
The clinic is not managed properly, the wait time is not good and the reception lady is not very nice. Dr. Patel seems like a professional, but with the over-booking of appointments that is going on there, he couldn't really give proper attention to me, and was too rushed.
The doctor said he would call me back to inform of the results of the blood tests and hasn't done so yet. i called the office, they said the doctor would call back and he hasn't done so. Although Dr. Patel is a great doctor he didn't follow through as expected.
Dr. Patel qualmed my fears with expert advice. Professional and compassionate. I'm on the road to recovery now.
Dr Patel is a good doctor but the office over-schedules the number of people it can handle (never waited less that 45 mins before being taken back to an exam room where its another 20 - 30 minutes) and the front desk admin staff ask personal questions loudly in front of all patients in the waiting room.
Good Friendly Doctor. Front office seems a bit disorganized. Front Desk lady seems a bit grumpy and overwhelmed. Needs to be replaced by younger staff.
Very professional and kind. Great doctor. Great office.
My visit with the actual doctor was fine, I like Dr. Patel, and his GW Medical student assistant was very nice. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long...about 40 mins before I saw the assistant and then another 20 mins till I saw the doctor.
Dr. Patel is really nice and gave excellent advice. He listened to my questions and thoughts and answered everything. I definitely recommend him.
Dr. Patel and the GW medical student rotating through his office (Sorry I've forgotten her name) were great. They really took the time to listen to my symptoms and walk through my history, asking thoughtful questions and taking notes. After conferring they returned and provided a diagnosis and both short and long term ideas for treatment. I had a little bit of a hard time hearing Dr. Patel at moments (he spoke quietly and quickly at moments), but he was happy to repeat and clarify. Overall I was happy with the visit and would definitely return. In response to some of the other common comments on here: 1) I had no issues with the front desk staff and 2) the office is not shiny and sterile like an office in a major medical bldg., but it's homey and perfectly adequate for a GP's practice. I really appreciated that it was a small office so I never had the feeling that everyone had somewhere else they needed to be when speaking to or examining me.
Professional. Answered my questions well. Good doctor. Would recommend.
Loved his style, thoughtfulness, and knowledge. Also, found his receptionist welcoming and his GW intern very competent.
He's very thorough and seems quite knowledgable and I really like the receptionist!
STEER CLEAR – AVOID THIS DOCTOR Demeaning, apathetic, crass, degenerate of a doctor that can't even seem to make eye contact with you when he speaks… I mean mumbles… to you. 'Unprofessional' wouldn't begin to describe him. The doctor explained that he was under no obligation to treat me and tried telling me that I did not possess the condition with which my specialist diagnosed me. The office is a disorganized mess resembles an antique store with old phones, magazines, computer 'terminals' from the late 70s, and tiny rooms and winding hallways. I'm surprised the practice is even in business, let alone listed on Zocdoc. Under no circumstances should anyone be seen by this individual or practice.
The doctor is good. But the staff is cold and not really helpful.
The Dr. and his staff were great. There was a fairly long wait, but when I was seen the treatment was professional and to the point. I'll be coming back for sure.
I got there earlier than expected and I was attended to. Dr Patel is a good listener and genuinely cares for his patients. He has a way of ensuring you are relaxed as the patient expresses their health concerns.
Friendly, timely, and thorough.
A Great warm and friendly doctor
Dr. Patel was very nice. His staff was a little cold, but it was very early in the morning. The office was a bit bleak but conveniently located.
Always a really good experience once the doc, or an assistant, sees you. But the wait times have been growing longer over the last year. Still, I continue to recommend Dr. Patel to friends.
Good practitioner but wait time is intolerable. Always over an hour. Will need to look for new Dr.
He's quick, thorough and has early appointments that fit with my work schedule. He's very informative and listens well (underrated quality!)
Went in for standard physical. It was early in the morning, so there was a slight delay before being seen, but everything after that was quick and efficient.
Very professional in all aspects to include his support team.
I have seen Dr. Patel for 16 years. While my job has changed such that his office is not convenient for me, I think he is worth the drive downtown. He takes my concerns seriously and spends time explaining his thoughts and answering questions. He takes a systematic approach to medical issues so I feel like I undertand my options and have a plan for treatment. His office is in an older building so while it is not as new as other spaces, I remember when it was first owned by the prior doctor who owned the practice and Dr. Patel has invested a lot to update it. And while it is old, it is clean, which is what I am concerned with. Overall, would recommend.
Dr. Patel himself was very friendly, he was very cordial and thorough in asking questions and in getting to know my health and history. I walked in for an annual physical (for the first time) at a time I was experiencing unusually high anxiety and I was looking forward to discussing results with him that same week. I was asked to call to receive my physical results. I called at least twice a week for over three weeks before finally giving up. The front desk staff wasn't usually pleasant, which is a big factor for me in choosing a health care provider. Needless to say, I haven't gone back since.
Receptionist is very rude and disrespectful. I wanted to take my insurance card and walk out. The doctor was great. But they need a change at the front desk. Horrible experience with the receptionist.
Dr Patel was very caring and thorough, referred me to a specialist right away, and went a long way toward reassuring me during a medical emergency. I'll definitely be back for my physical.
Dr. Patel was nice and knowledgeable. He listened to all of my issues and suggested the best way to treat them. The office is a little run down but It's in a prime location in Dupont Circle and super easy to access. I'll be returning to Dr. Patel.
Always first-class - patient, knowledgeable and smart.
Great listener. Attentive and responsive
Very thorough, knowlegeable and professional.
I am a healthcare professional and found Dr. Patel to provide excellent care, very well thought out communication and treatment approach. Dr. Patel will become my Primary Care physician without hesitation.
Very thorough and gentle bedside manner. Had to ask to repeat himself a couple of times cause was very soft spoken. Phlebotomist is usually painless but today I got stuck good.
I thought that the physical was not thorough, that the physician was in a hurry, and that he was generally uninterested. The
Went for a physical. Not a pleasant experience at all. The front desk woman was not very nice and made me feel like I was entering into a confrontation the moment I stepped up to the desk. The woman drawing my blood downstairs bruised my arm, terribly. She made fun of a patient who entered into the room while she was doing my blood work. The doctor was nice but very quiet. They don't follow up with you on your medical tests so you have no idea if you're healthy or not. If you don't get a call then you're healthy. Somehow I don't trust them.
Great MD but office is always full of patients and never wait less than 30 minutes.
Been coming here for years -- one of the things I like most about Dr Patel is that I feel that I can ask questions and easily get into good, informed discussions about the issues I am dealing with (the medicine being prescribed; a recent exposure risk, etc).
Staff was very unprofessional . Computer system is antiquated over 20 years old. Bathroom lights VERY DIM. Stairs dangerous and unleveled, just begging for lawsuit .
Kind, caring and thoughtful doctor. I felt heard and respected. Prioritized my needs and my health clearly. Definitely practicing good medicine. Would certainly recommend.
Staff were incredibly unpleasant. I was seen by a student at the local university first , which is fine but it took over two hours to actually be seen by the doctor.
Dr. Patel is extremely professional and friendly. His office can get pretty packed, I had a 7:45 am appointment and didn't get in to see the doctor until a little after 8:45.
Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and sincere. He listens and offers informed and practical guidance. I've been going to him since 2011 and never had a complaint about him. He does, however, have a front desk worker who's a bit scatter-brained.
Dr. Patel is great! He is very nice and is good at explaining things to me - and I can't tell the difference between tylenol or morphine.
Dr Patel is really great! He is super nice, and his receptionist is hilarious. Would go again!
Dr. Patel is very informed, reassuring and answers questions well.
Dr. Patel and his med student were so incredibly nice. They took the time to explain to me what my medical issues were, what I could do at home to help alleviate them, and were patient in answering all of my questions. I also love that they have walk-in blood testing. Makes it so easy!
The visit rolled off to an uncomfortable start as the receptionist was complaining openly on the phone about quitting her job and doing four people's work while other lines were ringing. In contrast, the doctor and the medical student who saw me were lovely, very professional and took time to answer any questions that I had about my health.
The customer service here was terrible. When i showed up for the appointment all of the lights were off in the office and they made assumptions that a patient and I were together. They also made us sit in the dark waiting room for a bit until someone came out to help us and turn the lights on. I called to follow up on a prescription and they said they would pass along the information to the doctor. I never heard back. When I called back the following day they were rude and said there was nothing they could do to help me. Dr. Patel was fine and very nice, but his staff is incredibly unfriendly.
I have found my new doctors office! Friendly & Smart staff, Dr Patel was very knowledgable.
Dr. Patel is a great practitioner!
