About Dr. Azmat Khan
Dr. Khan is dedicated to providing her patients with excellent and personalized care. She has a special interest in treating high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, congestive heart failure, lung disease, acid reflux disease, bronchitis, pneumonia, allergies, asthma, and urinary tract infections.
Dr. Khan is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Khan received her medical education from Fatima Jinnah Medical University, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at Forest Park Hospital, an affiliation of Saint Louis University, before completing her fellowship in geriatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
Dr. Khan is also a hospitalist and will follow her patients should they need to be hospitalized. She is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital, CHRISTUS Saint Catherine Hospital, and Methodist West Houston Hospital.

Other than the long wait Dr Kahn was very detailed and spent the time with me to understand the issues. Her time spent probably explains the delay to be seen beacsue she does ot with every patient.

I saw this physician once, at the beginning of the year, last year. I was looking to find a new primary care physician and had multiple things going on, medically. She was kind during the visit, but essentially did nothing but refer me to 3-4 other physicians. When I left that day, we agreed that I would see these physicians and afterward, I would come back to her for a follow-up.
With all of the issues surrounding me, at the time, it took quite awhile to be seen by everyone. Not to mention 2 of the physicians she referred me to were awful, so I found my own specialists. Approximately a year later, I wanted to return for a physical, as well as follow up on these appointments. I called to make an appointment, but instead of offering one, the woman on the phone insisted I give all my reasons for the visit, this wasn't really abnormal, so I did. I also included mention that I needed a doctor's note to quit going to massage therapy. The woman ended the call and said she would call me back with my appointment.
Instead of that, she called me back to let me know that Dr. Khan could not give me a doctors note. That is all that she said. Nothing was mentioned about any other piece of my request. I said ok, that's fine, so when is my appointment? What followed was an awkward dance of this lady not wanting to book an appointment and me trying to figure out what was happening. Clearly, she assumed my only reason for the visit was the doctor's note and was refusing to see me, it took me some time to figure that out, and I definitely regretted mentioning it. We ended the conversation with no appointment made and much frustration on my end. It was time to find another new primary care physician...
It was the weirdest, most awkward I've ever felt communicating with a doctor's office. I felt embarrassed like I had done something wrong. I have since found an amazing primary care physician! So, I suppose it was for the best. It still felt pretty bad to be treated that way.

I just had my first visit here. They had my paperwork I filled out through ZocDoc and my Insurance already situated and I was seen immediately. The office was very basic and odd. It was clean, but tables/counters in the "exam rooms' resembled TV trays. They insist that you come back monthly or every few months for check ups, and refused to call in 12 month prescriptions for maintenance medicines I have been on for years. In addition, she failed communicate this up front so I ran out of medicine waiting on her office to call in refills to my mail-in pharmacy. I have never been to a doctor that refused to call in 12 month supply for routine meds - and I have been to a lot of doctors in my life for asthma. Seems like a scam to get more office visits in my opinion!
