About Dr. Asma Jafri

Asma Jafri, MD, pursued a career in health care to interact with others, feed her curiosity, and feel purposeful. Her expertise is Internal Medicine, treating a range of acute and chronic illnesses affecting adults-from hypertension and diabetes to the common cold.
?Ultimately, I want to foster interest in patients regarding their own health. For many, health is not prioritized and can feel burdensome,? she says. Her philosophy is that health is a team effort between physician and patient, with patient enthusiasm and engagement driving care.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, concerts, museums, and time with family and friends. She is passionate about physicians building patient confidence through education and encouragement and aims to educate the community on the importance of preventative care.

I was charged for a standard annual check up when I have never had any issues. My insurance only partially covered it. Nothing was out of the ordinary.

Went in for an annual physical with bloodwork and the nurse failed to draw any blood on two attempts, and then I got extremely nauseous and vomited. Was then told to book an appointment with their lab to conduct the blood tests at a later date. My urine test was also not conducted and the office couldn't provide me with a reason why my sample was rejected. Some of the screening questions they asked were repetitive and also felt inappropriate or had a judgmental tone. It was not a good experience overall, a complete waste of my time which I took off from work for such an unprofessional practice.

I had a good experience with the nurses and doctor. I have had a tough time finding a PCP that I liked and I thought I had finally found one. However, I would not recommend this location. I've had an issue with my bill that has not been addressed for going on 2 months. I've had to call now 3x and still have not received an update or clear information on why I was charged for the services they charged me for. Incredibly frustrating and would not recommend.

I am shocked by this provider's approach.
I have been taking medication for ~3 Years which makes my daily life a lot easier - it is not a controlled substance and not known to be addictive.
This provider says that her approach is to check in every 3-6 Months (which I never had to do for a non-controlled substance that I have been taking for many years) and she insisted that she would suggest tapering off the medicine EVERY time. Despite me voicing my concerns and explaining that these meds have significantly improved my daily life, the provider said she would still suggest tapering it off in every single follow-up meeting, regardless of my personal circumstances. The reason: maybe at some point it may interfere with other treatments (e.g. high blood pressure). I am young and perfectly healthy with ZERO signs or family history of high blood pressure - why would a provider make such generalized treatment recs? I find this unprofessional and unethical. Will immediately seek alternative.

Excellent experience. I arrived early and the front desk was able to get me in ahead of schedule. The doctor was very friendly in answering my questions. Special shoutout to the assistant Jalena who was literally the most delightful person who I have interacted with this week.
