About Dr. Bishara Wilson
Celebrating 21 years of private practice in 2024, Dr. Bishara Wilson, DACM, L.Ac. is the owner of New York Sports Acupuncture, P.C. and is a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He specializes in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for back pain, knee pain, and other injury rehabilitation and prevention. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University, CT '98, and holds a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, NY.
He is a New York State licensed Acupuncturist, a Certified Sports Medicine Acupuncture Specialist®, and is Nationally Board Certified in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. (NCCAOM). He is also certified in Clean Needle Technique (CCAOM).
Bishara is a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York, the American Society of Acupuncturists, and the New York State Acupuncture Coalition.
In addition to acupuncture, his training in Traditional Chinese Medicine also includes: Tui Na Massage, Cupping, Moxibustion, Diet Therapy, and Qi Gong Meditation. He is also a Rei Ki Master level practitioner.
Bishara has traveled the world, studying with master teachers in China, Tibet, Senegal, the Gambia, and Ghana. He is also an initiate of the Long Men (Dragon Gate) Daoist brotherhood in China and Ntr Hru Cha (Sacred King Man).
He has been studying Traditional Chinese Medicine for over twenty years and has had a private professional practice since 2003. At New York Sports Acupuncture, you will be educated about and receive treatment according to your individual body constitution.

Dr. Bishara is easily one of the most knowledgeable sports accupuncturists I have ever encountered. I have struggled with a very serious chronic shoulder problem for almost a year now & even after only three appointments at NYSA I can already notice improvement. I am not a newcomer to accupuncture & have seen many practitioners over the last five years — if you’re an athlete struggling with chronic pain & dysfunction, I strongly recommend making an appointment with Dr. Bishara.
Additionally, I think it’s important to note that Dr. Bishara hisself is an athlete - he understands the very difficult emotional experience of injury for athletes. Being able to safely express that sadness & pain in a clinical environment, I feel, is VERY important. I can’t really engage with doctors who won’t acknowledge the reality of mind-body connection - Dr. Bishara brings SO much knowledge of holistic health practice to the table...from the ancient to the current, in the realm of the emotional, physical, nutritional, and spiritual, he really excels. Five stars.

Dr. Bishard is a doctor who really cares about his patients and will ensure that he provides you with all the resources to bring you to your optimal health.
I am a Retired Military Veteran and when I came come I had a few physical challenges, due to knee injuries. With frequent treatment with Dr. Bishard, my knee condition greatly improved. Being able to walk with limited pain and with mobility has been life changing.

Dr. Bishara is an expert in his field. Each visit was approached with empathy, care and respect. He evaluated and modified my treatments as needed always discussing any changes to the care plan with me first and listened to my feedback as a matter of standard practice. Always professional, timely and efficient, I am so grateful to have found his practice after previous PT did not alleviate the inflammation of a 10 year old injury. The difficulty I had walking, squatting or climbing stairs when I first began treatment was noticeably lessened. I have recommended his services on more than one occasion and will continue to do so.
