Dr. Asiya Tschannerl is a dedicated and experienced Family Medicine physician with over 15 years of practice and education. Dr. Tschannerl did her undergraduate and graduate studies in biochemistry and immunology at the University of London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She then received her MD and MPH at St George's University and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Tschannerl was Chief Resident and then Core Faculty in the Montefiore Family Medicine Residency program for several years before focusing on outpatient primary care.
Her philosophy of care is centered on building a strong partnership with her patients. She focuses on preventive and lifestyle medicine, aiming to address the root causes of illness within the context of each patient's individual lives. Dr. Tschannerl and staff were great. This was my first visit and Dr. T. took plenty of time reviewing my family medical history. She also focused on my diet, demonstrating an awareness that what we is the root cause of so many medical issues. This is an emphasis that I have rarely experienced from other medical professionals, and it is very much appreciated! Definitely the kind of physician I was looking for!
