Dr. Bishoy Kolta is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult, child, adolescent, and addiction psychiatry. He completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in 2017, followed by a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of South Florida in 2019.
With a compassionate and patient-centered approach, Dr. Kolta is deeply committed to mental health as a cornerstone of overall well-being. His work is not just a profession but a personal mission to support individuals facing mental health challenges. He specializes in treating a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and behavioral concerns such as oppositional defiant behavior and mood dysregulation. His expertise also extends to eating disorders, psychosis, OCD, PTSD, and substance use disorders, especially since he recently acquired his board certification in addiction medicine.
As a proud American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) member, Dr. Kolta is dedicated to advancing mental health awareness and advocating for comprehensive, evidence-based care. Outside of his professional life, he is a devoted husband and father who enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.
What should a new client know about working with you?
We DO NOT accept any form of Medicaid, Medicare, or government insurance.
In my practice as a psychiatrist, I am deeply committed to providing individualized support to each of my patients. I understand that each individual is unique, with their own set of experiences, challenges, and strengths. This drives me to tailor my approach, ensuring that each treatment plan is customized to meet their specific needs. By fostering a compassionate and understanding environment, I aim to build trust and make a meaningful difference in their mental health and overall well-being.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
1. You will be notified when that happens.
2. When you request an appointment, we will create a patient profile in our EHR using your information, including your insurance if applicable. If you are using insurance, you will receive an email from Headway, our insurance processor.
3. Patient Information and Confirmation: Upon confirmation, your information and appointment details will be entered into our Electronic Health Records (EHR). You will then receive an email from IntakeQ with a link for the video appointment and intake forms, consent forms, and an invitation to join our patient portal, which is crucial for ongoing communication.
4. Credit Card Information: At this stage, we will collect credit card information to keep on file.
5. Intake Forms Completion: You must complete and submit the intake forms provided, including the necessary consent forms, to proceed with the appointment.
6. Appointment Procedure: At the scheduled appointment time, log in using the link provided in the email to join the video call.
7. Post-Appointment: If applicable, prescriptions will be sent to your designated pharmacy, and a superbill will be provided if requested.
8. No-Show Policy: A $75 fee will be charged to the credit card on file in case of a no-show.
9. Cancellation Policy: If, after booking your appointment, you realize that you cannot make it, ensure that you cancel it as soon as possible to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.
We welcome including family members and spouses, if applicable and appropriate per patient preference.
