Dr. Usry has accumulated over 29 years of experience caring for patients in various healthcare settings, including acute care, primary care, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatric, and substance use supportive care. She currently works in an integrated practice as the psychiatric provider and serves as a resource for primary care providers, therapists, and nursing staff.
Her education includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University, a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Regis College, a Master's in Family Health Nursing from Walden University, and a Bachelor's degree from Grand Canyon University.
Dr. Usry also spent 13 months as a medical provider in a correctional setting, where she gained eye-opening experience. She observed that many individuals in the correctional system have psychiatric conditions that are often untreated due to stigma or nonadherence stemming from fear that others might discover their mental health issues. There was a dire need for mental health providers in this environment, and she was able to develop therapeutic relationships in some very challenging situations.
This experience inspired Dr. Usry to specialize in psychiatry to encourage, promote, and empower individuals to engage in their mental health care. Ultimately, her goal is to help people gain control over their behaviors and their lives.

I went to the address listed. It did not exist. I tried calling the office multiple times. No one answered. I really needed to speak to somebody to clear my mind and this just made my day so much worse spoke to the building owner at the property. He has never heard of the clinic in his life. Now my whole day is ruined and I am triggered beyond belief and now I don’t want mental help even though I really need it thanks a lot terrible experience do not recommend.

My appointment with Dr. Usry was fine. I was expecting more questions from her about the details of my mental health but it was fine. What wasn’t fine, was that my prescription was never filled. I messaged her through the online portal and got no response. I’ve been putting off getting medication for so long, just working through my issues best as I could, so for me to finally get to the point of getting help just to not actually get the help - beyond disappointing.
