Before starting his position at South Shore University Hospital as an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, Dr. Petrone received his B.S. in Biology at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was inducted into Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honor Fraternity. He completed his Orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwell Health Huntington Hospital in Long Island, NY. Following residency, Dr. Petrone completed his Orthopaedic spine surgery fellowship in Indiana at Indiana Spine Group, where he was trained by world renowned surgeons, Dr. Rick Sasso, and Dr. Paul E. Kraemer. Dr. Petrone believes in a patient centered and holistic approach to healthcare - treating spinal pathology in the context of the whole person and tailoring treatment to best fit the patients needs and lifestyle. Dr. Petrone has interests in arthritic/degenerative processes, adult deformities, minimally invasive and robotic assisted spinal surgery of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, and enjoying the outdoors.