He is clearly an awesome and intelligent doctor. Very attentive to patient needs and covers a wide range of problems. Only issue is the office staff and wait time as it's busy and somewhat disorganized administratively.
Well attended to and likely to visit again when necessary
Dr. Patel is knowledgeable and personable. He treated you like a person and not a dollar sign. Very refreshing. Worth the waiting room problems and rudeness.
Dr. Patel was very nice and professional. His PA, Mary, was excellent and had a terrific beside manner. However, the wait time was more than an hour. I showed up at 8 am and didn't see anyone until 9:15 am. There were three people in front of me in the waiting room, so that's probably part of it. But when I brought up the long wait time, no explanation was given. In other words, this long wait might be normal. The three people in the waiting room were regulars, and were there at 8 am for their 8:30 am appointments. So if you do go, I'd recommend getting there early.
I do not recommend this doctor. Doctor told me he would call me with results five days after my appointment and did not. I had to call him 5 times to get my blood work results, and only received them after reporting him to ZocDoc and threatening to challenge the appointment charge to my insurance company. I was then told by the office staff that maybe the doctor doesn't think he needs to return calls when the results are fine- obviously, that information is valuable as well. I am definitely owed an apology and would not see the doctor again.
I felt he was attentive to my request and pleasant In his demeanor.
Everything went well.
They were running over an hour and a half late and the PA and Dr. disagreed on diagnosis once I finally got in there. Never going back.
Great doctor, long wait time.
I really like Dr. Patel, he is knowledgeable on many random things and always seems to be aware of or interested in current research and publications on topics surrounding my health concerns. As others have noted, wait times can be long and his office staff can sometimes be curt. If you go into it expecting this, it is not a huge deal and is worth the quality of care received from Dr. Patel. Also helpful they can perform blood work on site!
He isnt usually runnning late but unfortunately he was today.
The consultation with the physician was excellent. People have varying expect ions related to the "customer service" aspect of medical care, and I won't go into the office dynamic here. The physician had great bedside manner and was very professional. The wait was over an hour, within the early side of the office opening but being seen was efficient once in the exam room. A concern related to the space- no sink in the exam room for washing hands in between patients and an overflowing sharps box. This may be a concern for infection control standards.
I really like the doctor, which is why I continue to frequent Dr. Patel's practice. He is polite, professional, and incredibly capable. If you have questions, he will thoroughly explain the specifics. The office staff, though, are less than mediocre and would be the reason I left the practice if I didn't feel so strongly about Dr. Patel.
Dr. Patel has a very open and low key bedside manor that I appreciate. He gives 100% focus, open to questions, suggests strategies and encourages follow up. He has been my Primary Care Physician for five years and I am happy with my selection.
I really appreciated the friendly and professional manner of Dr. Patel and his office staff.
Excellent doctor and very good nurse assisting. Would recommend.
Dr. Patel is great. I hadn't seen him in two years but he had a good recollection of our last meeting, he attended to my concerns with respect and detail, and is very easy to talk to. Highly recommended.
It was a great visit, and I got the information I needed.
Dr Patel is a great listener and has a kind bedside manner. He is very soft spoken so you might need him to repeat himself, but that's not a big deal. Dr. Patel diagnosed me on the spot for a condition that I had been misdiagnosed on twice in the ER and I improved quickly! You will see a medical student to obtain your past and current medical history before Dr. Patels enters but he will spend ample time with you. The office staff can be quite cranky but with a little kindness you can go a long way. I do wish they would splurge to update their current computers, I'm sure the staff does, too! I do have one complaint. Dr. Patel will close his office at the first sign of snow and keep it closed for many days even if the roads have cleared. There is no message on the voicemail that notifies the caller when/why the office is closed and when it expects to re-open. This has been very frustrating when I needed to simply pick up a prescription but ran out before the office re-opened a week later.
Everything was OK with my visit.
Do not visit. Took 3+ weeks to get routine bloodwork, took 7 calls, including my insurance company calling and advising I contact the DC Dept. of Health to finally get results back. Only after this began did they seem compelled to get me the results, at which point they read them to me over the phone w/o any verification of who I was, slightly scary, but hey... at least I got them.
I had a 9:00am appointment and the front desk still hadn't checked me in by 9:30. I wasn't a new patient and the office was almost empty, so I can't imagine what it would be like if it had been busy. Although Dr. Patel is a kind and capable physician, his office is so poorly managed that I've decided to go elsewhere for medical care.
Dr. Patel is very nice. First, a medical student came in for a routine assessment before consulting with Dr. Patel who then came in. They were both very professional, friendly and helpful. He even recommended a dermatologist who was within my network.
I appreciated that Dr. Patel listened to me and heard out my concerns. He speaks very low and was occasionally almost inaudible.
Dr. Patel is laid back and easy going and very helpful. Great bedside manner and I honestly think he cares about his patients (how wierd in this day and age).
I have been seeing dr. Patel for years. He is very nice and extremely knowledgeable!
Dr. Patel has been my primary care physician for over ten years. He and his staff are very professional, friendly and attentive. I had tried seeing a couple of other physicians before who provided inattentive medical care when I became ill. Dr. Patel thoughtfully listened as I described my symptoms; and he knew exactly what treatment to provide for me to get better.
Pretty good, good for a last minute appointment.
Dr. Patel is super smart, very helpful and provides a comprehensive diagnosis! He also takes the time to answer any questions and really explain things thoroughly. It's also very helpful that he has a lab in his office that can do bloodwork (it gets sent out for results but is drawn in the office), so you don't have to go to a lab like Quest to get your blood drawn. The only thing I would recommend changing is the receptionist - she is often away from the desk and takes several minutes to even acknowledge your arrival. Once, I waited 30 minutes before she even acknowledged I had arrived and signed in. This creates unnecessary delays and frustration in scheduling appointments around the work day. Also, when I have to call for results or follow-up questions (e.g. Dr. Patel asks me to call back if a treatment hasn't been effective after X days so he can call in a higher strength Rx), she doesn't take the message or relay it to him. I have to call back several times and each time she evades my questions. It's almost impossible to get any information from her or to have her relay that information to Dr. Patel, always resulting in a 2nd visit to his office (and enduring a long wait to be seen).
I've been a patient of Dr. Patel for a few years now. He is easy to talk to, listens to your concerns. Very easy to get appointment with him. I like the fact he is near a metro station which makes it very convenient.
Once you see the doctor, everything is pretty efficient. It needed to be done. Go early. I'm very happy with the online scheduling and for that, I'll be back more frequently (2xYr).
Great experience with the doctor, but both the front desk and the phlebotomist were awful.
enjoyed my visit with Dr. Patel. He was incredibly helpful, concise, and understanding. I will definitely use his services in the future.
Nice friendly visit. Although the office appeared a little disorganized.
I really like Dr. Patel. He's very up to date and quite informative. He's been my doctor for years.
The office is very dirty and outdated. The exam room walls are paper thin and you can hear straight through. Took way too long to see Dr then he spent 5 minutes. Do not recommend!
He is very quiet but nice. He is not very engaging though. I was the first person to be seen that day but I still had to wait for 25 min. There were 4 other people who also had 7:30 am appointments so I thought that was a bit weird.
Dr. Patel is tremendous.
Pleasant highly professional.
Dr. Patel is very thoughtful and a good doctor.
Overall, the appointment went well. The wait time was very long (almost an hour). The office staff were friendly, but could also have been nicer. The office is located in an older building but overall the infrastructure are acceptable. Dr. Patel was relatively nice and as others said, soft-spoken and seem young.
My visits are always pleasant, Dr. Patel and his staff are very professional and courteous.
He was kind and articulate - would see again.
I've been seeing Dr. Patel for a few years and he is very knowledgeable. I don't have any problems making an appointment, which I do online. He explains issues thoroughly to the extent I request and is always very courteous.
Very good office staff and very good doctor.
Most unprofessional doctor's office I have been to. The wait staff was not helpful, and after over-hearing their conversations they were rude to the patients calling in on the phone. Spent 2 minutes total with the doctor. No vital signs were taken, and no exam was completed.besides looking in my throat. The exam was very minimal. Very unhappy patient.
Dr. Patel was great and highly knowledgeable. I thought he was also particularly willing to spend time talking through my questions and doing due diligence to ensure I felt that the solution prescribed would work.
Outside of speaking very quietly, I love Dr. Patel. His office is sometimes inefficient, but they are always friendly.
Went in for one thing in particular but had about five other questions. Dr. Patel covered each one thoroughly. Very nice and makes you feel comfortable enough to ask all your questions.
