Getting to know Ashley Lauren Nerusu

I’m deeply committed to creating a safe haven—a calm; supportive; and non-judgmental space where healing can unfold at your own pace. My approach is grounded in compassion; evidence-based care; and a holistic understanding of mental health that honors your whole self. Whether you seek support with medication management; coping strategies; therapy; or simply a soothing space to be heard and understood; I’m here to walk alongside you and help lead you on your journey toward healing and wholeness. My specialty areas include anxiety; depression; bipolar; PTSD; schizophrenia; personality disorders; ADHD and more.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome — I’m glad you’re here. Starting psychiatric care can feel like a big step, and I want to help you feel informed, supported, and comfortable throughout the process. Here’s what you can expect when working with me for medication management. My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and patient-centered. I believe that medication can be a powerful tool — but not the only one — in supporting mental health. My goal is to work with you to understand your symptoms, discuss your options, and make informed decisions about your care together. I don’t take a “one-size-fits-all” approach. I take the time to get to know you, your history, and your goals. From there, we’ll carefully consider whether medication is appropriate, and if so, which options might be the best fit. What Happens in Our Appointments Initial Evaluation (Usually 45–60 minutes): In our first visit, I’ll ask about your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, past experiences with medications, and any concerns or goals you have. This helps me get a full picture of your needs before making any treatment recommendations. Follow-Up Visits (Usually 15–30 minutes): These are shorter check-ins to monitor how things are going. We’ll talk about how you’re responding to medication, any side effects, and whether any adjustments are needed. This is also a chance to talk about your progress, stressors, or anything else that may impact your care. What I Value in Our Work Together Open communication: You know your body and mind best. I welcome your questions, preferences, and concerns — and I’ll always take the time to explain options clearly. Shared decision-making: I will never pressure you into taking a medication. My job is to give you the information and support you need to make the choice that feels right for you. Whole-person care: Medication is just one piece of the puzzle. I may also recommend lifestyle changes, therapy, or other supports to help you feel your best.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you come in to see me, whether it’s your first visit or a follow-up, my goal is to provide thoughtful, personalized care that supports your mental health and well-being. Here's what you can generally expect when working with me: Initial Evaluation (First Visit) Duration: Typically 45–60 minutes This first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding the full picture of your mental health. I’ll ask about: -Your current symptoms and concerns -Personal and family mental health history -Medical history and current medications -Substance use, sleep, appetite, and lifestyle factors -Depending on the complexity of your situation, we may begin discussing a diagnosis or possible treatment options at this first visit, or we may need a second visit to complete the assessment. -If medication seems appropriate, we’ll discuss potential benefits, side effects, alternatives, and your preferences. I’ll never pressure you into starting something you’re not comfortable with — the decision is always shared. What Makes My Approach Unique Collaborative care: I believe treatment works best when it's a partnership. I’ll always include you in decisions about your care. Whole-person focus: I take into account your physical health, lifestyle, relationships, and stressors — not just your diagnosis. Every client is different, and I tailor care to your specific needs and goals. Whether you're new to psychiatric treatment or have worked with providers before, my aim is to create a space where you feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the process. The office was so helpful in assisting me with the steps I had to take before my appointment (forms, payment & making sure I received my email to join the video session). Once I joined the session, my doctor quickly joined 1 minute after. Ashley was very kind & understanding of my problem. She really listened to my needs & got straight to helping me with the solution. I’m extremely happy with the care I received through Luna Bloom. It was so quick & easy.

As a full-time student juggling classes, deadlines, and constant overthinking, I was really struggling with anxiety and ADHD. I used to feel scattered all the time. No matter how much I tried to focus, my brain just wouldn’t cooperate. Meeting my provider changed that. They actually listened without judgment, helped me understand what was happening, and worked with me to find a treatment plan that fit my lifestyle. It’s been such a relief to finally have my anxiety under control and to feel like I can focus and get through my day without being overwhelmed. I’m so grateful I reached out, I wish I had done it sooner.
Ashley Nerusu has been an absolutely phenomenal provider. she is incredibly knowledgeable about different treatment options and took the time to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciated. What stands out most is her genuine empathy and the non-judgmental atmosphere she created. she made me feel truly heard and respected. Since starting treatment with her, I've seen a noticeable improvement in mood regulation. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a thoughtful and highly competent psychiatric provider
Excellent! Thank you
I was really struggling with anxiety before I started seeing Ashley Nerusu. From my very first visit, I felt truly heard and supported. They took the time to understand what I was going through instead of rushing the session, and helped me find a treatment plan that actually works for my lifestyle. I’ve noticed a real difference in how I handle stress and day-to-day worries now. I’m so grateful for their kindness, patience, and professionalism. I finally feel like myself again.
Ashley is a wonderful healthcare provider! She is knowledgeable, professional and will listen to all your concerns. I highly recommend Ashley!
I was struggling with depression for a long time and felt like nothing was helping….meeting Ashley completely changed that. She truly listened to me and and helped me understand my symptoms and worked patiently to find the right medication that actually made a difference. What I appreciate most is that she never rushes the process. She made me feel heard, respected, and hopeful again. I finally feel like myself after years of feeling lost. If you are looking for someone who truly cares, and understands what you are going through, Ashley is the one.
I’m really glad I found Luna Bloom Psychiatry. The provider I met with took the time to understand what I was going through instead of just writing a prescription and moving on. They helped me look at things differently and create a plan that actually fits into my everyday life. The sessions feel personal and judgment-free, and I’ve noticed a real difference in how I manage stress and anxiety now. Highly recommend if you’re looking for compassionate, professional care that actually makes an impact.
As a working woman balancing career and family, I came to Ashley at Luna Bloom Psychiatry during one of the lowest points in my life, struggling with depression and unsure if anything would truly help. From day one, she listened with genuine care and created a plan that made sense — her thoughtful medication management, paired with her compassion and guidance, slowly helped me feel like myself again. I no longer wake up feeling weighed down; I finally feel hopeful and steady. Ashley doesn’t just prescribe — she partners with you in healing, and that has made all the difference.
I set up an appointment and she cancelled, then I got a call from her office and they said that they don't take my insurance but they do take the anthem blue cross that I have ,I do not recommend.

I had a wonderful experience with Luna Bloom Psychiatry. From the very beginning, the process was smooth and easy. My provider was warm, attentive, and truly listened to me without rushing. I felt comfortable sharing what I was going through, and I left the session feeling lighter and more hopeful. What stood out most was how practical and helpful the guidance was, it wasn’t just generic advice, but real support I could actually use in my daily life. It’s rare to find a provider who is both professional and compassionate, and I’m really grateful I found that here. I would highly recommend Luna Bloom Psychiatry to anyone seeking genuine, caring mental health support.
From the moment I scheduled my appointment, I felt supported and cared for. My provider took the time to truly listen, asked thoughtful questions and explained everything in a way that gave me both clarity and hope. I left the session not only with a clear treatment plan but also with a genuine sense of encouragement and motivation to focus on my mental health. The experience was compassionate, professional and deeply empowering. I felt seen as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. If you’re looking for someone who combines clinical expertise with warmth and humanity, I would highly recommend booking here.
She was very kind, I discussed my mental health history and past issues with medications, and she listened and asked follow-up questions. She made the process of choosing the right medication a collaborative process and asked what I was comfortable with and where I wanted to start with medications.
This was the first psychiatric appointment that I had where I did not feel belittled, pushed off, or an inconvenience. I was listened to, understood, and supported. I had a wonderful appointment.

Showed up 20 minutes late and kicked me out 20 minutes early. (Still was charged) Very unprofessional. I’m very surprised to find out she actually has a degree.
