I’m Dr. Allie Shapiro, a board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each of my patients.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed my residency in psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital.
With over a decade of experience in outpatient and telehealth settings, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, helping patients regain balance and improve their quality of life.
My approach is collaborative and holistic, integrating medication management with supportive therapy to ensure personalized care.
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work together to understand your unique challenges and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your needs and goals.
Beyond clinical practice, I have a deep passion for teaching and mentoring, having served as a professor of psychiatry and a supervisor for medical students and residents.

What is your typical process for working with clients?
In our first session, I’ll take the time to get to know you, listening carefully to understand your concerns, history, and goals. I conduct a thorough diagnostic evaluation to ensure an accurate understanding of your mental health.
Together, we’ll explore the best treatment options, which may include medication management and therapy. I believe in a collaborative approach, where your input is valued at every step.
Follow-up sessions are focused on monitoring progress, adjusting treatment as needed, and ensuring you feel heard and supported throughout your journey.