Dr. Patel is an excellent Doctor. He is proactive and I appreciate his recommendations on preventative healthcare. He has been my Doctor now for more than 10 years and I have never been disappointed by him or his staff. They do not keep you waiting for very long and are always very friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Patel.
Anyone who says the staff wasn't helpful probably was just having a bad day because they weren't feeling well.
The doctor was super friendly and accessible. His records system was astonishingly out of date. Comedically even. I'm talking about computers with green text only and dot matrix printers. That had me a bit worried.
Very thorough, however, he spoke very quietly so it was challenging to hear and understand what was specifically being said.
I had an appointment right when they opened in the morning. I arrived on time to find the lights off and the receptionist just getting settled in. The doctor didn't show up for 15 or so minutes after I arrived and then didn't see me until about an hour after my scheduled appointment. I chose early morning so I would minimize the amount of work I missed but due to the wait I had to work late that evening. The computer system they use is antiquated- late 80s black screen with green text. The receptionist said they can't integrate it with zocdoc (surprise!) and flat out told me they just double book appointment slots between call ins and zocdoc. The doctor himself saw me for maybe 5 minutes and wasn't impressive. Afterwards they wouldn't let me pay my copay at the office and said they'd mail me a bill. One month later I still have no bill and no results for the blood work from the lab in the office basement. Overall, this is the worst experience I've had with a medical provider. I now need to redo my annual physical because I don't trust their work or record keeping. Avoid at all costs.
It has been nearly impossible to get in touch with Dr. Patel since seeing him for my initial appointment. It is terrifying, as a patient, to not be able to get in touch with your doctor and this lack of communication is unacceptable.
he was great!
All questions answered. Great response.
The doctor is fantastic. I was a little concerned about the appearance of the office, with computers that have to be a decade old, but the care was great and professional. He was very informative and helpful.
He had a lot of appointments available and I was able to schedule one for the following day. He was a bit awkward and mumbled a little, but amiable.
Dr. Patel was kind and seemed competent.
Always professional and efficient.
Lengthy wait time, incredibly fast and perfunctory appointment, and papers everywhere on the receptionist's desk. Maybe I caught this office on an off day, but I won't be going back.
I really don't like giving negative reviews, so this comes with a good deal of hesitation, but I was just so disappointed by this doctor's lack of thoroughness and presumptuousness that I figured it my duty as a responsible ZocDoc member to share. I understand occasional misdiagnoses happen; afterall, doctors are only human. But so many times this can be avoided by simply listening. I hope my appointment and dissatisfaction are anomalous and the doc was just having an off day, but I will not be going back.
I am pretty flexible, and I'm generally not bothered by waits or unfriendliness, but I was wholly disappointed by my visit with Dr. Patel. I went to get lab work done, as I suffer from chronic anemia. The receptionist was incredibly rude, and I had to wait around 30 minutes to see Dr. Patel. It has been 4 months since my visit, and I still have not heard back from the office regarding my blood work. I was still billed by the lab company, despite the fact that the results were never shared with me. I would avoid -- especially if you are going to get blood tested.
I have been seeing Dr. Patel for many years and I always appreciate his excellent bedside manner, attention to detail and his stellar communication. His staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
Great bedside manner, excellent at providing comprehensive care while attending to the specific issue I came in for. He's very soft spoken, so I had to ask him to repeat himself once. And his office management seemed dated -- lots of physical files instead of digitized. But all in all, great experience.
I really like Dr. Patel. I have been going to him for about a decade and he really is great!
He was nice. He's very soft spoken so I couldn't hear him well when he was standing right next to me. But I would go back to him, he's a cool guy.
Dr. Patel is always very personable and attentive during my visits. His staff is friendly, helpful and great. I highly recommend!
Dr. Patel was soft spoken and knowledgable. Very friendly and thorough. His office staff was outright rude, but other than that a very pleasant experience. I liked that he has a phlebotomist in house so I didn't have to go wait at an additional facility for blood work.
Dr Patel is very accomodating he prescribes just what you need. Thank you
Really nice person. Good bedside manner. But he was almost too quiet to understand. In fact, at times he was barely audible.
Very kind, considerate doctor.
I like Dr.Patel, his office and staff . They are all very knowledgable. Wait time could have been less this last visit.
I got the earliest appointment possible and was in and out in no time! Terrific at listening to my concerns!
I'm a physician myself, and I have to say that I really do appreciate Dr. Patel. He's intelligent, thorough, and has a nice, quiet bedside manner. Really a pleasure to deal with. Like other reviewers, I've noted the disparity between Dr. Patel's quiet and friendly professionalism and his staff, who normally just completely ignore me when I come into the office. I always have to be the one who approaches them to ask "um . . . do I need to check in?", etc. I've NEVER had any of the staff members welcome me, say "good morning", "the doctor will be right with you", etc. BUT, I normally pick the earliest appointment available in the morning, so things are on-schedule and quick, and I am usually in and out in 30-45 minutes total, after a thorough checkup with Dr. P. Which is pretty great. So one point off for the petty failings of the staff but otherwise very highly recommended.
Very Easy, no pressure. A very pleasant experience. Dr. Patel is excellent.
The office was old and outdated, but the doctor was a nice guy. Soft-spoken and on the younger side, but I liked him. When I arrived, there was no one waiting and the doctor saw me in a matter of minutes. When I left, the waiting room was full, so maybe I just got lucky.
It was a great visit. Dr. Patel spent a lot of time with me, taking his time to get all the information. I appreciated that.
Dr. Patel is prompt and professional.
I really liked him. I felt he was knowledgable and easy to talk with.
Excellent staff and a phenomenal Doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Patel for anyone in search of a doctor.
I've been a patient of Dr. Patel for at least 15 years and all was excellent up until the last couple of years. The wait times are becoming longer and it's become more and more difficult for the doctor to follow up on annual physical exam results and return calls concerning the results of which he asked to call him back but once that was done, I never heard back from the doctor with whatever the issue was. The focus appears to be more on his students/interns than his patients the last couple of years. I don't have a problem with him being a teaching doctor, but I can tell the difference in the services rendered of late.
I've been going to Dr. Patel for many years now. He is a soft spoken doc who listens to your concerns.
Rude Administrator. The doctor seemed knowledgeable but lacked personality. The office looks like its in the 1950s. Administrator was on the phone with a friend while I stood there waiting to check in for 10 minutes. Much better options than this place in DC. Place is very out-of-date and the doctor sounded like he was reading out of a textbook.
Really great! Love him- will be back.
I think Dr Patel is the best! He is caring and thorough. 5 stars!
Well it's definitely not your typical doctor's office. I thought he seemed fine and I didn't have to wait long. I did find it surprising that he didn't take my temperature or check my blood pressure - especially when I had explained that I had a fever the previous night. I don't think I would go back - especially if I had something serious going on.
Had a medical student do the evaluation, however it was only for a general consultation. The medical student did ask for Dr. Patel for advice, which he came in and explained his position on the diagnosis.
This was my first visit to this office and overall it was great! It was very timely, the staff was great and I felt comfortable during the visit.
Dr Patel was professional and funny. I was first seen by his resident intern and after consulting with her, he came in. I liked his bedside manner and his wry sense of humor. I would go back and see him again.
The Doctor was great! My only wish is that he would just speak a little louder and slower.
The receptionist at this place is just straight up evil. They will only issue a prescription refill if you have a fax number for the pharmacy - for CVS, that means you first have to call the pharmacy and get their number. If there are any hiccups at all (i.e., wrong number, or the receptionist forgets to fax your perscription) she will say she "doesn't need your sass" and start lecturing you on how this and that thing is "not her job." She's incredibly rude, no matter how nice you try to be, if anything at all goes wrong.
Reception area a bit crammed and noisy. the receptionist is more boisterous and louder than you'd expect or want from a medical practice. however the attending Dr. is soft spoken, professional and direct, 2 different experiences, the most important of the 2 was pleasant
It was an informative visit. When I left I felt that all my questions were answered. I am glad he is my doctor.
Very accommodating and great service. Loved getting in quickly and having all my concerns addressed!
It was great. I didn't know the cause of my problem.
I had made 2 appointments and the office was not open for both appointments. I didn't receive a call nor an email to let me know that the appointments were going to be canceled. He was very good the last time I visited his clinic, but I don't think I will be going back. I am looking to have my personal info transferred to the next Doctor I choose.
I spent about an hour and a half at the place and of those under 5 minutes with the doctor. He didn't get into any details, mumbled and was disorganized. I was not very pleased with the experience.
The ZocDoc information that I entered when scheduling the appointment wasn't available to the receptionist who had to enter all of my information again. It is why I assume it took over an hour to be seen after my scheduled appointment time.
