Whether you are seeing me for a routine check-up Dr. Alkatib is a proud Michigan native and graduated medical school with honors from Wayne State University. He completed his residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He then went on to finish his Cardiology fellowship at Rutgers RWJ University in New Jersey. He returned to Michigan to complete his Interventional Cardiology fellowship and start practicing at the Detroit Medical Center. There, he established himself as a highly-regarded cardiovascular specialist and served as the Medical Director of the Cardiac ICU and core faculty member of the Interventional Cardiology training program. Dr. Aziz Alkatib is a gentle and compassionate physician who believes that patients need to be heard. He understands the fear and anxiety associated with having cardiac disease and seeks to put patients at ease.
