About Dr. Avijit Sharma

Dr. Avijit Sharma, MD is a double-board certified interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist who has trained at some of the top institutions in the country. He embraces a multidisciplinary approach to treating pain and works with his patients to come up with an individualized plan including interventional procedures, chiropractic care, physical therapy, and regenerative medicine. In this way, Dr. Sharma hopes to not only alleviate pain, but restore functional ability as well. Dr. Sharma was born and raised in Southern California. He earned a Bachelor of Science from California State University of Los Angeles and then went on to study medicine at the Ohio State University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine and Masters of Public Health degrees. Following medical school, Dr. Sharma completed a residency in Anesthesiology at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine – New Haven Hospital. It was here that Dr. Sharma realized he wanted to dedicate his career to helping chronic pain patients regain their lives. After residency, he completed an ACGME accredited Pain Medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Aside from clinical practice, Dr. Sharma is active in medical research and has published in highly regarded peer-reviewed medical journals. He has contributed chapters to pain medicine textbooks and presented his work at several regional and international conferences. Dr. Sharma’s passion for research allows him to provide his patients with cutting-edge and innovative therapies. Dr. Sharma looks forward to building new relationships with his patients and partnering with them to help them achieve their wellness goals