My visit with Dr. Patel handled smoothly from the reception to the actual examination- from start to finish. Even though there was a delay in office opening hours my appointment went on just shortly after its scheduled time. I am grateful for their prompt and courteous service.
Dr. Patel is very professional and friendly. Great doc!
Very pleasant staff and a fast visit. I had a 9am appointment and was in and out within 45 minutes. I don't have any health problems so that might affect someone else's visit but they did there best to get me in and out while giving me time to ask questions/chat.
The doctor was nice, but the staff in his office completely messed up my billing. For a simple routine physical, which is covered 100% by my insurance, it took me two years to convince the office that I did not owe them hundreds of dollars. It took approximately ten phone calls from me and from my insurance company to get this figured out. I will never go back only for this reason.
Everyone was very courteous I especially want to thank the front desk. I left my phone there by accident and they stayed open so I could come back and get ti even though it was Thanks giving weekend. I highly recommend them
I thought it was good - had a blood work up which I needed.
Dr. Patel was great, but the wait time of 1.5 hrs was unnerving. Maybe it was an exception since it was Monday.
The doctor was great. The office staff less so. The wait was an hour over the appointment time, even at 9:30AM.
Dr. Patel is soft spoken but thorough. He does not try to initiate extra tests etc beyond your described symptoms. The staff was somewhat friendly but can afford to keep their personal conversations etc more private in a professional environment. Overall, I would visit Dr. Patel again.
It was literally the quickest annual check-up I've ever had, including wait. And yet, I feel like Dr. Patel still asked me so many questions to dig into my health and have a thorough examination. So glad to finally find a regular practitioner that I don't dread going to see.
The receptionist is extremely rude. Dr. Patel was nice and fast. Not a very clean office. Not updated. Still using files, did not take my temperature, blood pressure, weight or anything really.
Great doctor. I had to wait a little longer than usual this time, but I think they were juts particularly busy.
The doctor's response time is really poor downright pathetic. Had to call multiple times before I could speak to the doctor. I was promised prescription available at my pharmacy by 5:30pm for joint pain problems. Checked with the pharmacist no prescription came through. Am seriously appalled by such casual lame approach to address people's health care problems. If you cannot help a patient don't take on one! Very disappointed.
Dr. Patel is extremely knowledgeable and to the point. Private practice doctors are fantastic, and really take the time to do detailed intake to give a highly informed prognosis.
Other than waiting 75 minutes past my appointment time it was great. The front desk is unprofessional, but Dr. Patel is very nice and helpful.
Great doctor, always answers all of my questions. Has referred me to other great doctors as well (eye doctor, etc.) The only issue I have is his desk staff! The woman at the front has always been rude and unprofessional. I continue to visit for Dr. Patel but he deserves a better staff as the first contact for his patients.
Arrived early and Dr. Patel saw me right away, I as out of the office 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Always has great bedside manner and very professional.
the receptionist was extremely friendly, but the actual office was quite a dump. It seemed very unsanitary. I was seen almost right away, which was nice, but Dr. Patel seemed rushed. he didn't listen to everything I wanted to discuss about my medical issue, and he spoke so quickly that I barely heard his diagnosis. I was very skeptical about t cleanliness of the "lab" they have in the basement. Overall, I would not recommend using Dr. Patel.
I've been going to Dr. Patel for years now; he is very patient and understanding.
Dr. Patel is the best doctor I've been to since moving to DC. His office is a few steps away from the DuPont North metro stop and he could not have been more caring. He is soft spoken but what he says is not only helpful but very genuine. He really cares about his patients health and well being. Highly reccomend.
Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable, friendly and has a fantastic bedside manner. I would highly recommend him! I got an appointment same day too!
Dr. Patel is attentive, efficient and clearly knows his stuff.
Dr. Patel is terrific. He is not dismissive of any concerns, listening carefully and considering all the information you give him. At the same time he also pushes back where he thinks concerns are unlikely or misunderstood by the patient. All together he is exactly the kind of doctor I want - helpful and understanding, using his expertise to make the best recommendations possible.
Reading the reviews before I went to Dr. Patel's office, I was slightly put-off by the less-than-rave reviews for the front desk staff. However, the positive reviews for Dr. Patel were way more important for me. After my first visit, I can say that those front-desk reviews were spot on. The young woman at the front desk was so unhelpful that I thought she might actually be messing with me. Dr. Patel (and the medical student who saw me before him) were both courteous and friendly. It was a quick visit, but I didn't feel at all rushed. I recommend the doctor, but I question his staff choices.
I visited for a persistent and painful cough (1+ week, can't sleep). I didn't feel like Dr. Patel put much effort or energy into helping me: he basically just checked my lungs and told me he was giving me two prescriptions. He didn't really talk with me about my symptoms, or give me any information about the drugs he was prescribing. Only when I pressed did he say it "could be viral or bacterial" and that my lungs "could be inflamed", things I already knew. That said, maybe he did say more: when he was talking, he muttered and was speaking so softly and quickly, it was very difficult to understand him. Felt like a total waste of time.
Administrative staff is extremely impolite.
Dr. Patel was very helpful and attentive.
He was excellent. I'll admit, I was a bit put off by the reviews of the support staff so my expectations were extremely low. I've dealt with nicer clerks, but that is a low priority for me.
Administrative staff were rude and unhelpful. Begrudgingly faxed prescription (which I desperately needed) to pharmacy and said I needed to pick them up in person next time -- what office doesn't call them in?? Also, while the doctor was thorough and efficient, it took an extra day or two to call back with my test results. When I try to call back, it's always busy. The office closes at 4pm and from 3.30pm onwards, it's always engaged. Dingy office. The lady doing blood work in the basement was lovely though.
Very professional and thorough.
The wait time was adequate, and I think Dr. Patel is an excellent physician. He was kind an courteous, and listened to all of my concerns. He addressed each one, which felt reassuring. I would describe the visit as efficient and thorough. and I would recommend him to others.
Dr. Patel is very professional and I feel comfortable having him as my doctor, but he is a soft-spoken person. It was a bit hard to engage with him when I first met him and I felt like I had to direct much of the conversation to try to build any sort of rapport.
I have been calling the doctors office for one month trying to reach the doctor about my test results to no avail
Knowledgeable doctor but spoke very fact making it difficult to understand. The medical student was great! She was very thorough, helpful, knowledgeable. I understand the complaints about office staff because I got the impression they did not want to be there -- at all -- and the lab downstairs was a little strange. Helpful care and was able to get appointment quickly, right in my neighborhood, so will probably be back.
I've visited Dr. Patel several times and each time he is great; very professional; and thoughtful. However, the receptionist working the front desk is consistently surly and unhelpful.
Doctor was fine, office staff was horrendously bad.
Excellent! This is how a doctor's visit should be. I'm so relieved to find a reliable, efficient, and good doctor in D.C.
Dr. Patel is thorough and smart and figured out my problem.
Doctor was fine, though he did not speak very clearly. He gave a thorough exam and answered all of my questions. Staff and office environment are not pleasant. While clearing up a few issues with insurance, I could hear staff on the phone talking about other patient's private medical information. Staff argued, perhaps jokingly, but it was uncomfortable to hear. The lab downstairs is a dungeon, and the procedures for collecting specimens don't seem very hygienic.
Dr. Patel is always clear, informed on my reason for being there, and listens well, while keeping the visit moving.
He's quiet but always solid
great as always
Dr. Asheesh is courteous, though every time I visit him, it seems that he's a little rushed. However, he will always listen to every thing you have to say and address it.
He just seemed disinterested in anything I said. Wouldn't offer advice, I had to drag it out of him.
He is my doctor since last 3 years. Excellent.
I have been one of Dr. Patel's patients for a number of years, and have always appreciated his skill and experience. He is an excellent doctor, with a great support team. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his office.
Very polite and thorough, willing to take the time to make sure all my concerns were addressed.
Dr. Patel was great. He listened to every concern and talked through every health issue. The appointment wasn't rushed at all, and I had the chance to talk through everything on my mind. Thank you Dr. Patel!
Good guy, open dialogue, expert in his field.
I really enjoyed my visit to Dr. Patel's office. Everyone in the office was nice and professional.
Great, as always.
Would have preferred more transparency as to when I would be seen. Arrived 10 minutes prior to appointment then waited 45 minutes to be moved to another room where I waited an additional 20 minutes before seeing the doctor.
Dr.Patel was very patient and understanding . He sat down an explain everything .I will be more than happy to recommend him. I have a new docotor that I will have for a long time. I came home happy!
Very, very quick and efficient -- in and out for annual physical in less than 45 minutes
Found my knew doc! The wait was a little long but otherwise great experience.
