“I have been using Lifestance Health since the start. I have been blessed to have gotten a extremely experienced Psychiatrist by the name Dr. Barry Mills. Since the first day I meet him he made me feel extremely comfortable talking to him. I never for one second did I feel judged by him. He and the Lifestance Health team have all been that way very caring and professional. Also I can tell over the past year that my Doctor truly cares about my health and my mental improvement! I recommend anyone in search of care to make Lifestance Health one of your options. Also they will accommodate you with your appointments. If you don't have transportation they give you the option of doing telehealth appointments which are like a zoom appt. Privately with your Doctor.

“I had a great experience with Dr. Mills. He was very attentive and listened closely to my needs. I am a generally anxious person and felt very comfortable talking to him. Extra point: He had a very inviting virtual set up that made me feel comfortable (not awkward or intimidated as I usually am with doctors) while talking to him. His staff responded to emails quickly and the online patient portal was very easy to navigate.”

Barry Mills MD, PhD, has over twenty-five years experience as a psychiatrist including teaching on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. He commonly treats problems such as depression, insomnia, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizophrenia and chemical dependency, among other conditions.
Dr. Mills has received a M.D. degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and a Ph.D. degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. He has been an Editor for the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, a Harvard Faculty Teaching Award nominee, consultant to the U.S. State Department and has served as Residency Training Director for two academic departments.
Dr. Mills has various hobbies including motorcycles, gardening and writing. His wife has worked for almost twenty years as a Special Education teacher. They have three children, numerous rescue pets and two gorgeous grandchildren.
