He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the International Sleep Surgical Society. Dr. Chernobilsky has particular expertise in hypoglossal nerve stimulation for sleep apnea, advanced palatal surgery techniques, nasal and sinus surgery, and minimally invasive treatments for snoring. He is recognized for his personalized approach to care, combining deep expertise in both medical and surgical sleep disorders to provide thoughtful, individualized treatment plans. Throughout his career, Dr. Chernobilsky has helped pioneer advanced sleep surgery programs at leading academic institutions in New York City. He established sleep surgery and hypoglossal nerve stimulation programs at Mount Sinai Health System in 2015 and later at NYU Langone Health in 2018, helping bring innovative technologies and surgical techniques to patients in the region. Dr. Chernobilsky earned his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University with concentrations in Neurobiology and Behavior and International Relations. He received his medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency at the historic New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Chernobilsky has held leadership roles within the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and currently serves as Treasurer of the New York Society of Otolaryngology. He has also participated in multiple medical missions to Ukraine, providing reconstructive facial trauma surgery for soldiers and civilians affected by the ongoing war.