Dr. Patel did a fine job. It was nothing special - the old "in and out." His staff, however, was quite rude.
Dr. Patel was really attentive and takes his time with his patients.
Very attentive, listened to my concerns. This was my first appointment, and he actually read my intake papers. I've seen several doctors who don't even bother with that. Blood work was quick and relatively painless. Gets right down to reason I came in, and gave me options to treat my health concern. The worst thing I can say is I had to wait awhile to see the doctor... but not very long, and it was actually Dr. Patel who treated me, not a PA which was a nice surprise!
Great visit. Seen by the doctor within a reasonable amount of the time. The doctor was very knowledgeable, explanatory, and approachable. I had requested a vaccine on my Zocdoc appt request, and he ordered it in time for my appt. Awesome service.
I was very happy with how thorough he and his staff are.
Great physician. Superb staff!
He's very professional.
Efficient, good-natured. Listened to what I was concerend about.
Very nice team and doctor was very helpful !
The doctor never followed up on our appointment, never reported the results of the tests and blood work we took in his office, and never recommended any ongoing solution. Beyond a waste of time, seeing Dr. Patel negatively impacted my health as I was so distracted and offended by his indifference to my condition.
I like Dr. Patel. I had bloods taken and I thought it was a little weird that the person that took the bloods did not ask an outside vendor to leave the room while she drew my blood. It didn't worry me, but I just thought others might have been a little put off by that and I just didn't feel I had her complete attention.
Very clear and straightforward, spoke with a quality of assurance.
Refreshing to not have to wait around for 30+ minutes before being seen. First experience was outstanding.
Very professional and thorough. I have been looking for a good primary care doctor in the area for a few years now, so I'm glad to finally find one that I'd go back to!
I appreciate Dr. Patel taking time to answer all of my questions. He did not say too much unless I asked though. His staff was friendly aside from the nurse who took my blood. Overall, I think I will return- they worked with me on my appointment time, picking up my results, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Great visit...office staff was AMAZING!
Doctor Patel is always professional. He's a bit sheepish with me so it makes me hesitant to go to him for any feminine issues. He seems more uncomfortable giving me a breast exam than I getting one. I've decided to get a personal obgyn for those feminine check ups! I would recommend the office.
Great! Nice guy, straightforward.
my visit was comfortable and easy , i had a simple complain but the doctor was welcoming and comfortable ,, he had a medical student who took history from me , she was professional too . if i had a complain in the future i would visit him thanks zocdoc
Dr. Patel is both very professional and personable. I always enjoy seeing him.
My visit was exceptional. All of my concerns and questions were answer. I fully recommend Doctor Patel. Everyone in the office were attentive and kind.
Even though it was long wait, it was thorough and actually enjoyable.
Dr. Patel is a knowledgeable and thoughtful doctor.
Dr. Patel is very efficient, thorough, and professional. He is VERY soft spoken (I am in my early 30s and have good hearing, so that's not the issue), so I have to ask him to repeat himself now and again. He doesn't mind doing so. Overall I have had a uniformly positive experience and will stick with him as my GP as long as I stay in DC.
Very efficient and pleasant. Takes the time to have a conversation about what is happening to you.
Dr. Patel was great, but I waited for 45-minutes at 9 a.m. -- worse than the usual wait at even a Medics USA/doc-in-the-box kind of place. That was disappointing.
Very happy to have found Dr. Patel. While the office was dated and small, I was seen really quickly at my scheduled time and he spent time explaining things to me during the appointment.
I like Dr Patel and thought he gave me excellent treatment. He is soft-spoken and doesn't provide much feedback on his own but this didn't bother me. If you are interested in seeing him, I suggest you ask questions to make sure you are both on the same page. I'm aware that some people had issues with the receptionists/office staff but I personally never had a bad experience.
Very professional staff. I was in and out.
Very thorough and answered all my questions.
I always enjoy my visits to Dr. Patel. He is pleasant and thorough, but efficient, and my checkups usually take 30 minutes total including exam and labs.
Overall very good.
I was seen by a GW med student who was very nice, primarily. I only talked to Ashesh a little. The office also never called me with my test results. Everyone was nice, but overall not a very thorough process.
The wait was a bit ridiculous. I showed up at 8:45 for my 9am appointment as a previous patient and wasn't seen until just after 10am. Other than that, the visit was pleasant. I'll continue to visit Dr. Patel.
The wait time was longer that I've ever waited, wasn't very happy about that. The conversation between med. student then doctor (I waited then too) were fine. Then I had to have blood drawn, where I had to wait again. I was looking to hear from Doctor on Wed. for test results, but I didn't hear back until Friday after having to prompt his office for a return call. I was unable to speak with the doctor about results because I received the message too late.
Very nice staff, informative and helpful.
Always a pleasure to see him.
Dr. Patel is great. He's super helpful, explains things very well, isn't rushed, knowledgable. His office staff however is the complete opposite. They don't have internet access on their office computers. Literally. Everything is stuck 20 years in the past and everyone I've ever interacted with is fairly rude.
It was quick and straight to the point, which was great and what I was looking for in a annual check up. Once I met with Dr. Patel he paid attention to my needs and questions and gave thoughtful responses. I would definitely recommend him in the future.
Pharmaceutical reps apparently take priority over patients. Waited an hour while they all sat in an office and spoke to the reps as well as people that came in after. I'm pretty patient but if I had my clients wait an hour I wouldn't be in business
Very quick and painless processing. Minimal wait time. Both Dr. Patel and the med-student intern were nice, helpful, and informative. I will definitely return.
Ashesh is an all round good guy. Wait time could be better.
I didn't have to wait long to see the med student intern. The intern was great. Dr. Patel seemed nice enough, but I didn't get to see him for very long. The front office space is a bit out of sorts, and the receptionists could stand for some professionalism in their demeanor. This is my first time seeing a GP in the District, so I don't have anything to compare it to in the area. I will probably shop around a little more before returning.
Dr. Patel is very knowledgable and a really great doctor!
Very good doctor, front office was a little lacking organization and competence.
Kind, knowledgeable, and clearly concerned about his patients. Friends' positive recommendations clearly confirmed!
it was excellent, friendly and efficient.
45 mins seemed like a long time... whats the point of an appt? Also, I'm always surprised how dirty the office is. Its neat but needs a serious scrub down. It just looks and feels germy.
Alway a happy visit the staff makes you feel like you are part of their family.
Dr. Patel was very courteous and professional. He was attentive and asked thorough questions. I was disappointed by the manner in which his front-of office staff greeted patients and answered the phone. They were curt and possibly rude. The office was very busy and there seemed to be a lot of patients scheduled at the same time. This would probably explain the long wait. However, after visiting Dr. Patel, I walked out of the office feeling pleased with my visit.
Dr. Patel is very pleasant and -- of all-- quick and competent.
I was pleased with the efficiency of the staff. Dr. Patel was thorough and attentive. He listened to my points. I left feeling that I was in the care of a capable physician.
Dr. Patel was quiet but he did give me the opportunity to ask questions and looked up the answers when he could not provide them off the bat. I thought it was strange that Dr. Patel didn't do any of the basics that usually come with an annual physical--such as taking my height and weight. Two major complaints: 1) the lab in the basement is sketchy and filthy. I wish that they were more transparent with their safety practices--I could not see a sharps disposal container from where I was sitting and was poked in the arm before I had time to ask questions. Also, I was asked to place my urine sample (along with others) on the same surface where the nurse was handling the blood samples. Definitely not a sanitary environment and 2) his office staff were not professional. When I first arrived, the assistants at the front desk took 10 minutes to get me a working pen to fill out my forms, which was a bit off-putting.
It has been a while, but I remember having to wait a while. But once him and his PA were in, they were very good and had excellent bedside manner.
Very thorough and patient. Yes, he has a very shy and soft spoken demeanor, but he asks questions and listens to your concerns.
Very warm wonderful Visit.
Great. Very efficient office visit. Dr. Patel is knowledgable and friendly. His office staff is fairly competent, as well.
He is such a nice Doctor.
Dr. Patel is very soft spoken and you have to really listen to hear what he is saying. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and will take the time to listen to all of your concerns and give you well thought out answers.
He is now and always has been an excellent doctor. I highly recommend him.
Dr Patel strikes a great balance between keeping a busy flow of patients and setting aside time to answer questions. Patient processing is also prompt. All around this is dastardly exactly what you want in a GP, easy access and good service.
very good as always
Another quality visit.
He is a kind Doctor and works very hard to be sure he is paying attention to each and everyone of his patients.
He was professional and helpful, as always.
I had to pester them for test results. I called 4 or 5 times before he finally got back to me. And then when he did, it turns out they hadn't done all the tests that I asked for so I had to go back and do it again. And even then I had to pester them for results. Nice guy. Needs to work on customer service. I'd be fired if I treated "clients" this way.
It was quick and efficient. Office is clean
Weird guy, has his interns do everything.
Very to the point and efficient. Very likable! I would definitely go see him again.
Very short wait to see Dr. Patel. Efficient and professional.
Doctor Patel is smart, competent, and local. His office is well run and his advice has been sound. Some yelp reviews cited problems with his bedside manner and his office staff but largely disagree with both.Yes Dr Patel is soft-spoken and not particularly out going but his medical advise solid (which is far more important). I'd recommend asking questions to engage him if you feel you'd like my feedback. As for his office staff, I have had no issues with him. My wait times are short and my paper work is correct. Whatever issues there may have been in the past, seem to be corrected. The bottom-line is that I would recommend Dr. Patel to anyone near Dupont Circle looking for a general practitioner.
Excellent, I even enjoyed interacting with the med student beforehand!
An efficient and wholly satisfactory appointment. I came in for a routine physical. Was treated with patience and care, and left knowing exactly what to expect with regard to test results.
A little soft spoken, but otherwise very good.
I love doctor Patel, He is a little soft spoken, but he is excellent at listening and prescribing a remedy with medicinal or not. I've been his patient for about 8 years or so.
Soft spoken but so nice and caring. He will listen and make good suggestions. The front desk workers seemed a little disoriented, but otherwise a great facility!
My appointment with Dr. Patel was quick, efficient and I was able to have my concerns addressed. Unlike other patients, I didn't find the staff to be rude or unprofessional. And I also didn't mind meeting with an intern before seeing Dr. Patel.
Dr. Ashesh is very sweet and soft spoken. He's quick
I felt that Dr. Patel gave me excellent reccommendations, and went the extra step to assure my health was great.
Great visit and feeling much less anxious about my health now
Excellent physician:knowlegable; helpful treatment plan; competent treatment staff (i.e. Evelyn, La Toya.)
Prompt as usual, he addressed my issues and answered my questions. As expected Dr. Patel is always on the ball. Excellent Dr.
Quick and efficient.
Dr. Patel and his staff are great. They make me feel welcome and remember me even if I haven't visited in months!
Dr Patel is very efficient and gives good recommendations.
He's very good, efficient, and responsive. Also saw an intern today- Leah Newborn, who was very helpful and a good complement to Dr.Patel's style.
Today my appointment was fast efficient and the staff were amazingly helpful. It was an enjoyable trip to the doctor's office.
He's always good.
Very nice doctor and he has excellent medical students working with him.
Dr. Patel was very attentive, answered all of my questions and his staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable the entire time I was there.
Great doctor, am glad to have found him and his office!
Went for second annual physical with Dr. Patel. Was first seen by GW Med student who performed a thorough and professional exam. Dr. Patel later came in and was equally as helpful and professional. Very knowledgable about referrals and insurance coverage. Overall, good experience for someone who does not particularly like doctor visits.
We were in D.C. on spring break and my son came down with a fever and respiratory infection. Dr. Patel's staff was great. His assistant, Anna, a medical student, spent time assessing my son and was very thorough, as well as kind and compassionate. Dr. Patel then examined him, agreed with her that he needed a course of antibiotics, and wrote us a prescription. Online appointment scheduling was great. We got in to see him within an hour of scheduling the appointment, all without even a phone call to his office! I was so apprehensive about trying to find good medical care in a big city where we knew no one. This was a great experience!
Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and professional. Excellent doctor. His admin staff, on the other hand, are not professional. They were yelling across the room to each other in the waiting room. What particularly bothered me is they were yelling out patient names. Also, I would obviously prefer a shorter wait time. Overall though, highly recommend going to Dr. Patel.
HORRIBLE! They didn't use ZocDoc at all - I wish ZocDoc would remove these merchants. I had an appointment for 9am and didn't get to see the doctor until 11am - was late for work and they made me sign in and register again (on paper) even after I did it online.
I waited about 20 minutes from when I arrived to finally see the doctor. The staff was courteous and professional and Dr. Patel was pleasant. I noticed people found him to be shy and quiet, and I agree. I asked him for a few things I needed and he was able to provide them right away including an FSA form which he filled out for me. His office looks small from the outside but it expands quite a bit with his own X-Ray and blood drawing areas. I had my blood drawn and was out in a total of about 1 hour. I thought the experience was wonderful.
Best internist I've ever seen. Has great med student assistants.
Very articulate. Was able to explain everything very well and seemed to really care about my well being.
I would echo earlier comments about him speaking softly and quickly, and I found it endearing and genuine as well. The woman who took my blood was basically uninterested in small talk/eye contact/etc, which was fine with me because she was great with the needle. No bruising whatsoever. His med student was very friendly and very professional. She was actually the most outgoing of the bunch, but everyone was just kind of being true to their own personality, and it all worked well. Everyone did a great job--I seem to remember reviews about the office staff being unfriendly, and I didn't experience any of that. Solid experience.
I believe my wait time was longer than usual because I arrived for my appointment an hour early. I think if I'd arrived on time, I would have not waited as long.
Dr. Patel is great. His staff is touchy. The receptionist did not listen to me when I tried to tell her I needed four scripts. She cut me off and snapped "I've got it!" then silently handed me a single script. I then told her it should be four scripts, she blamed me and said "You said you only wanted one." I told her I tried to tell her but she did not allow me to even say anything. She then politely wrote the other three scripts but could have saved herself some trouble by not being so rude.
Mostly seen by a GW MD student rather than Dr. Patel himself -- which was fine, he was outstanding.
Great doctor--soft spoken, but very good.
I went in for a physical and, granted, I had no complaints, but Dr. Patel spent EXACTLY one minute in the room only to re-ask questions that I had already answered on the intake form. I wouldn't say he was unfriendly - how could I determine that in 60 seconds? - but he was definitely rushed and, therefore, seemed totally detached and uninterested. Before he entered the room, a medical student palpated my chest and listened to my lungs. When I came back a couple months later for a vaccine booster, a medical student again administered the shot. That's fine, but when it comes at the expense of face-to-face time with the doc, it gives the impression that you just want the patients in and out ASAP.
Nice and knowledgable. Medical interns are always friendly. Office staff is selectively friendly and can act as if you're wasting their time. Good help is hard to find in D.C. apparently.
I'm accustomed to have RNs or PAs make the initial assessment before the doctor sees me, but this time I was examined by a 4th year medical student. I thought that was very unprofessional for a patient's first visit for an illness (if it were a routine physical, then it wouldn't be so bad). Once Dr. Patel came at the end of the visit, he seemed very jumpy/nervous and didn't seem to have taken time to learn about the reason for my visit. I came in for a fairly simple condition that would have been best served by immediate treatment, but he said he would wait until later in the week to call in a routine prescription after getting lab results back for a chronic condition unrelated and unaffected by bloodwork. He was not thorough and his process doesn't make much sense.
One of the best doctors I've been in a long time. Highly recommended.
First time patient. Filled out forms ahead of time -- got to the appointment 10 minutes before it started and I was seen nearly right away. Medical student did the exam and Dr. Patel came in later to check in and offer an opinion. Dr. Patel was quick and to the point and seemed knowledgeable. Overall, I was very pleased -- the blood work person could have used a attitude boost but this was the only demerit I could give the entire operation. Pleased -- and I will return in the future.
Dr Petel is the best!
I like Dr Patel but he needs to make major changes to scheduling. A patient should not have to wait more than 15 minutes. This is DC, people have places to be.
Dr. Patel is soft spoken but knowledgable. Very honest. Phlebotomist wasn't very nice but is the best one I've ever had. Haven't felt a thing each time I've been for blood work. Front office staff isn't the nicest at first, but pretty efficient. Now has an answering service and I was given a call back by Dr. Patel in 25 min!!!
Professional, nice, and willing to explain everything.
This morning was my first appointment with Dr. Patel. He and his staff were professional, courteous, and patient. Super convenient location 1 block from the subway, too! I'll definitely go back.
Dr. Patel is dismissive and made me feel like I was borrowing time from him. He had me take a whole slew of test without explaining why.
Everyone was so kind, courteous and helpful.
Very friendly front office staff. Obviously quite busy, but attentive and receptive nonetheless. Quite pleasant. Dr Patel was quite friendly, extremely efficient, and informative. He took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and had me in and out in a flash, script and referral in hand.
Dr. Patel is the best doctor out there. He is responsive, patient and very thorough. I have been his patient for almost 2 years now and haven't had a single complaint. His staff is wonderful too.
Serious-minded professional; soft spoken so it is incumbent on patient to be descriptive and forthcoming.
Very quick and easy. The staff are friendly and gave me my referral information immediately.
There was no wait-time at all. Initially, his medical assistant took my vitals and inquired into the reason for my visit and any medical problems or concerns I had. Then Dr. Patel saw me and gave me the results of my tests, prescribed some medication and told me what to watch out for and what to avoid in my diet. Both Dr. Patel and his assistant were very pleasant. Dr. Patel didn't waste any time, but at the same time he answered all my questions. I was out of his office in no time.
THE worst experience EVER! I went in for an "annual physical", and received absolutely NOTHING! I was there for 10 minutes! The doctor didn't even introduce himself, went right into asking me about my family history and spoke extremely low but at the same time extremely fast! I had to ask him several times to raise his voice and speak slower! I told him three times that I was in for an annual physical, but instead he nothing! I had to ask to be weighed! Usually this is done by the medical assistant! I asked for. Blood work to be done to check normal "annual" things, but instead he said I had to reschedule and make a morning appointment and not eat anything! I mean like seriously, I clearly told the front desk I was there for an annual physical so they could've told me to schedule in the morning so that I wouldn't have to waste my time and leave work for no reason! 10 minutes later, as I'm leaving the doctor asks me to inform the front desk that I need a referral to see a neurologist. The front desk lady looks at me and yells to another lady and tells her that she has a patient. This lady tells me that I don't need a referral and to "just" call the number and I informed her that she needed to ask the doctor because he said I needed a referral! She responded back with a rude "excuse me"! This was a first and last for me!!! As a cherry on top, the d
Completely unreachable after your appointment.
Dr P. is a great MD, very helpful and nice service, I'd recommend him to anyone after a good MD he's local to Dupont Circle
Dr. Patel is very thorough and really sweet. His social awkwardness is rather endearing, although others may find it prohibitive in a doctor-patient relationship. It worked for me.
Simply the Best!!!
Doctor Patel seems highly competent but he is a little brusque and way too soft-spoken to be heard clearly by patients.
the Doctor said he will call the pharmacy for my prescripition, one week past he didn't call.
Dr Patel had all the qualities I was looking for in a general practitioner: close, friendly, quick, and knowledgeable.
Dr. was quick and thorough, office staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
I had an exceptional high quality experience, I would highly recommend Dr Patel and his friendly and professional staff to anyone!!!
I very much appreciate Dr. Patel's efficient and professional service. In particular, I appreciate how quickly I can see him if I have an issue. I was disappointed, however, that I did not get his office's message that he had called in my prescription last week.
Very professional, very friendly, very fast visit (although a bit of a wait.) Knew what was wrong right away.
Had a full physical done in less than an hour. Addressed all of my concerns quickly. Great assistant as well.
Dr. Patel is great! Always very professional. Highly recommend him.
I really like this practice. The staff is very helpful and, best of all, knowlegeable about insurance issues.
Always a pleasure
Dr. Patel was great. He is very attentive and knowledgeable. His office staff was also very courteous and attentive. I will definitely go back for his services.
Quick and efficient!
Went for an annual physical. The physical exam itself (vitals, neuro signs, etc.) was done by a very competent 3d year medical student who passed on her findings to Dr. Patel who reviewed them and addresed matters of concern. Received an EKG and blood work. Discussed my current medications with Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel's staff was pleasant and prompt. It's a very efficient office.
As many others have mentioned, very good doctor. He referred me to specialists without hesitation, listened to me closely, and made me feel like he cared. He does speak quietly as others have pointed out. I didn't find it a huge problem, he repeated things I didn't hear.
Never returned calls to office. Ever.
Every time I see Dr. Patel I am reminded of what a good doctor he is. He is patient, caring, and wants to figure out the right treatment plan. Definitely recommend him!
couldn't ask for a better PCP. if the worst thing you can say about him is that he doesn't return phone calls and is soft-spoken (both true), so be it. dr patel is smart, funny, LISTENS and TAKES TIME to provide proper care. i've already sent two friends to him.
I was able to get an appointment very quickly which feels almost impossible in DC. The medical student who performed my examination had excellent bedside manner and made me very comfortable throughout. I would highly recommend this practice.
Dr. Patel is great, but I had to wait awhile this time around. It was about 45 minutes before I was seen. His office staff is a little prickly, but his phlebotomist is fantastic! All in all, I've been pleased with Dr. Patel.
Dr. Patel got me in and out quickly yet was very thorough, understanding and helpful. I'm now considering him my primary care physician.
Dr. Patel speaks softly and quickly, but his manner was fine. His PA had a truly outstanding bedside manner, so I gave a 5 for that. Even so, Dr Patel would be a 4 without the PA. Also the reception desk staff were more pleasant than is typical in DC, the office was clean, wait was bearable, etc. Best total office experience I've had in DC.
This doctor is great, efficient and very professional. He really takes time to explain things and understand why you are here. His team is also always great.
I like Dr. Patel and his staff. They are attentive and I feel good after my visits.
Always courteous and helpful.
Forgot to raise some issues with him! He speaks so softly I can barely hear him sometimes. I want to write him a letter or send him an e-mail. I have some real, meaty medical issues to discuss with him. Thanks.
Really not impressed. Just go there if you have no other options
Dr. Patel has been my physician for quite some time. He is caring and highly knowledgeable. His office is well-managed and dedicated to meeting the needs of patients. I highly recommend this practice to family members, friends, and colleagues.
Upon my early arrival as a new patient for an annual physical I asked the receptionist a few questions regarding my insurance - but she had know knowledge of what was going to be covered or not. She was not "rude" per se but not very pleasant - she then directed me to other staff at the office who also didn't really have the answers to my questions. I had already checked my insurance to ensure coverage - but every time I go to the doctor I double check (I've had experiences with "surprise" bills for things I thought were covered). Since they were less than helpful, I called my insurance just to make sure. I came in about 20 minutes early for my appointment, and was brought into the patient room about 35 minutes after my arrival. Then I waited another 10+ minutes alone in the room before the doctor came. Wasn't too bad of a wait time, but I hope next time it will be less...especially for someone who has to go to work immediately after the appointment. Dr. Patel was amiable and pleasant however very soft spoken and a fast talker. Nonetheless, he answered any questions I had and was more than happy to prescribe any medicines I needed. However - it took a while to get the prescriptions before I left...possibly miscommunication with the staff. I also had a blood test done in their lab downstairs, the lady there was fine but not very pleasant. Overall, the experience was fine and I may return - if I return it will be because of convenience to my home - I would suggest Dr. Patel hire a friendlier and more helpful support staff.
Good, to the point, took care of me without wasting my time or rushing to another patient.
He was very very soft spoken to the point I had to ask him to be louder. He also didn't provide eye contact until the end when he shook my hand. I thought that was strange.
Dr. Patel is wonderful.
It was great that I had an early morning appointment because there was practically no wait time. I was impressed with Ashesh Patel and the efficiency of his staff. I think the people working in the insurance company should be impressed that the staff working at his office was able to fax all the required paperwork in a fast turnaround timeframe. And I was assigned to a really nice medical student. I hope this person will become one of his permanent staff in the future.
Generally I was pleased. Dr. Patel seemed rushed, but gave me all his attention when he was with me. His med student Katherine was attentive and I was able to discuss my issues with her and feel that anything of importance was then re-visited by Dr. Patel when he came in
Long wait, crowded waiting area, paper-thin walls, disorganized front office, no vitals taken.
Friendly, intelligent, knowledgeable, and efficient.
I would definitely recommend Ashesh Patel to others. He was attentive and communicative while not extending my appointment time with unnecessary talk which I, and my schedule, appreciate!
I always like coming to see Dr. Ashesh Patel because he listens to my concerns and then explains everything to me. He is very thoughtful.
The blood tech was AMAZING!
Good doctor, but staff is horrible! They completely ignore you. I had an appointment, and came 15 min. prior it, bit still waited an hour to call in.
Very helpful in the visit. Spent about 10 minutes going through the options with me, had good pre-interview and made me feel comfortable with the process. Would visit again and recommend.
He delivered VERY good news to me today. He has been the most helpful Doctor I've been around with in awhile. He is thorough, and he is good and I feel comfortable with him.
I didn't feel rushed, and appreciated the time with the doctor. He answered all my questions. The wait time was over an hour, including 30 minutes after I was shown to the exam room. However, I do like that they do blood work on site, so I figured I saved time from having to go elsewhere for that part of the annual exam. Also, I had to wait another 15 minutes after my appointment to get my prescription written up, I'm not sure why the doctor didn't write it right there, really inefficient process.
Dr. Patel knows his stuff. I wish the wait time was less than an hour to see him!
Very friendly and professional
Pretty good. A little socially awkward and rushed, but I felt he was pretty thorough, and his assistant was friendly and thorough as well. I would recommend. Front staff is not friendly.
I highly recommend Dr. Patel. I'm new to the area and caught the flu in February. He was very thorough, personable, and professional, and there were no long waits at his office.
friendly staff and doctor. very pleasant and listened.
Very good visit. I'm normally seen right away, but the office was very busy today. Not the norm.
It was a pleasant experience. The front desk staff was very friendly. The wait was a bit long, but not too bad.
It was good overall. Only suggestion is to organize the area where the bloodwork is taken. As you reach the bottom of the stairs, an open trash container of medical supplies is the first thing you see. There are files spilling over and boxes piled on top of boxes.
very smart, really nice, my first time in and he was awesome! the wait time was really long, but I assume its b/c hes good and busy!
Dr. Patel was great. Very personable, competent, and open to questions. The wait time was short, the phlebotomist was excellent. A med student did my initial exam, so it was a little choppy, but hey, they're learning, and Dr. Patel made up for any deficiencies there. The only negative is that the receptionist was curt and relatively unwelcoming. Overall, great experience, and I will continue to use Dr. Patel for primary care.
Fast and friendly. This was my second visit and, if need be, I'll go back again.
Long wait time.
Dr. Patel does listen very well and fully communicates with you before you go. While the industry standard is to schedule 8 minute appointments, Dr. Patel takes the time required to address your needs. The phlebotomist was really good, too. I also appreciate that Dr. Patel has a policy against listening to sales pitches from pharmaceutical reps; it makes me feel more confident in the quality of care I am receiving.
Friendly and quick.
On my first visit I was seen primary but the nurse practitioner who was very nice and informative. Dr. Patel made a point to come introduce himself and review my chart and condition himself towards the end of the visit.
I had a very positive interaction with Dr. Patel. He was friendly, shook my hand, and said "nice to meet you." Sad, that such simple gestures were noticeable, but given my previous experiences with Western doctors, I was pleased by his demeanor. I did not feel rushed, he answered my questions, and paused when I had concluded my questions to ensure that I finished.
Bit of a wait, but he seemed fairly nice.
Helpful as usual :)
Dr. Patel was very informative and helpful, and his staff were quite friendly. Great experience overall.
Dr. Patel is a great doctor with an excellent manner. He never seems rushed, spends time asking questions and always offers helpful guidance and referrals when needed. Highly recommended.
A great doctor with a very helpful staff. Rama in particular is fantastic.
Mr. Patel and his staff were very professional, courteous, and efficient. I only went for a regular checkup and a mgoing back
It took quite a bit longer to get in this time, but I'll chalk that up to it being flu season. When I did finally get in, Dr. Patel didn't seem rushed and addressed all of my concerns with confidence and clarity.
Very easy to set up - waited about half an hour. Saw medical student first and followed up with Doctor. Helpful and straightforward.
Patel is great. always personable and his staff is nice enough
Excellent doctor. He was efficient and knowledgeable. I would recommend him highly.
Seems very knowledgeable and non-threatening. Highly recommend.
Dr Patel is very professional, very thorough, very friendly and the same is true for his staff.
Dr. Patel was very helpful. He is soft-spoken, but took the time to listen to me and explain his suggested treatment. I would recommend Dr. Patel.
Really smart guy. Very willing to listen.
Always offers useful information & very knowledgeable.
Not that I've been to tons of docs in DC, but this was the best experience I've had so far. Nice office, friendly staff, and great nursing.
I will definitely make him and his staff my permanent doctor!
Dr. Patel is a superb physician. He is caring, patient, and thorough. If you are looking for a doctor in Washington, DC, I highly recommend him.
Dr is very soft spoken - I had a hard time hearing him, and had to ask him to repeat himself many times.
It was a little slow, especially getting processed after being seen, but Dr. Patel knew his stuff and the staff was friendly and professional.
I made an appointment with Dr. Patel based on the great reviews on this site and I was not disappointed. I have been looking for a doctor for years who actually listens, cares, and is a good doctor and he does those all very well.
quick and efficient. Lab and Rx in 15 mins.
Dr Patel's a really nice guy who knows his stuff!
Dr. Patel is great--the office is pretty efficient, he listens and responds to his patients (something all doctors should do but fewer and fewer seem too).
I felt more assured that he'd find out what was wrong with me than I have with any other doctor I've come across in the last decade.
He was laid back, listened, very good at just walking you through the problem. He is a soft talker though, so don't hesitate to ask him to repeat what he said if you couldn't hear him.
I went in for a physical and basic lab work (cholesterol, sugars, etc.). Surprisingly, he said they have added Vit. D levels to the standard tests they run. But I noticed they still have not added an HIV test as a standard test that is recommended. With our city's HIV/AIDS rate, I think it should be a test that patients have to "opt out" of rather than something that someone should have to ask for. It would help more people become aware of their status, positive or negative. Also, he speaks quickly and quietly. Perhaps too quickly and quietly. Speak up!
I waited a while, but the office was clearly busy, and the Doctor sincerely apologized to me for the wait.
Seems like a nice guy but only saw him for six minutes for my general physical. A medical student did the actual physical examination. Did not offer much feedback or comments. Little interaction with the actual doctor.
I like him a lot. He is soft spoken, so one needs to listen closely to him, but he is attentive and effective
I thought the experience was good. I think he is a "keeper." The staff was helpful and very nice as well.
Good experience - not the chummiest of doctors, but on the other hand, he comes off as competent and professional.
It was okay.Had to wait long
I was quick and painless.
Dr. Patel was great. As the other reviews has mentioned he is a soft spoken person. I was a new patient and had a immediate need to see Dr. Patel. I was able to schedule to come in within only 2 days. Very little wait time and once seen by Dr. Patel, he dianosed my problem immediately, unlike my previous doctor. He also allowed me to get a full physical performed on that same visit. Blood was drawn and the urinalisis was done all at his office. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone. Just keep your ears open and ask him to repeat anything you could not hear. The only negative was that his front desk secretary was a little snappy and not as friendly/professional as she should be.
He was very nice, professional, willing to sit and answer questions. Office was very clean
Quick, efficient and no nonsense. Pleasant, but very business-like. Wish he would speak louder.
Ashesh Patel is a great guy and very professional. He's straight and to the point without seeming cold or unfeeling. I would recommend him without reservation. The med students in the office are also fantastic - they were very thorough and answered all my questions. I was a first-time patient and I plan on making Dr. Patel my primary care physician. No complaints.
Dr. Patel tends to mumble a bit, although when you can actually hear him, he makes sense.
Dr. Patel was quiet, but efficient, and most importantly, available for someone who needed to go to a doctor quickly. Highly recommended!
Dr. Patel was straight to the point. Diagnosis. Prognosis. Stats. He is a consummate professional.
Dr Patel is very knowledgeable and very quick to diagnose. The staff was very very friendly and helpful.Student-doctors in training were very knowledgeable.
Very professional, makes me feel comfortable
Good guy. Very competent.
I am surprised that Dr. Patel is still accepting new patients! His attentiveness, and patience in explaining everything is unmatched!
Dr Patel is very knowledgeable and very quick to diagnose and also allay any fears
My visit to Dr. Patel was great. The wait time was reasonable and the student-doctors in training were very knowledgeable.
The staff was very very friendly and helpful. They were a bit understaffed because of spring break, but I expect that they will see me faster one my next visit.
I think Doctor Patel, listened carefully to my concerns and the issue(s)I was having. Instead of just prescribing me something at will he decided to wait for the test results, which I appreciate. His staff if friendly and his practice is so easy to get to.
This was my second visit to Dr. Patel, after discovering him on ZocDoc - he's a great physician and is very efficient. I had a potentially serious condition today and felt very well-attended to and cared for - Dr. Patel returned my calls quickly even after hours. If you schedule a visit, my only advice would be come prepared with questions as he seems to move patients in and out fairly quickly. But, if you have questions, he answers them thoroughly and it's clear he very much cares for his patients.
This was my first visit, but I was happy with the experience.
The same as usual, nice and helpful. I've been a patient of Dr. Patel for some time now. I pretty much know what to expect, I have no complaints and can say that Dr. Patel is a very good doctor. I would definitely recommend him.
I made an online appointment for a physical at 9am and almost immediately was called back by Dr. Patel wh
